@alainhammond oh, okay... btww, you are spammed on one of my videos, maybe the do not like your... :=)) ((=: ... looks like 2 spooners reading the morning news over a cuppa coffee.. must be the mood music in the background, yes ?? Good weekend to you, gotta go study some blue, I got a lot 2 lern...
@alainhammond good mood?? I am an honest blues lover and a good sport who admits they lost like the lakers, and May 21 the world will end as we know it, I think, I hear this makes sense to the wise who know....
I must learn more licks, not for him I needed, not allowed to lick him I need, so I need more blue to chase blue away, yes ??
I've played keyboards since 1984. Tried almost everything BUT a Hammond organ. I now have some high end stuff in my arsenal but lately I've become aware just how powerful this classic really is. It fits into almost any type of music if you know how to use those drawbars. Yeah, I know it ain't a REAL Hammond - it's an accurate clone. I comment on the general classic-ness. It NEVER goes out of style! Synthesizers which were $4000 new end up being $150 in 10 or 15 years. Long live the tonewheel!
Tony . Each Generation somene new. Your love, your passion, your talent as the Master Jazz Organist is beyond question and doubt. I invite all your avid listeners and continued new arrivals to your music to sit back, relax, have the total faith that you .. The Artist,, is really going to take them somewhere else . SPECTACULAR MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This Trio is Outstanding!!! That Tony Monaco guy is something else! This guy not only plays with his hands but, with his face also! Watching him play, you can't help but feel the emotions behind it. Either your like aaaaarrrrhhhh!!! Yes! or your like BREATH MAN, BREATH your going to die if you don't BREATH!!!
You know I had the chance to break away and come back fresh and listen to this tune again, I must say that, you're right on the money, this guy is in the same class, he smokes that Hammond.
This tune is funky, soulful and groovey. How can you not Dance to this, one must be dead.
Tony is great. But I think he would sound better with the Leslie on Chorale speed then Tremolo, instead of Stop and Tremolo. Great player none the less...
I play mostly punk/alternative/ska but ever since I was little the sound of a B3 has been my favorite I've ever heard come out of any instrument, hands down. It's used in the blues and reggae/ska, which I grew up on. Definitely am going to check out more B3 artists!
Had to come and listen to this again for the upteenth time. I heard Tony play this at the Jazz Kitchen in Indianapolis, Indiana. (Same guitarist who is very good also) I have been a fan of his ever since. Have his 6 CD's (autographed by him) and 2 of his Instructional DVD's. Will never be able to hold a candle to him, but I love the Hammond B3, GO TONY!!!!!
This is one of the best jazz tributes I've ever heard and Monaco is one of the most talented modern B3 jazz organists living. This music is so smooth for the ear to listen to. Jimmy Smith and other jazz and blues organists from the 50s and 60s will live on through Tony and other modern jazz organists.Joey DeFrancesco is another great jazz organist from today.
Tony..Thanks for "keeping it Alive"!! Me being an "old guy", I grew up with The Jimmy's (Smith and McGriff) and I've got to say You've got it DOWN brother!!!
I just saw this dude live in Nashville, TN tonight (w/Chester Thompson on drums and Andy Reiss on guitar) at the Nashville Jazz Workshop. OUTRAGEOUS!! It can't be legal to play that fast! I was blown away. Tony would pick whatever song came to mind and they would JAM like it was the second coming of Christ. I'm in awe!

yes sir! that is smooth as butter and cool as ice, ive seen tony live at a little free park show....he is absolutly AMAZING live, if you ever have the chance to go see him, DO SO! great song. 5/5
This guy is one of the very best. what a brilliant and heartfelt tribute to the great Jimmy Smith..... If I ever go to Americ, or Tony M comes over to the UK.... then i am gonna see this guy - cos he is awesome.
Tony and Louie have this "cable" connecting their heads together that keeps them not only in perfect sycnc. but enables these two to know what the other guy is going to do before he does it. MOST amazing thing. The Guitar guy is just awesome too. You people out there in tube land, if you ever get a chance to see these guys live, DO NOT MISS the chance. The show at Nightown, Cleveland with "Fathead" Newman was just AMAZING! and I mean AMAZING...
Thanks for keeping the Flame alive, when I saw Jimmy play the music flowed out of him like water, soft as a babys bottom and then so hard I thought the windows were going to shatter!
Man, very tasty and expressive guitar! Great organ groove! And the drummer is right there!! Have to catch you all the next time you come thru Michigan, for sho.
His solo says nothing to you but it says something to him. Give the gentlemen some credit. E.g, he's playing solo behind Tony Monaco, so he must be doing something right. I LOVE the bass at 2:34, I love the drummers Blues Swing. I'd be friggin honoured to watch them live.
Hey man, have you every listened to Jimmy Smiths guitar player(s)? He plays totally in the style man, and if you look at him, especially if you were there at the taping, you would be able to tell thats all love and soul spilling out off his hands onto his guitar. Thats what makes a good musician.
I missed him at the Jazz kitch. when he was here but I see now I won't miss him again Mannnnn!!!! I see why his best music organ buddy is JoeyD!!! My Goodness!
Naw man, something always pops up the same time and I have to go play somewhere. I want to catch him and especially JoeyD again hopefully. Joey really inspires me big time reguardless of my great older church friends says' I wish I could set on a stool on 1 of their rehearsals by them and just smile!!!
I keep coming back to listen to this!I love it when these guys switch to the "ballpark" sound towards the end of their solos. It just takes the intensity level way up. As far as living players,I think Tony,Joey D,Dr.Lonnie Smith, and Bill Heid are the best
Tony will be playing in Edinburgh, Scotland next weekend 24 & 25 September 06' at the Jazz Bar Chambers Street. Can't wait!...he is going to teach my B3 how to be a B3!!!!
Wonderful tribute to the master from another Master of the B3. Thanks Tony for this video. It really moved me!! And thanks for all your GREAT music!! Hope you post more videos.
Hey If your a keyboard player and would like to join my new Teacher/Student group. Visit youtube LearnKeyboards and start a new journey with all kinds of great comrades:-)~Tony Monaco
Saw Tony play at the Jazz Kitchen in Indy 2-4-06. Will never forget it, going back this year to see him also. This guy stayed and talked to people during the breaks.
Jesus. I have never ever needed to wipe my eyes so much listening to an organ. That's the most incredible thing I have ever seen or heard in my life..This guy is now my guru
I've seen Tony play three or four times when I have visited Columbus. He was very nice and humble. Tony gave me great advise about playing the B3. I would like to see more of him on You Tube.

Saw Tony play at the Jazz Kitchen in Indy 2-4-06. Will never forget it, going back this year to see him also. This guy stayed and talked to people during the breaks.

I've seen Tony play three or four times when I have visited Columbus. He was very nice and humble. Tony gave me great advise about playing the B3. I would like to see more of him on You Tube.
