I remember playing the first Jade Cocoon because of my distant cousin showed it to me when I went over his house to play. Honestly I would of never knew about the Jade Cocoon series if it wasn't for him, and after several minutes I fall in love with it!
I played Pokemon back and it reminded me with the RPG elements and monster capture that I liked. Sadly I never could find the 1st one in stores but I find the 2nd one when it was released, but even though it was different I loved it as well.
I have a bit of a soft spot for JC2 as well- I absolutely adored the design aesthetic and thought that the combat system was interesting. Granted, the creatures don't change in appearance when you merge them together (unlike the first game) but then again, you don't end up with ugly-looking hybrids either (like the first game).
It maybe different, but that is what i like about it. They try the game out in another direction.And to be honest, it worked out pretty well- IN MY OPINION.

Nico's dialogue is often one of the occasions I look forward to, and it's a shame that most of the voice actors who were a part of this aren't more widely known, especially since so many gave a consistently BELIEVABLE performance.

And I think they saw how some of the game's characters and colors could be turned into a baby's game. And so they did... fk ur oppinion there is such as a thing as an oppinion of a complete morron. the characters move alot easier than the prequel, the maps you explore are HUGE in comparison to the 4 old forests. THERE IS A HIGHER DEGREE OF CUSTOMISABILITY INSTEAD OF THAT OLD POKEMON WANNABE SYSTEM THE OLD ONE HAD...you get to meet a huge range of characters with very well done designs AND they actually have personality instead of every single damn person beinf a mere plot device. there are 4th wall gags too
