joel10000a Isaia 40:31 is talking about waiting on the Lord and renewing your strength. This is exactly what soaking is... this is what the video is talking about.
Its meditating on The Word of God,people think of New Age.like the one below...I completely disagree according to The Old Testament (& New).If you actually read your Bible, look it up in the concordance.
Nor is the word 'rapture'.. nor are there "church"buildings, worship teams, and much of what describes modern Christianity. But God will use them, if our hearts are right towards Him.
The Bible is just an outline, and comes nowhere near all there is to God, or the things of God. As long as what we do is from a pure heart, doesn't contradict the Word of God, and yields good fruit, it's a "go". There is a whole new world of experiencing God, and we have barely scratched the surface!
@cindydg AMEN!! I believe 2 Cor 6-16 proves what you say is true!!! So many things we have to look forward to, that are not spelled out in the Bible!!! These are only discerned by our spirits, and the world CANNOT participate, because they are not supernaturally united with God's Spirit!!!
@cindydg I would suggest you watch the video on youtube called The Gods of the New Age, which show how Christianity has been infused with Eastern Hindu Mysticism and Yoga practices through such practices. This is just paganism and yoga with Christian termenology.
This is nothing else then Christian meditation or contemplation if you like. Much of this is nothing else then what monks and nuns have been doing in more then 1900 years or so. Great that people from the so called free churches now find this out. Perhaps soon they will also see what great thing Communion is! :-)
This is not Christian meditation. Christian meditation is meditating on the Word of God - mulling it over and over in your mind, a particular verse, that is, until it becomes "alive" to you.
Yes I do. There is no other way to be a Christian as far as I can see.
When it comes to Christian meditation you are right in one way. Meditation is to ruminate the Word so to say. But to be even more precise that use to be done with something form The Gospels - that is to say anything in the bible where Jesus himself is in the acting or saying. To meditate then is to try to get yourself into that situation and live it. However perhaps yo noted that I was also talking about contemplation?
I hate to sound judgemental but I am a little unsettled about this.
I know the need for prayer and to rest in the Lord, but it seems this "soaking" is a little New Age, especially with how it's being marketed as "the new thing".
Go to an old school Pentecostal church and you'll likely see a concentration on prayer and waiting on the Lord, but I just have a problem with Christians trying to be cool, trendy, or how ever you say in their worship. Like it's a new hobby or something.
when you really look at it that's why people don't like church because it is not desirable to them or it's a little old school. God shows us new ways to reach his people. The bible says even we should also walk in the newness of life. Where we become relational not religious.
Jesus is apparently not enough any more, people who participate in this hype are just betraying the fact that they are disappointed with boring old Jesus and his sacrifice, which granted us full access to the throne, was not 'enough' for them, they want MORE. (e.g. emotional thrills)
David danced before the Lord, and was emotional about it! What's better, praising and worshiping the Lord with all your might, or sitting on a pew and moping?
Today I was meditating and this thought came into my mind,"Where two or three are gathered in my Name I am in the Midst of them" Matt18:20
The Spirit of Jesus and Abba Father LIVE Inside of Christian Believers!Jesus says, there is a Special Manifestation of His Presence when we come together to pray and worship.I Trust Jesus!
There is the authentic Seeking of the Lord and their is a Counterfeit from the Devil's Kingdom of Darkness, including, almost everything else that the Word teaches Us.

No, this is totally different. Don't judge it until you have tried it!

I can´t understand why you say I judge this? I´ve been doing christian meditation for some years now. I´m not judging!

I have been doing this for over 25 years. We call it Seeking the Lord's Face or Waiting on the Lord. Lying Prostate, on your knees or sitting.
Blessed is the man that hears me, watching daily at my gates,WAITING at the posts of my doors. Prov 8:34
Isaiah 40:28-31 But they that WAIT upon the LORD shall renew their strength;...
Seek the LORD,and his strength:Seek his Face Evermore. Psalms 105:4; 1 Chron 16:11

I think a lot of times we focus on what we want and lay out demands or requests of God without ever thinking to be still and know that HE is God.
