I'm not meaning to insult or offend anybody, but how do Americans know that they are pronouncing the word "about" correctly? Think about it, you guys pronounce it as if it were written "abowt". Say "ow". Then, say "about". Canadians tend to enunciate the "u". That I why we sound different.
