  • I love old movie cameras! Way better than the new digital movie cameras.

  • sync sound was recorded separetely via deneke digital slate. be warned, the beaulieu is LOUD!!

bothe Fuji and Kodak here in Hollywood offer CHEAP 16mm film that's expired.... but still effin good.

  • Yup chumpjoe adrifromhh... HD is getting good and cheap option to Super 16 but we needed 2k and 4k scan and telecine. you can see the trailer of movie via my imdb.com account.

no we did not use any filters besides NDs for the test. all filtration was done in post. we chose the beaulieu as they were cheap on ebay. none of the cameras survived after filming. all destroyed during crash scene.

yes, i like cheap german chocolate also.

anyone here recommend film festival in your area?

  • yup, the compressed vid looks cr*p.

  • hapuseh, i shot it, someone else did the post. I did see my untouched footage on a giant screen it looked perfect

  • This is lovely. How do you come across these expensive cameras? And how would you record sound?

  • @ChumpJoe

I think theyre not much more expensive than a modern HD camera... max 1000€ i think...

  • wonderful quality

  • directly from kodak. they give discounts to students

  • Where do you get your standard 16mm film?

  • film? no one makes film anymore. impossible to find.

    hahahaha.

    seriously though, call kodak.

  • I don't know what the hell you did but that's the ugliest 16mm has ever looked in my oppinion. Sure the quality was great but you spoiled the look of celluoid film by adding the glow and the saturation. Looked like a cheap German chocolate commercial.

  • i LIKE cheap German chocolate!

  • I shot on 16mm once and could barely afford it... I wish I could - it was definitely the most fun I've ever had and the results were magical.

  • Wicked quality, warm and intimate, I've not yet used my Beaulieu R-16 but am looking forward to using now...

  • did you use a soft filter in any of this?

  • thank you for this

  • That looks absolutely fabulous! Until we see the day when consumer technology evolves to a point where the quality of images perceived through digital sensor plates catches up with the organic richness of the celluloid film, little guys like me will probably have to settle for being petty observers of other guys who can actually afford the expensive old-school approach.

  • Oh it is sooo good QUality with 16mm Film

  • i want some of 16 mm please
