Ok, look, u got a really pretty voice. just need to work a little on pronunsation n then u can try using a piano or keybord so u practice the right notes if u knoq to play it. If you dont then listen other versions, it helps a lot, really. I have to lear this song for my vocal exam in university, is not to hard to learn and i sing horrible, worst than many people. Hope it helps u n dont listen the asshols ;D luck !
hey. screw all these guys. i think what you need is an accompaniment. in a song that difficult with so many notes all over the place, you need something that will sort of support you. its hard to do italian a capella! so i applaud you for putting this up. you have nothing to be ashamed of. just get some accompaniment and youll be fine.
Try to stay in the same key, instead of singing random notes. It's very simple to fix - perhaps singing with a karaoke track will help you focus your voice!
Let me congratulate for your interest in this kind of music, this talks well of you. I think that nobody is born knowing how to sing well. Even if you dont plan to be a professional singer, my advice would be to try to keep on singing as a way of therapy. If you could get a teacher or a vocal coach I am sure you could improve a lot. Since you are young I am sure you will recover your voice. Best wishes
u have some good qualities in your voice but your pronunciation of the words is completely horrid!! it's not mo(rear) it's moreer, with a light r. and you did change keys quite a bit. i wouldn't sing this song acappela anyways.
I'm gonna follow along with everyone else. You have a pleasant timbre to your voice. try not to lose the spin as you hold out those longer notes. and yea, be sure to not change the key. Granted I'm sure you would have stayed on pitch if you had a piano playing with you. Keep up the work!
round your vowels a little more and don't breath so heavily...otherwise other things i could say is look more at the camera and pretend it's an audience---this is only constructive criticism...i hope you take it as such :) keep up the hard work
It was ok but anyone can realize that you were a little afraid, you let your voice free louder ...I originally speak spanish and the english r is not the italian r or the spanish r ...you have potential you are good and come on I know you can be better ...see you
And you know what? I don't sing anymore. You know why? I got a severe blood clot in my right lung enabling me to breathe properly and screwing up my vocal cords. So as I was getting better (mind you this video was made 2 years ago) I lost my voice altogether. So thank you very much for your comment. I'll be sure to follow your advice.
@FallenAngelle07 I'm so sorry honey for your problem!!!! I hope you get better soon!!! I don't think you are that bad!! Even without lessons!!!! I don't know why people get sooooooo mean!!!!!!! I hope you can continue!!
you constantly change the colour of your voice, improve the pronunciation, the breathing must no be noticed, no vibratto because this is an antique aria and vibratto was not used or even known at that time, some advices only, I use to sing that aria aswell and these are corrections that my teacher made to make me improve :) (sorry, my english is terrible)
You sing well, you need to work on your diction and pronunciation of some of the words (I'm having trouble with that bit myself) Obviously the video quality doesn't help but you have good tone, open your mouth more though and lift your soft pallet (what you feel in the back of your mouth when you are about to yawn.
i don't know what are this people talking about it is not easy to do this..well is not perfect..you just need more practice..thats all..keep working on it!!!
Pitches were off, and also, work on your pronunciation, or your diction for the song. Instead of pronouncing the words with proper Italian diction, you sang it with an American accent.
Thank you for the awesome advice. I'll look up other performances on this song to improve my diction. My high school teacher tried her best to pronounce it with an Italian accent but she's american herself lol.
You have a very nice voice, but as others have noted, you are changing keys midway through the song. Try singing with accompaniment; it's understandable that you'd mess up without it.
You have a really nice voice :) I'm doing this song at the moment and not speaking a word of Italian I am stuck on the proununciation so came on here to hear it properly.
Were you singing with music? You may do better with the music or accomp because on the scia of the 'O lasciate' you're dropping a fraction too low. Only noticed coz I'm following the sheet music.
I am Singing this song too. My solo is next week! You did pretty dang good on the pronuciation. You need to work on your intonation a little, but you did really good. especially on camera without accompanimant. You are doing a lot better than me though, and you do not need voice lessons. you have a good enough voice to be singing in italian, right?!
the problem is your shifting keys. You can obviously carry the melody, but you drop too low on the "scia" of "lasciate". Try listening to the song with headphones or on youtube while listening to your own video and you'll see what I mean. Next time you want to make a video, listen to the song on headphones while you sing. But good pronunciation, good sound and resonance, good support. /you should definitely take lessons.
Your voice has great potential. However, I believe you could have done better with accompaniment, because you kept going off key and into different octaves. You could work on dynamics as well. Otherwise, you shaped your vowels beautifully, and could do wonders.
I'm a vocal major at Laguardia, and I have sung this song before. Great job.
o.O uhhhhh it wasn't bad but... the tunes like sorta out... itz gonna b betta if u toook voice lessons!! and take some pronounciation lessongs too [if dere r] ;] buh ova all it was ok ;)
if you want the music, it's available from "24 Italian songs and Arias." Good luck finding it though, i don't remember where I found mine. It's a great song! It's a lot easier to keep the pitch with accompaniment. keep practicing!
I am taking singing lessons and your vibrato is much better than mine, keep practicing on staying in tune. I am also using "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Singing" that I got from the library, it is very similar to my voice training and it has really helped me a lot. So, if you don't have cash for lessons, go to the library and get this book, it will really help you. Bravo on posting the video and don't let the negative people discourage you.
i am sing teacher (sorry my english isn very well)...and if you want i can give you some personal advices, when i started to sing liric songs my problem was the same...the placement of the voice, so you can feel that your voice hasnt force... write me an email. bye
If you did not have the song playing in the background so you could hear the music, I strongly suggest doing so, because you "changed keys" on almost every other note.
And make sure you get the IP for the song--you're pronouncing a few words wrongly (i.e. "morir" Both "r"s should be flipped, neither rolled or pronounced flatly the way Americans do). Work hard on these 2 things and this song should sound great! (And once you perfect those 2, move on to interpretation and emotion)
Thank you SO much for your advice. I always did have trouble with those damn R's lol. And I've been thinking about getting a hold of the music somehow and singing along with it. It is very hard to do things acapella by solo.
it wasn't the worst I've ever heard, but it wasn't to spectacular either. You have potential, so I think you should take some voice lessons if you want to continue music.
STOP TALKING IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES! I AM American! Doesn't mean when I sing in a different language I SPEAK it! X.X Please stick to English to say that I suck! >.<

My advice, find a teacher (you could do really well) and don't post on Youtube anymore. All you'll get is mean comments.

I think you sing great, but you changed intonation on purpose, so that you would see what will people say to you.
I believe that because you started and ended in the same key; the last not is exactly 5 notes lower than the first one, as it should be ;)
