  • Dick Morris is a complete moron.

  • I see: Rationing by the means of giving good health care only to the rich is freedom and rationing based on transparent political decisions is socialism. Well if so, I would prefer socialism ;)

By the way your criticized system works in Germany and other european countries quite well and we have a far better health care system for less money.

Free tip: For a solution of your pseudo dilemma google "overdiagnosis" and "overtreatment".

  • I am not an American but I can see that America is being left behind, In New Zealand we have had good public health insurance for a long time now and guess what, we are still prosperous and we are not a communist country. It costs me $10 for a doctors visit which gets reimbursed and I have never paid more than $30 for medicine. You are not helping yourselves just the medical insurance companies enjoying huge profits.

  • @Toroa28

Dude....American government don't care about John and Jane Doe

Thanks god I live in Europe! We do not attack every country for oil and we REALLY take care about our people!

  • I'm sorry I gave you a view count.

  • Anti-Obama political demotivators: watch?v=Wu-3Eryt2pA

  • @mavrek47 Mavrek47 = dung throwing Kos monkey

  • Bull shit canada has a good health care system . This guy is just picking and choosing.

  • Are all the americans who are against public healthcare and support giving money to israel, aware that a chunk of that money goes to Israels PUBLIC healthcare system. Are they happy to pay for the healthcare for all in Israel, but not in the USA?

  • Sorry to put another cat amongst pidgeons the UK have a greater life expectancy than the US as well.

I still don't understand why the most patriotic western society is against health care for all Americans. I agree that state run businesses are a bad ide but surely health and education should be. It just seems wrong to make money off them. If you can aford to get better care fine (There is private care in the UK as well) But surely they should be a safety net just for all your contry men

  • @919andy I agree; govt.s should stay out of profit making free enterprise businesses, but health, hospitals, education, law enforcement and prisons/correctional institutions should remain firmly in govt ownership and control.

  • The US leads the world in medicine. It is #1 in correct treatment and diagnosis. We have the highest survival rates for cancer in the world. Hell the only reason we rank low in the infamous WHO study is because it ranks equality over quality. With its rating criteria a country than universally distributes bandaids for everything would rank higher than a country that has optimum care for 90+ % of its population. I live in a country w/ public healthcare, it sucks compared to the US.

  • @squirrelrides What country?

  • The UK

  • I feel for the UK. Not just about the socialized medicine.

  • We have free librarys! And free dentist care up till you are 20 years old! We have some free high cost insurance for the medicine :) adn in sweden the taxes are just about 50% :p but its all worth it!

  • well i bet that you have the money for a healt insurance! But poor people and single mothers and people who lost their jobs can not pay the bills for the insurance... you are just retarded -.-* look at the nordic countrys wher the health care is free! We have higher taxes and we have better education then you and free health care! :p

  • How is healthcare free in Nordic countries?

How do the Doctors and Nurses feed their families???????????????????

  • How many people will have to die because they don't have health insurance? Many people are scared to go see the doctor until it's too late because of the fear of overwhelming bills they cannot pay. Do you know how much a simple x-ray cost. I don't totally agree with Obama's plan but there's gotta be a way to balance the health care system so non-insured people can see a doctor and not be waist deep in dept.

  • How many poor Americans die because Medicare denies them coverage?

How many poor Americans die waiting for treatment at a Government clinic?

  • Excellent points made against... however, we must find new funding methods and nspire a new generation of doctors and scientists. Also, healthcare, in my opinion, should not be the priority right now... we should be focusing on three things: rebuilding the economy, ending the war, and providing better education.

  • Age-adjusted death rates.

    2006 US:

    Cancer 180.7

    Heart diseases 200.2

    2005 Canada:

    Cancer 170.3

    Heart diseases 121.5

    What's that lunatic talking about?

    Jean-Daniel

  • one major flaw with ur "age-adjusted rates". The US has a much larger elderly population right now (because our medicine is better)where as the Canadian elderly population that grew up in the time of poorer health care has already died off, thus they aren't calculated into the recent year's data. Our older generations are still around (the ones born around the early 1930's), and in resent years have been finally hitting the breaking point. Try to learn about ur stats prior to preaching them.

  • Bogus.

    US 2008; 85+: 1.4%; 75+: 5.8%; 65+: 12.3%

    Canada 2009; 85+: 1.8%; 75+: 6.5%; 65+: 13.9%

I don't know where you take your impression your know the actual data. The reason I did use age-adjusted stats is because Canada has (in real life and not in your fantasy world) an older population than US.

  • u r correct about these stats. I was wrong. However large amounts of americans retire to Ca because the dollar goes further, so can ur stats account for how many of those included in them are immigrants, and thus been taken care of in other countries for the majority of their lives? Because Ca has higher immigration rates than the US, (documented ones) and unlike the US the majority of their emigrants Rnt in bad shape, & r in fact more educated than the Ca populous. Ur systemdoesnt apply to them

  • Very interesting table about igration in Canada. Im sorry about the fact the pages french, I just realized, you can select English at the bottom of the page.

What you can see is that a small minority of immigrants come from countries which could account for better statistics in terms of population health. Most come from poor Asian countries. Very little come from US, Western Europe or Japan.

  • I do agree that US immigration, and more so the fraction thats not documented, might be in worse shape. But Canadas Health System takes all of immigrants into account and give them as good a healthcare as possible, no matter what. Hows that bad if overalls stats are better?

  • Liar. Our medical care is shit. plain and simple. you are a fucking liar. Nothing but a paid shill for corporate interests.

Socialized medicine is good enough for our troops, so why is it not good enough for our citizens. And don't give me that too expensive bullshit, we already have the most expensive healthcare in the world.

  • the healthcare is not about healthcare----its bout govermen control-----the goverment already gets 50 percnt of all profits on walstreet ----the goverment owns companies--why??? nwthe goverment wants to own our healthcare---why??? WAKE UP SHEEPLE---THE GOVERMENT IS TRYING TO CREATE A NW WORLD ORDER TO CONTROL US ---UNPLUG FROM THE MATRIX BEFORE OUR CONSTITUTION IS BURNED FOEVER !!! WATCH MY VIDS

  • The people are the government you paranoid moron. Why don't you try reading the constitution so you know what the fuck you are talking about for a change.

  • Is this guy saying that 50 mil non-insured have to wait for the health care system to expand til it could support them, just because the 250 mil could have the same level of treatment that they do righ now because they already have insurance?.

  • he's got a point about Canada...we do have a lot of problems with wait times and specifically with specialists...but there's a lot of reasons for that...it's partly because of our system that does not really pay our doctors enough...rather the States has produced a brain drain where many canadians, including a few of my friends have went to the states to work b/c they get paid way more compared to Canada...i do hope that people realize that public health care isn't bad...but it's not perfect.

  • get off your fat ass and pump some oxygen into that pea brain.

  • What a bitter fat ass you are! Your poor surroundings prove what a loser you were in your life and why you are such an angry man. If you would get off of your fat ass and do something productive with your time, you MIGHT have been more happy.

  • If i were a communist, I would love Obama.

  • You're an idiot. And not credible..... maybe Fox makes you feel important.

  • Fire Barney Frank , Palosi, obama, biden, and All the othe Idiots who want Socialized Medicine

  • Amazing! Where do you buy your wigs?

  • Dick Morris has a long history of seeking out prostitutes. In 1991 he fathered an illegitimate daughter with Texas escort Barbara Jean Pfafflin. Then, while working for the Clintons, he got in trouble for hiring a $200-per-hour whore named Sherry Rowlands. Worse, he let her listen in on calls with the President. Not surprisingly, Rowlands went public for $50,000. Then the hooker Rowlands revealed that he liked toe-sucking. This is the man we want telling us about health care? No thanks, Dick.

  • I hope you die, you fucking fat lard piece of shit.

  • "It's hard to imagine the Democrats convincing the public that Republicans are to blame for health-care reform going down when the Democrats have such large majorities"

Liberals market the notion that it's all everyone else's fault, while gently suggesting passivity. Democrats continue to enjoy their "victory" in the propaganda war by the continued spread of this hoax through media. The odd couples bound by common traits including contempt of Western ideals, hatred of any who defend them.

  • oh no! he is upset because the gov 't is going to cut off his viagra! or worse his boyfriends!

  • What is your solution then? Should we continue to ignore the 47 million uninsured? Is THAT not an elitist attitude?

  • Tort Reform, Insurance Portability and do away with exempting insurance from Anti Trust Laws. Oh yea, how about before they attempt to get into the health care business maybe they should see if they could fix the fraud in Medicaid and Medicare! There are many things we could do but those lifetime lawyer politicians lefty democrats don't want to lose their gravy train!

  • A State Representative who happens to be a Blue Dog Democrat politician informed me that is exactly what he would like see happen! It is refreshing that their is at least one who hasn't voted for any of this enormous Pelosi/Obama spending and hasn't sipped from the toxic Obama kool aid!

  • 47 million? No, that is a survivalist attitude!

  • See the video: Obama tells Jane Sturm to take a pill

Because of private healthcare, the hippocratic oath, our judeo-christian values of life, patients and their doctors determine the value of the patients life- not the gov. When government decides to play God in order to determine the value of even one life all of humanity is devalued. When god, the patient and the doctor decide the value of one's life the answer is always priceless.

  • Sarah Palin called them death panels, and Obama said that it was not in the bill, (called her a lier) then he said the "death Panel" will be taken out. Are you really that misinformed? The town hall revolts are one of the biggest domestic outcries in history and the lamestream media is covering it up. Why is Fox News killing every other news outlet in America? The Dems must DROP THE PUBLIC OPTION if they want to reform health care. Nobody trusts Washington with the power over our lives.

  • hate to tell you that the anti war rallies where the biggest domestic outcries in history. there are no limitations nor death panels in the reform this neo-con up top addressing. misinformed and ignorance will get you nowhere.

  • The ant-war rallies were real manufactured hate the media drummed up and mind-melded sheeple who now think being patriotic means hating your country. Iraq was a tough but noble victory for the U.S. and Iraqis alike. The Iraqi people are free for the first time in their history to infact vote for Socialized health-care if they wish. YOu might try getting your info from multiple sources instead of 100% maistream biased media.

Read pgs 425-430 in bill. "end Of Life Services sec." It's in there

  • Iraq is an irrelevant topic here, my friend. I am starting to doubt you've read (or at least analysed and understood) the pages you send us to yourself!. I can't see why end-of-life counseling is a bad thing. In a country where people are kept "alive" for years on tubes, listening to their wish to go peacefully without suffering may actually help them! There is no mention of Euthanasia anywhere in the bill!

  • You're the ignorant one....why don't you read the bill yourself...on page 424, 425 and 426 it says mandate compulsory govrnment end of life consultation for seniors who have not had such a consultation within the last 5 years. I suggest you also read Healthcare, Guaranteed by Dr, Emanuel, who is largely reponsible for this bill. Page 88-95 talks about phasing out Medicare. Page 109 talks about ending employer based health care. Page 171, rush the bill thu, page 183 avoid discussing details

  • This man would have fitted in perfectly in Nazi Gemany. What a slime ball

  • As if private insurance doesn't ration? Are you kidding me!? Medicare has nothing on the type of rationing done by private insurance and I guess we are to prefer a corporate bureaucrat getting commissions by denying claims type health care? And talk about wait times, The 270 day wait period by Blue Cross "must be served before the member receives services or supplies or is admitted to the hospital." (From their manual)

  • You are potato head cock sucker who talks through your ass... You sold yourself mate!

  • Decisions to deny healthcare are made everyday right now by bureaucrat at the private insurance company. Also where are you pulling the info about Canada from ? Private insurance is dropping people who became too expensive from their plans. Private insurance increases their profit every year. And those profits have cost many people their lives.

  • YOU CANNOT KEEP YOUR INSURANCE!!!!!! my God, get a clue!

  • ridiculous, more people aren't dying in canada because they are given less back surgery! In the uk, if you want to have such surgery you dont deny the right of the needy to have potentially life-saving operations, and you pay extra to go private. It works.

  • U need to re-watch the show. He said they r giving less back surgeries and then went on to cancer!

  • i am aware of this, but his arguments are selective - you rewatch the clip and see how weak his argument is.

  • I red sum of the Bill annd it stayts that evreebuddys doktor will be eksicuted!!!! ..and replaystah with BYEROKRATS FROM KONGRASS!!! THE SENUHTERS ARR GOEENG 2 BE THE MEDIKOOL PROVeyeDERS!!! FIRE AND BRIMSTONE!! DON'T YOU DERE TUCH Meye MEDUHKARE!!!! SWEET HOME ALABAMA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA WHERE THE SKIES ARE SO BLUE! HELP MEEEEEE, I'M A DUMB REDNECK AND I CAN'T GET EDUCATED!!

  • Thank you mayor of the crazy people.rashning like the Innsurace people do now.Hey Dick whats in your 401k???? Iam sure it's healthy

  • I'm a Canadian. 1. the deaths you cite can be from numerous factors, not a direct result of healthcare. 2. the reform suggested in US is very diff. from the Canadian model. We don't allow private insurance, period. 3. since when do less poor people= less cancer cancer deaths? Cancer can be caused by many factors as well, not directly from healthcare provision. Obama's system is NOT Canadian. Stop sending out mixed messages.

  • Ya, so the Repubs got Sahra Palin. The hocky mom. I feel much safer now !!

  • What in the world makes any of these people posting here think that government is going to do a better job at health care than the private sector does?????? We see this all the time - some leftist points out that there is a problem with some private sector program, then jumps to the totally absurd conclusion that therefore the government should take it over. Name me something that the government has improved once they took it over.

  • Dick Moris shood be president in 2010.

  • The ignorance of economics on the part of some people is astounding. When private concerns control the health care they have to serve the public or go out of business. When the government controls it, they do whatever they please and if you don't like it - too bad. Consider how easy it is to renew a charge card (private concern) vs. how difficult it is to renew your drivers license (government).

  • Hickory- "When private concerns control the health care they have to serve the public or go out of business."

The CEO of United health care pays himself $102,000

    dollars an hour!

    $ 4 million dollars a week!!!!!!!!

The copay ( United Health Care) on my granddaughters birth was $5,000!!!!!!!!

And United is still in business ...serving the public! :)

  • Private insurance companies are about profits, that's all. This guy is worried about bureaucrats making health care decisions. That's exactly what happens now with private insurance companies. Some bureaucrat decides which procedures to pay for, and which to deny. They increase profits by purging the rolls. This guy is a nutcase. Don't believe him! He's on the Fox News (oxymoron) talking points mailing list.

  • Tell me again what's wrong with profit?

  • Healthcare should be non profit....simple.

  • That's not much incentive for advances or innovation.

  • Advances and innovation in medicine happens in countries all the time where there is National Healthcare. So what's your point? Medical innovation is funded partially bu our governments and partially from private donations like when you donate money to the cancer society etc.

  • So when our government begins to insure another 45 million people, will their allotment going to innovation go up or down?

  • Cedtoron, Why wouldn't it? Has it stopped any other industralised country yet.? You must think that the U.S.A are the only contributors to medical innovation when it's probably Germany where most pharmacutecal companies are in the world. Note: Germany has Universal care.

Those 45 million people you're talking about will also be contributing to National health through their taxes and costs of care will come down, because Insurance companies won't be making a profit.

  • I don't know what % of healthcare budgets other countries allot to advances. I do know where world leaders go when they need healthcare. What I don't understand is the need to follow other countries.

I hear all the time that we're ranked #37. We're ranked behind Cuba. But I'm sure you can understand why there's skepticism. What do these rankings mean? To me it boils down to one question. If you are in need of healthcare, insured or not, what country do you want to be in?

  • The reason US is ranked so low is b/c they look at the stats nationally. US is a great place for healthcare for insured Americans. High quality, great technology etc. But these rankings look at the entire population and since there's such a high number of Americans w/o health insurance, the ranking is horribly low. It comes down to this: do Americans think that healthcare is a benefit or a right? If you think that everyone has a right to health, then reform is the obvious route to go.

  • I think it comes down to more than that. If you classify healthcare as a right, certainly a noble thing to do, but the consequences of this infringe on others rights to choose their healthcare, is this the type of reform we want?

  • That's where I like Obama's plan actually. You guys get to keep your private insurers, so the choice is there. It's the uninsured that don't have a choice in the current system since they are financially or physically ineligible for insurance etc. I personally don't find the argument that private business will be driven out by govt very convincing. There are plenty of countries that have private insurance running alongside public ones and it works very well.

  • I got to tell you, I don't know you personally, so I won't cast this aspertion upon you, but for as much as the left demonizes big business in this country, there sure seem quite confident that big business will stick with their financial participation in private insurance if the public option is unveiled.

  • I'm not left. It's not confidence that makes me think big businesses will stick around. It's the fact that private and public business DO work together in many countries in Europe and around the world and that system has been proven to work in those countries, so personally, I find it a weak argument to speculate that business will die off when that hasn't happened in other places. Of course you have to take into account historical, institutional differences, but many countries have both systems

  • You'll have to forgive me if I seem skeptical. I've seen plenty of interviews with people in those countries you speak of who tell a different story.

It's not a weak argument to say that private insurance will suffer. In fact many of our congressmen and our president cast aspersions on private insurance for their efforts to seek a profit. That same profit-seeking effort can be found in the private employers who employ us. Losing our private option is a very real possibility.

  • You are definitely entitled to your opinion. I've seen the interviews and they're the reason I comment on this US reform. Americans aren't getting a balanced picture of how things are in other countries. You see interviews where people tell you what a disaster national healthcare is but these people are in a VERY small minority with very extreme views. As for private companies, I believe the public system will strain the private one. But to the extent of putting it out of business? Hardly.

  • Result of that will be drop in college students pursuing the health care profession. And the result of that will make the cost of health care higher because there will be less doctors. How would you like that? Why pay a shit load of money for an education where you get paid shit money?

  • Thank you for writing against this guy! These people need to stop spreading LIES about health care. I'm Canadian and it's making me mad how ugly a picture they paint about Canada that isn't true at all. Why don't they talk about the fact that more Americans are uninsured than the entire population of Canada? Why not mention how private interests spend multi-millions into these campaigns to stop reform. If you hate Obama reform, suggest something better!

  • Do you know math??? I mean you should, right??? Canda has FAR LESS people than the U.S.A. U have the audacity to compare AMERICA to Canada? There are more people in New York City than there is in YOUR Great Country called Canadia. Please take notice, of course we will have MORE people uninsured and even underinsured. THERE IS MORE THAN 300 million PEOPLE HERE. Why do Canadians come to the U.S.A. for HEALTH CARE??? I would like to know.

  • Yes, of course Canada has less people than the US, but we are talking about a HUGE population of people. There's no denying that many many Americans are uninsured and it's a huge problem. As for a very small proportion of Canadians going to US for health care, there are US citizens coming to Canada. So it really doesn't make your system better. Still lots of people w/o health care, still no solution.

  • Fannie seeks $10.7 billion in new US aid. The mounting price tag for the rescue of Fannie & its government-sponsored sibling, Freddie Mac, is surpassed only by insurer AIG Inc.,The total bailout for Fannie & Freddie nearly $96 billion. Washington-based Fannie & Va.-based Freddie own or guarantee almost 31 million home loans worth about $5.4 trillion. That's about half of all U.S home mortgages. With assets of that size, "it's hard for their problems to be small," Clintons mess still haunts.

  • You know the Dick Morris video I like best? Its the grainy video of him getting caught with a prostitute in a sleazy hotel room. That's a great vidcap. Dang that's a funny one.

  • Clinton started it. Black & Latino homeownership surged to the highest level ever recorded in the great housing boom of the 1990s. The number of black & Latino homeowners has increased by 2 mill. Clinton increased minority access to loans and capital by enforcement of the fair housing & lending laws. Add no oversite by Barney and Bush did nothing..Bam! Recession. Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac are required to devote 42% of their portfolios to loans for low- & moderate-income borrowers. Now pay more!

  • Bill Clinton didn't do this..the Republicans have had control over Congress for nearly two decades and didn't let anything the Democrats wanted pass....the Republicans deregulated all this so they could make fast money on high risk loans. Plain and simple. Fast money on high risk loans.

  • Clintons enforcement of the Community Reinvestment Act:

(LA Times) Home loans grew by 72% to blacks and by 45% to Latinos, far faster than the total growth rate. Lenders also have opened the door to minorities because of new initiatives at Fannie and Freddie --the giant federally chartered corporations that play critical roles in the home finance system. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac buy mortgages from lenders and bundle them into securities; that provides lenders the funds to lend more.

  • Thats exactly right..Freddie, Fannie...etc BUt it wasn't just houseing that started this. It was republican associated companies like AIG and let us not forget Enron , which is when it all hit the roof. They dereulated a market, fat cats got greedy and they bottomed out. Greed breeds corruption.

  • Companies like AIG took these bad deals from Freddie and Fannie put them in a blender and that is what brought down the economy, my point is Clinton started making Fannie and Freddie dole out loans to people that had no business buying a house. THAT is where the beginning of the credit crunch truly started. "Blaming the Republicans " is a narrow minded talking point of the liberal or progressive agenda. There is alot of blame on dems and rep politicians to go around. Started w/Clinton, my point.

  • CLinton didn't make any companies do anything. When the greedy control Wall Street, which they have since the Republicans have had control of congress and the presidency, then its bad for everyone. Greed breeds corruption and thats what has happened. To think that you would be against payinga couple extra bucks each year just to help a sick dying child is pathetic. The repubs are self centered and greedy.

  • Walk into any US Hospital, you will be treated. You spend your life depending upon lies, disinformation, misrepresentations, false hopes, expectations of the Mother of all "Free Lunches", and last of all, a "Utopia" that exists exclusively somewhere in the dusty corners of your mind and the minds of all who think as you do. Good luck with that. Grab your socks dude, you're gonna' get screwed!

Linda Douglas can take her place in the Dan Rather Hall of Fame.

    Change It Back!

  • You are absolutely wrong. THis includes Doctors office visits as well. The Doctors office that is connected to that hospital but is 15 miles away, would not take me unless I made 1/2 payment on my 2 year old $75 balance. I made payments when I could. Also, how do you expect someone like me to pay over $1,000 a month for my Epilepsy medication? You are very ill informed and probably have insurance.

  • All that's needed is regulation and a billing system based on fair income practices. Not a Socialist takeover. Gov is too intrusive, and needs to begin common sense spending and deficit reduction reform. The GDP continues to drop, the economy is 2x worse than expected. Irresponsible Gov growth will do nothing but retard recovery. They do this on purpose you know.

Uncovered Video: Obama Explains How His Health Care Plan Will 'Eliminate' Private Insurance

  • If this Obamacare is such a great idea for us, please explain why the Dems in Congress refused to include a provision in the current committee bill to include themselves?

That's right...they exempt themselves from nationalized health care, yet try to shove it down our throats. Nothing should give folks a clearer picture.

Search for "Waxman exempts Congress from healthcare" to see details. Any Libs want to defend this act or just call us names?

  • That's appears to be a good point except for the fact that these corrupt greedy assholes have always had a different health care plan and retirement plan than the public, and they don't intend to change.

  • It is un-American to want handouts, most American's believe a government that governs least governs best. If you want to persue a dream of being rich, you can become what you want (it's called freedom). Each American is an individual not a pillar. The deadbeats and lazy blood suckers are the ones in the US pushing for Deathcare for grampa and grandma. We do things different in the US, the world is confused by this . Those who want socialism should move to sweden, they will have our leftovers.

  • It is not the role of federal government to nationalize private industries. If the states want to do it, and their citizens so chose, then it's there perogative. Federal government is limited to few enumerated powers as authorized by the constitution.

This should not even be a topic for discussion at the Federal level!

  • I have the bill on PDF (aval. on internet from the house of rep.) Page 425 does in fact require anAdvance Care Planning Consultation every 5 yrs. It includes living wills and durable

powers of attorney, and their uses. (E) An explanation by the practitioner of the continuum of end-of-life services and supports available, including palliative care and hospice, and benefits for such services and supports that are available under this title.

Rationing creeping death for the elderly.

  • All Americans do have healthcare. Anybody in the U.S. can walk into a hospital and be treated for whatever illness etc. you have. All that's needed is regulation and a billing system based on fair income practices. Not a Socialist takeover. Gov is too intrusive, and needs to begin common sense spending and deficit reduction reform. The GDP continues to drop, the economy is 2x worse than expected. Irresponsible Gov growth will do nothing but retard recovery. They do this on purpose you know.

  • Add a mustache and he'd look eerily like Mr. Dursley...

  • Government Healthcare from the who brought you

the effectiveness of the postal service and the compassion

    of the IRS.

    There's a good idea.

  • The government that governs least governs best"...right? Thomas Jefferson just called in said he's glad he's dead.

Socialism: You have two cows. The government takes one of your cows and gives it to your neighbor. You're both forced to join a cooperative where you have to teach your neighbor how to take care of his cow.

  • Economists are living in a fantasy world. With fantasy planets having unlimited ressources and with people whos only duty is to consume (with freedom of choice of course) whether they need it or not. The USA is a mess. Look at the infrastructure, the homeless and poor people. Your industry oriented government has ruined millions of lifes in a few decades around the world. The USA is a drisgrace for mankind. Your fear of public health care fits well into the big picture.

  • Funny to hear that somebody could possibly destroy a medical system, which isn't existing.

You don't have a medical care system in the US. What you've got is a big lobby party of pharma corporations and you patients are nothing else than a depot for mostly useless and harmful chemicals.

People don't die from cancer. They die because of the treatment.

  • Some of comments here are truly incredible. People high school educations pretending to have a grip on economics at a national level.

They and the liberals who may or may not have more education are easy to spot because librals almost always resort to grade school level insults - dumb or stupid. Oh wait didn't our liberal (socialist) president just use that one. And like most liberals he didn't know what he was talking about either. He spoke with little knowledge of the event and looked a fool.

  • Dick Morris, you don't know shit about economics.

I can't believe people like you continue to exist on this planet. How do you live with yourself? Do you not know that you're an unctuous slimeball who would destroy this country to earn a few bucks, or do you just not care?

    You live a sad life.

  • YOU SUCK

  • Thanks Dick! You are helping the greedy corporatists live for another day! God bless you, you useless twit!

  • The only reason every American is not covered is because our military budget is out of control . Why do we rank 31st in healthcare worldwide when we are the wealthiest nation ? Canada has a greater standard of healthcare than the USA according to the world health organiztion . They also pay less taxes contrary to popular belief . Americans pay 60 cents on the dollar in combined taxes ! Sweden is almost as high , but they have free healthcare and college !! Also the greatest standard of living .

  • We need to continue to invest in military. Sweden is a joke in the international community. The US military is the only thing we have to keep us safe. THe US leadership: OBama, Biden and next commander in line Pelosi could not successfully manage an Ice Cream stand on their own.

  • Unless someone is in the military, he doesn't need to be worried about that kind of safety. I don't think soldiers (at least foreign soldiers) are going to show up at a million Americans' doors, and the only government that bombed civilians was the U.S. (at least in the big picture, considering the bombs killed millions).

  • As for the American public, the reality that Obama is not up to the job seems to finally be setting-in; the poll numbers are now headed steadily south- is he already facing his Waterloo on this legislation?

Barack Obama will never say to your face what he actually plans to do. Everything's rolled-out in a Trojan horse. Theyll be no private insurance industry left after five years. Why should we give Government medical insurance to 15 million illegals?

  • Hopefully this will be his 911 (where Obama takes on Osama's role of destroying capitalism).

We are actually fortunate he surrounds himself with radicals. He makes political mistakes his comrades cannot filter out, because they don't know what is acceptable to ordinary Americans. His narcicism causes him to overexpose himself, which allows people to see through the media lovefest.

How scary would it be if Obama were actually competent and had a plan?

  • "Narcissism causes him to overexpose himself"

Obama has done more speeches in six months than GWB did in eight years and manages to say nothing. My eyes gloss over when i hear Obama's voice because he speaks in emotional terms not in a factual issue related way. He speaks to liberals that want to disseminate the texture of Obama's wordsmithing. I however, find him to be deceitful and misleading; everything he does is brought out in a Trojan horse. Obama speeches are empty and vapid.

  • ttfksong: Capitalism is already gone. You won't notice it unless you have to sell your personal belongings and a new appartment beneath a bridge or in a tent camp. Just wait a bit. Every month e few 100,000 of your folks are going bankcrupt. A public health care would be a new color on the palette. At least lots new jobs would be created. And thats whats its all about, isn't it? Time to look at the side where the heart is - left.

  • Because the 15 million illegals are making your life possible. Or do you prefer to have them in your appartment, taking away your precious products? Share your wealth or you'll be manhandled by the poor.

  • obama is a disgusting creature, he spends 8 trillion of taxpayer money on porkbarrel earmark spending and give the money to big banker CEOS and goldman sachs and wants to cut back on Americans medical care!?!?!? he is a real peice of work, a real demon, so is the entire senate if they pass this crap.

  • I agree.... I voted for Obama, but, as yodasprite said "he has said what he needed to get elected", nothing more.. Obama has put us in debt, and is digging us a hole thats already too deep for us to get out of.. Everytime you hear bailout, trillion dollar package, etc, that equals MORE tax, higher taxes, less freedom for us... I'm sorry, but Obama has failed, and I liked him, and I voted for him, but the fact is, Obama has the gift of speech, he talks a good game, but nothing more,

  • What a bunch of crap!! Did you even read the bill? How can you compare this bill H.R. 320 to Canada's health care system? They aren't anything alike. This isn't UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, it's a bill that will require everyone to carry health INSURANCE. Can you understand the difference there? If you can't afford a policy, you go on Medicare but that's the way it is now!! Stop trying to sell your bogas book and do some real research for a change.

  • Did you read what you just said? "A bill that will REQUIRE EVERYONE to carry health insurance!" THAT my friend is NOT a democracy but a socialist system. Oh, by the way, if you DON'T get health insurance, you will be fined!! Please, let's get RID of Obama and his policies before he RUINS the country!!

  • Well, your a little too late to start screaming "socialist" when everyone is required to have car insurance & a SS card. No you don't get fined, My Friend, your required to pay your expense of being covered by Medicare. And added tax at the end of the year.

  • "House Democrats want to require individuals and employers to get health insurance -- or pay a penalty.

For individuals, the penalty would be 2.5 percent of income -- but it could go no higher than the average cost of health insurance.

The penalty for employers would be much higher -- 8 percent of a worker's wages -- with an exemption for small businesses. Business groups are strongly opposing an employer requirement."

  • I don't know who your quoting here but if business groups are opposing this bill it isn't because of the requirement to carry health care for employees, they've been doing that for years for the tax breaks in the IRS codes put in place in 1986. My thought is, like my employer, they have gotten away with offering an inferior coverage (meeting the IRS requirement) but with the new coverage of a basic plan they can't get away with it.

  • I voted for Obama, but Dicks right, this guy is just a flat failure. He has promised and said anything to get elected, I see it now and, well come election, he's "FIRED"

  • The USA has more cancer deaths per 100 thousand deaths than the UK, it has a low ranking in the WHO it is a crap system, end of story.

  • So what is wrong with that.

  • It would be funny if you named it Obamanation

  • If all medicine was cheap and free, there would be absolutely no incentive for pharmaceutical companies or doctors to stay in the US. The quality and quantity of new drugs to hit the marked would decrease and every doctor with a "Funny Name" you go back to their home country. Why stay here and pay outrageous incurance premiums when they can make just a much somewhere else? There's a reason Belinda Stronach (a member of Canad's Parliment) came to California for cancer treatment.

  • I suggest is Obama regulate Ins co's and hospitals. if u have ins a blood test cost 1500.00if u dont and pay cash its $400. this is the problem . Obama should look at all the people that need ins and set up a program with ins co;s at a lower cost and the govt pay there ins premiums every month. we have free hospitals and clinics now. That sounds easier than the medical comm. being run by Govt. .

  • This is why they ignored Ron Paul & kept him out of the spotlight. Ron Paul warned us about Mr Obama. Mr Obama may have met well, but his decision are tied to his family's well being. The federal hate clan has shown him countless acts against the American people with no accountability. The proper people has not been held accountable for JFK's assignation or his brother. Just like JFK President Obama could be and noone would be the wiser. American are programmed not to think for themselves.

  • This guy is PURE evil!!! EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING he does is to put a couple more dollars in his pocket. He will LIE, CHEAT, or do whatever it takes to put a couple more dollars in his pocket. EVIL!!! Pure EVIL!!!

  • Right now many companies are spending billions and billions of dollars paying for health insurance for their employees. Health insurance that doesn't even guarantee that they will get the services they need. Erase the actual system and they get the services, the companies save the money and the nation catches up with the rest of the developed nations. The US is BARELY ahead of Slovenia in healthcare quality!!! It is BEHIND Colombia!!! AND Morocco!!!!

    It is intolerable.

  • Do not go by the WHO statistics? You have to look at the bigger picture. If you just took infant mortality in Utah and compare it with the EU we are in the top 5.

One of the components the EU does not report is premature birth deaths. We do.

The US system is very good when you have insurance. It is veryu affordable. Also, private insurers have lower admin cost compared to medicare. Even with the taxes paid to the goverment.

  • Don't worry about it Dick, somone will eventually get tired of the bullshit Ass-bama's doing and decide to sacrifice their lives for this country and they'll assassinate him. He's cutting his own throat with every fascist policy he shoves down our throats for the good of the world, one Nazi policy at a time. He had betetr start listening to warnings of discontentment by the American people, that's all I have to say.

  • Health Care in USA is ranked 54th (Pay more and get lots lots less)

USA is only developed country not to offer health care to citizens

US is 41st in world in infant mortality Cuba scores higher

Women are 70% more likely to die in childbirth in America than in Europe

Leading cause of death of pregnant women in USA is murder

US is dead last in the growth rate of total compensation to its workforce; they worker longer hours than any other nation & with least vacation time!

  • dick morris is as bright as a coal mine. We thought he was dead, pity. morris is such a sexually frustrated closet type that he's beyond rabidly vile, he's at the anndrew coulter level of illness. We can only hope his mouth will be filled with cement soon. What a douchebag.

  • The ABC special was a joke. No pen forum. Canned questions and called the CEO of a major corp by the wrong name.

I think if there was a re vote for the president, there would be a different outcome. We all knew who Obama was. He is a radical who is very left. My friends and colleagues who voted for him see that now.

  • The reason why infant mortality is lower than the EU, is because in the US we include all deaths in our infant mortality. Including the ones that are born pre mature. The EU does not calculate this into the numbers. Also, if you took a look at Utah which is more like an EU nation the numbers of infant mortality are better then in the EU.

  • Do you read what you write before you post it? Your English is horrible.

  • Perhaps you should learn how to write before you attempt to give civics lessons.

  • Sounds great the sooner the better.

  • This company was flying high six months ago and now it is dead? All because of Obama? He has only been President for six months, you are obviously full of shit. It is ironic that you are whining about a cigar fatory closing in the middle of a thread on health care. I wonder how much tax payer money has been spent on health care as a result of their cigars since 1902. Hav-a-Tampa should be paying the tax payers back for all the money spent and pain they have caused. Fuck Hav-A-Tampa!

  • You can always tell the intelligence of a small man by the language he uses. obama will destroy this economy....just wait and see.

  • Bush already destroyed it. Open your eyes.

  • Your offense to one word gives you license to avoid the whole subject of the comment? You wouldn't know the truth if you heard it.

  • It doesn't offend me. I think partisanship is good, not for any ideological reason, but for the practical reason that it prevents government expansion. Obviously people shouldn't vote for something just because their "party" supports it...they shouldn't vote for something, because voting for anything only extends the reach of government force into the lives of everyday people.

  • By the way those who are interested in the real truth should make a point of watching the Presidents town hall meeting on health reform that was on earlier today.. you can do it at CNN... I suggest doing it before you consider buying this idiots book as you will clearly see he is a bold faced liar.

  • Yea, stop listening to one politician to listen to another, lol.

  • One is an elected official.. the other is not.. one has been chosen to lead our country.. the other has been discarded and has been known to be disgruntled as a result. I think I will listen to the president.. especially when what he does can actually have an effect on my life and the country.. your guy not so much.. but hey... perhaps you prefer to be left in the dark.. good luck with that.

  • bullshit.
