@etrax2000 "Hustler" has many meanings. The main one is that they "hustle" (take you) for money in a somewhat scheming manner. All these guys are "hustlers" in the truest sense of the words but they certainly aren't prostitutes. They really work hard at "hustling" their way through the world. Some people like them become very wealthy & successful. I hope that's their future in these hard times.
@jackscal1 Not really--but I've been there & done that. The misphrasing was on purpose but not terribly inaccurate. The "ring-leader" was the kine of personality type that would be out "hustling" in any way he could to make a fast & easy buck.
@RandolfeWicker male prostitution is not as easy as some think, not if you want to offer a quality service, return custom and you have to get something out of it to keep doing it,however, there are hustlers out there who are just out to rip their johns off.
@jackscal1 In my life, I have been -- at various times times -- a hustler, a john & a madam. Hustling Hollywood Blvd for one summer was the hardest & most valuable "learning experience" I've had in life. It made working a dull 9 to 5 job for the rest of my life a cinch. I'm glad I did that but I don't recommend it to others. For most people it's extremely self destructive & in this age of AIDS, it's a messy way to commit suicide.
I used to have a fantasy! As the owner of a shop, I would get a gun and shoot customers who came in, piling them up in the back room like killed deer. Now, at some point, folks/cops would realize what was going on. They'd surround the shop & kill me. Two things would happen. (1) I would immediately become a national legend. & (2) I'd immediately be a hero to every shop-owner in America. Retailers really come to "hate" most of their customers & for good reason. Most Customers are creeps!!!
I should have said that people "in business for themselves" soon discover that they are not "in charge". They might be the "boss" of their underlings but the "customer" is really the ultimate boss. People never seem to understand that. I learned it myself "the hard way" by being a "boss" for 30+ years of a business I owned. "Customers" are the worst bosses of all!..continued in next comment..
My toes nearly froze off. My hands got so cold the camera shook when it came my time to hold it. The snow melts on your clothes so you loose heat even more quickly. It is a hard way to make a few bucks. However, you have to really respect their spunk & energy. Finding a job during Christmas holidays, especially one where you can mostly set your own schedule, isn't that easy. Even if they don't make much, they've gone into business for themselves & have discovered customers like bosses.
don't call them hustlers, that means prostitutes

Very high overhead costs. I don't expect they make much money, and what a yucky job. Wow. What people do for money! Blessings +^+^+
