  • People tried to be self sufficient in 1942 after the depression during WW2 by growing their own wheat and the govt basically stopped them with the case Wickard v. Filburn. As long as the system allows the govt that extent of control on the "free" market then we will have issues. The commerce clause in the constitution surely wasn't supposed to void civil rights. I think it violates the 4th amendment and in the case of Gonzales v. Raich (relied on other case), it also violated the 10th amendment

  • I believe this inspired corruption. This and the mismanagement of tax money combined with the money we are losing to mexico directly due to drug sales or the taxing of the drug war. I think enough of the pool of wealth of our country has filtered away from the common citizen till we can't afford to maintain our quality of life so we are not spending and thus forcing an economic collapse. This is all personal research so don't quote me but I think the 1942 case was pressured by the war and fear

    Hemp provided many products of use and was once grown heavily in the US.
