  • Ken,

Excellent video footage mate! You know, on the twisty bits, with a bit of mist and rain thrown in, you could almost be in Nepal heading for Simla Hill-station on the Darjeeling Line, its just so evocative of the hill railways especially in the forrest loops.

Hoping.... praying.... to make it to the Super Power W/end Sept 10 & 11. Heading there on 16th to find best photo shoot locations. Im handicapped with only x12 zoom so cant emulate those panorama shots.

    Thanks for posting

  • I only have x12 as well, however it depends what the 12 times is, I think mine is around 43mm, resulting in a range 42.9-514.8 mm. However I also have wide angle lens gives me around 28-300mm. Note: If you are thinking on getting a wide angle be carefull to get one that works across the full range, the cheep ones don't.

  • brilliant video!!!

  • Beautiful video, one of the best I've seen of the WHR and filmed in such wonderful conditions

  • Locations: Rhos Tryfan Road, near Plas Bodaden, footpath across field; Salem (with river); from forrestry above Cwellyn, not seen that before; Castell Cidwm, Snowdon Ranger, Snowdon Ranger towards Rhyd Ddu (maybe from forestry?), Glan yr afon (ditto), approach to Rhyd Ddu, from road.

Good, I enjoyed it, sets it in the landscape.

  • Best video you have ever done by far.

  • Bringing back this line is an all round totally awesome achievement! Is there anything volunteers can't do after this?

  • @JimTLonW6

Maintain it, run it, finish it off.

  • As always - superb video.

    Some questions for you:

    - What are the locations in the video?

    - Did you visit the GWSR for their gala?

  • Easy one first, Missed GWSR, had planned to go but I wonted to catch the K1 on NYMR before it left to go north again. I remember all the locations but not by name, would have to look them up.

  • Great vid! 5*. Smashing day for you.

  • Wonderful. No big ad. either, thoroughly enjoyed it. Some nice long pans, and did you have to climb for some shots? They seemed quite high for a car.

    Alan

  • The high shot I found a footpath that climbed a mountain behind a tree line to give me the shot, long climb in very hot weather but worth it.

  • To pennysteam

Definitely worth it - I enjoyed that the most!

  • What a beautiful day for your trip.Great trains and magnificent scenery. 5*. Very enjoyable video.

  • Smashing Vid. When Part 2 Out?
