Hey guys was wondering if anyone could help me with a question, I've been studying bjj for about 2 and abit years now and in the last couple months have been fixated on the magical world of 10th planet jj. i am currently thinkin of embarking on my own quest for that belt of black but have never rolled with a gi, my question being kind people: In the 10th planet system are gi's required at all when earning belts? thanks in advance again guys much appreciated, PEACE!

@huntman125 yeah theirs mcdojo's out their. and honestly their isn't a time in years. it's all about mat time. bj penn got his bb in 3 years, but bj penn put in over 50 hours a week on the mat. 8 hours a day, 6-7 days a week. the average person gets 20 hours a month! bj penn put in over 20 years worth of mat time for the average person. for the average person/20 hours a month, they say it takes about a decade in bjj, only 2 10th planet guys so not really an average to go bye yet.

yeah i find it strange how eddie bravo gives out bjj black belts when he is the one saying in the firstp lace that he does not teach Gi bjj and strictly does no gi bjj(submission grappling) so its kinda odd that he would be giving them out
