the song is playing on my stereo in the background which worked fine when I was using the built in mic on my webcam which for some reason could pick up more stuff in the background then even my new 30 dollar mic I bought yesterday. As for software I didn't know there was software to record your vocals with

@childofthe80s1981 are u running the mic directly into ur computer, im just wondering so i can describe the best way for you to go about recording urself
@MyHomieDavid I just posted a redone video with my new mic now I've got lots of static but if I turn on noise suppression it blocks out the background music too so I can't do anything about the static
@childofthe80s1981 im not sure why that is, it might be the mic but what ive seen people get good results out of in the past are using the usb microphones made for games like guitar hero or rock band. and to make ur songs sound better i would recommend downloading the free audio editing software audacity and from there just open the song you want to sing over in that program. if you need further explanation on any of the steps let me know
@MyHomieDavid I downloaded Audacity this morning and except for figuring out how to play back the song I want to sing over I'm totally lost. What exactly do I do after I pull up the song in there
