  • because the 64DD was a flop in japan they should release a system add on that will only fail, then in some odd months lets release the Gamecube. Great marketing idea.

  • @IOmegadUrMom

Just because it was a commercial failure didn't mean it was bad. It still had some great games(and some is an understatement because the system only had 9 games).

  • @Cheetah1251 After the Virtual Boy I don't think Nintendo was going to release it elsewhere. I never said it was bad or anything.

  • NOA is such a dick. "Let's prevent the 64DD from reaching America! Let's cancel Mother 3! Let's remove good music from Nintendo Puzzle Collection! Fans don't deserve anything blah blah blah" It's like getting stabbed in the balls with a hundred fucking daggers covered in acid.

  • @Cheetah1251 yay mother 3 :D

    nintendo of america SUCKS!!!

  • Pokemon Puzzle League was originally going to be called Pokemon Tetris Attack.

  • As soon as I got the soundtrack and heard this, I was wondering how the bleep you unlock it.

Unfortunately, this song doesn't really match the theme. :(

  • This is also on the GBA version that came with Dr Mario.

  • I love Panel De Pon on the SNES, but the US version (Tetris Attack) uses Yoshi and Toshi's Island characters?....whats wrong with using the origonal fairies from the Japanese version?...was it because anime wasn't that popular here back then?...was it because most of them wore short skirts?....i wonder why....

  • Yoshi and what not were used for two reasons. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island was released around the same time as Tetris Attack, and because the US finds icons more appealing than new characters, and Yoshi at the time was (and still is) one of the most popular Mario characters so really slapping Yoshi on the cover of the game helped it sell better in America.

  • I love this song for reasons from the past .

I wanted to hear it but America loves torturing gamers

  • Hmm...Where do you hear Lip's Theme in Panel de Pon DS?

  • It's a unlockable background setting/theme to select. But only in the Japanese version unless you use Gameshark. Nintendo of America has locked the theme out because they don't want us to have nice things :(

  • How do you unlock it? I own Panel de Pon DS.

  • Um, not sure exactly, but I think it is some or all of the folllowing: beat VS COM Lv 10 on Hard. Get 10000 points in Score Attack. Beat all puzzles.

  • @Skaz9000 I'll bet Reggie did that :(

  • @Skaz9000

    Bastards!

  • as great as the track is, I don't think it would fit in with these hardcore techno rave soundtracks.

  • But on the flip side, if you're a fan of this puzzle game series and have been playing it since Tetris Attack (or Panel de Pon), or maybe even Pokemon Puzzle League, you might argue that this is the only song that fits, being a traditional happy light-hearted song as was used in the other games. "Not fitting" shouldn't be a problem if it is simply a selectable theme rather than say, a default. But we don't even get a choice ;_;

  • i used to have pokemon puzzle leauge... my mom played that and soon became obsessed with it... heheh...

  • wow, i've never heard this one before!

  • here's how stupid NOA is, they had this out for the GBA a couple years ago and this had the song when Panel de Pon (or Puzzle League) came out to the states.

  • Nintendo of America stupidity was also shown back when they cancelled Nintendo Puzzle Collection's release and then two years later they released two out of three of its downloadable games on the GBA, instead of releasing the entire the Gamecube game. Nintendo of America purposely lost money.

  • As unlikely as it will ever be, I wish that Nintendo Puzzle Collection will be one of those "remade for Wii" games (like Pikmin), and then finally be released here ...

  • Me Too! It is likely but it all depends on Nintendo of America. Instead of having Gamecube games that just about everyone with a gamecube owns Nintendo should release Gamecube games that had there release cancelled like Nintendo Puzzle Collection, GiFTPiA, and Kuru Kurin Squash, in order to reintroduce these series. In fact, Nintendo could easily revive the Panel de Pon series on the Wii (Captain Rainbow could help), but it all depends on them.

  • Fuck you Nintendo for leaving this song out! *snarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl*

  • Not Nintendo, Nintendo of America.

  • America is dirty-minded nowadays. "Oh noes, it's a Nazi reference. Even if it's anti-Nazism, it's still bad."

Every time I see a game that Nintendo of America leaves in Japan, it makes me hear the annoying Internet memes and Sephiroth laughing.

  • Wait a fucking minute, are you saying that this theme isn't in the American version of this game? >:(

  • Unfortunately it isn't, and unfortunately NoA does things like this.

  • I'll tell you why: because NOA has a fucking "kick me" sign hanging from its ass.

I almost boycotted this horror of a localization, but thank God for Action Replay DS. Got it only for this stage.

  • Probably because they didn't want anything to do with the original Japanese thing. :/

  • But this isn't the whole flowery story that would scare potential buyers away, it was just a single unlockable background display and music (music which has already made it into other localized games such as Tetris Attack). You don't even have use it, it is just "selectable". What possible benefit could come from removing it??? Sigh, NoA ...

  • There is absolutely no benefit, in fact it makes the game worse. NoA continues to disappoint me.

  • I know. NoA should drink their own urine for doing such a dumb thing.

  • Nintendo of America has a thing for pissing off their fans. I wonder what next they will do?

  • Of course they have something for pissing us off. They just take a piss, and that's it! *snarrrrrrrl*

  • Yeah, idiots, the load of them.. Especially that Cammmie girl. :/

  • I wonder why it was locked out. Lip's Stage was just one stage out of the entire game. I miss the original Panel de Pon design rather than the soulless, character deprived, storyless, Panel de Pon Ds/ Planet Puzzle League design. I hope the original Panel de Pon gets a true sequel. Lip was in Captain Rainbow, maybe this means we will see a Panel de Pon on the Wii? Don't You hope so?
