@mystikall89 Yeah, completely different shows, but both amazing. Ricky was and is a great comedian, and has a formula that works every time. Brand is more of a personality, albeit an interesting one. Still, in terms of pure entertainment, some of Brand's shows stories match anything from the Gervais Show. Brand's boat story and Lock's talking pets were amazing.

I do like both of them but Gervais is being a bit of a git in this interview. I LOVE how Russell puts Ricky in his place @ 1:29. He's used that bit so many times and Russell demolishes him purely off the top of his head.

gervais' humour comes from his experience in being fat and living a real life. this will never happen to russell as his humour is definitely not from everyman living.

its horses for courses - both of them are great for different reasons. ricky is not funny just because hes fat, but he uses his everyman look. russell is funny regardless of appearance (though it means weak-kneed women will laugh whether hes funny or not sometimes).

PS "jarvis" is doing what he always does in interviews - joking!

'Gervais has a masters degree'. So what? What is a degree except a piece of paper? Philosophy is subjective and to revere someone based on a piece of paper that has been given to them is not intelligence. Plus I like Russell but people revere him too much as well he is quite smart and thoughtful but at the same time he sometimes has verbal diarrhea when he starts over using his vocabulary. Memorising a dictionary also doesn't equate to any special kind of intelligence.
