Weird Pikmin Glitch

its happend to me i think its you call the pikmin off from the top of the onion and i think it decets the pikmin inside the onion if that is not the case than ???

I found what causes that glitch! If a pikmin with a flower dies there is a chance that it will drop a seed those "21" pikmin were the seeds that don't sprout until the next day the "50" pikmin on field is how many pikmin aren't seeds left by flower pikmin.

some times my pikmin would mysteriously vanish after battle and reappear in the ground where i lost them the next day...

@ThePikminator No Its normal if your flower pikmin die in a spot a sprout will appear right there!
