if theyre ionic (meaning they dont share electrons such as covalent bonds), how do a mole of a ionic substance structure? since there is no real force but the charges itself, do they just stack up one molecule on top of another? if so that would mean that boiling and melting poins would be higher than covalent molecules

I get it now! When you lose a negative electron, it breaks the balance causing the atom to become +. and when the gain a negative electron it breaks the balance to become -!

Covalent bonding is between two NON metals.

Say when you have... Hydrogen and Oxygen, they're both non-metals and share electrons and become H20 (water)
