  • I had a similar issue. My assessment was overcharging by a faulty alternator/regular. In the video, the overcharging state causes the sensor malfunctions, then as more load is put on (the headlight) the voltage drops back to a normal level and the problem start to go away. At one point i measured 18v at the alternator.

  • hi i have similar dash problems on my 325ci auto 02. lights indicators al work.but dash don't show main beam on also fog lights and when i indicate .but with engine off the indicators light up turn the signal off and the light carrys on blinking ???? id also appreaciate some help

  • Hey u look at the fuse??

  • The yellow oil light that comes on and then off - you just have bad oil level sensor, it's located on the very bottom of oil pan.

  • Does it lose power when you are driving and also is it an auto?If so,then when there is a fault,it would come on in the little square when you select drive, nectral and so on.If so,then the alternator is at fault because i had the same problem myself.Change the alternator and everything is fine..

  • The battery light staying on probably has something to do with it.

Id replace the battery and alternator, then see what youve got.

  • Have you fixed the issue? I would check the alternator voltage first (too bad you can't use the secret menu for that, since your BC is not working).

Btw: Just loving that sound of a BMW 6 cylinder firing up...

  • I’m happy with my 328i, but the only performance mods are sport suspection and the Signature Motoring performance intake for about $150. Signature Motoring kit adds around 11HP on the dyno, great sound, and the best performance upgrade for the money. See my channel videos!

    -Adds 9-11 HP

-Never replace filter again (uses K&N filter)

    -GREAT SOUND

-Installs in maybe 30-45 min. K&N filter lasts a lifetime.

I'm thinking maybe performance exhaust, but eh.

  • Little small things? A battery charging Light wich keeps burning (somewhere fare fare away) is the indication that your alternator is not producing DC power. It is producing AC power for the battery.

It will get worse and rips the ECU unit.

Those little small things do not respond anymore because off a bad ground point. No DC but AC.

Your wheatstone bridge in the alternator is gone.

  • Yeltzhan123 my bmws are fine no problems had more than 7 over the years and my e46 has 140000 miles on it and e90 more than 30000

  • the yellow oil light indicator just tells you that your Oil Level Sensor has failed its a common problem, i have it myself the car is fine to drive like that it just means elctronically the car cannot read your oil level, just remember to cheack the level of oil your self. when its next having its oil changed ask to have the sensor replaced as the oil has to be drained.

  • @muffinator2002 why don't you read the owners manual instead of saying wrong things... The yellow oil light stands for low oil LEVEL and can light up even after you have turned off the car. Otherwise if it becomes red stands for low oil PRESSURE.

  • @mpr330cd Yes you are correct, according to the owners manual it states "If light comes on during journey: stop immediately and switch off the engine. The engine oil is at its absolute minimum permitted level. Further details: page 137.

  • @mpr330cd But during the video 1:47 - 1:56 the guy clearly states that "there is plenty of oil actually in the car, theres no problems in regard to it."

So having experienced that very same issue myself (which has now been fixed by replacing the sensor)

i felt oblidged to lend he guy and give my honest advice which whether you like it or not is actually correct.

  • @muffinator2002 Yes, you are right . I did not heard about 1:47 - 1:56. Sorry... i was just reading comments and seemed to me that you were saying that the only possible cause of the yellow oil light was sensor failure. Now is clear... hope for everybody

however this car had more than just that problem. All the electronic gizmos failures may be reconducted to an alternator/tension regulator failure.... The Ecu just turn off things like fog lights, A/C, even the radio in case of a power loss.
