  • Just like Hick, Gatt's test career was pretty average, but 94 first class hundreds at an average of 49.52 is excellent..

  • I remember someone had a banner after this innings that read something along the lines of "Mary MacKillop's second miracle: Mike Gatting's century"

  • He snaffled up those cuts like a big bear bagging a salmon. Still holds the record for the most fish suppers ever eaten at Brett's in Headingley, ofcourse. Or was it Bryan's. Whatever. He was one of the best fat blokes ever to come from England. And there have been a few....

  • Gatting gets a century on one of the nicest batting wickets in the world against the world class bowling of Mark Waugh

  • With no offence intended, Gatting & Gooch were two fat, old bastards on that 1994/95 touring side lol. Both were well & truly past their best.. it's even more comical that they were even in the ODI side!!!

  • I have happy memories of Mike Gatting in test cricket - he didn't have a great record and his fitness level was appalling but things were never dull when he was involved.

  • but heart with a lion. yo need all types to make a team. keep counting the beans eco.

  • a very average player.

  • A great innings from Gatt, a shame he didn't score more runs on this tour though, I think his series average was only about 22.
