Just how "old" is that? Its joyful music but in the old line Pentecostal Church

everybody wore black and women were NEVER allowed on the platform.

I have personally known and studied many of the Apostolic elders of the 20th century- a few of whom are still alive. I know for a fact they are disgusted with the musical trends of the Apostolic movement. That does not make them Nazis or any such thing. You are free to disagree with them. But you both cannot be right. I trust them.

I enjoy the singing and the old hymns. However, slightly taken aback by the comment of not rapping...as if rap cannot be a form of praise. I think artists like The Ambassador, Flame, 116 Clique, Brothatone, and many others have illustrated how rap can be used to spread the gospel and praise the Lord. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be too deep about the comment, but I do believe that it is due to those types of comments that keep rap labeled as bad, not Godly, and etc

@musikman2004 Rap music(AND i USE THE TERM "MUSIC" LOOSELY) is a form of entertainment hatched in the pits of hell, and has no place in the church or the life of a Christian. There is no such thing as Christian rap- any more than there is Christian whiskey, Christian strip dancing, Christian fornication, Christian curse words etc... It embodies the essence and attitudes of worldly pop culture which is in direct opposition to the teachings of the Bible.

@sensibleadult Be careful! The style of music in this video originated from "wordly" music, as did just about every other style of 'Christian' music. It has roots in blues, rock n' roll, jazz, pop, etc. There are some religious chants that may be considered 'original' but music is music. The words and meaning of the song are what make it Gospel...NOT the style!

And yes, I have heard your argument before, about " all gospel came from the secular field" and even the tune to "Amazing Grace" was a "drinking song" That is the standard line used by people who want no boundaries whatsoever- which is really the sum total of your view; am I correct?

The style of music makes classical music classical, it makes country music country, it makes blues music blues, it defines what is bluegrass, heavy metal,punk rock, reggae, and right on down the line, as far as you want to take it. EVERY type of music can be classified according to the style.
