I am going in July,as a part of a trip to SE-Asia,first to see Angkor Vat in Cambodia, but it looks like Laos is going to be a very nice surprise,it might be even better!
I am very appreciated for recommending our country as one of the great place to visit. I love the music too, but I was wondering what language is the song, and its meaning?
I never heard spoken language of Nepal. But the lyric of the song sound a lot like Pali, which is the language of the Buddha. So, it have some sort of connection to Laos.
what was the name of the temple at the begging?

Yes....we bought the music CD there, but didn't know it wasn't traditional Lao music. Still, for this purpose, it works. We'll know better next time.

I have to admit that I don't have details for the music. I bought it in Luang Prabang in 2005 but now can't find the disk or case. Sorry.

Our next stop was Kathmandu, Nepal...where we bought the music as "authentic Laotion." Still, it's cool.
