  • crap video due to crap music

  • All it was is when Europe was trading salt because they discovered it not too long after the virus and than a rat came on board and than it headed back too Eroup with the virus on it thab when the rat scratched itself fleas would hop on people and than would keep sucking their blood but eventaly some of the fleas came addickted to it so they just kept sucking up blood and than the puke would get into the bite hole/mark and travel trough your bloodstream and would dry and than ...R.I.P.

  • It is spelled ''Plauge'' you dumbasses.

    (:

  • Good video, thank you for posting

  • This was a beautifull curse by our beloved master satan...

  • It was easily caught in london, becus it was really scruffy back then, and they used to poo out the windows, queen elizaabeth was the first person to use a toilet o_o. The great fire of London worn away the Plague, also they still have some dead bodies in a dip in Eden, They wont dig em up incase the plague spreads again, But , Some countries stilll have the plague, so watch out o_O!

  • by the way, last comment b4 this was replying 2 some 1, and lmao u know they blamed all of this on the gews?! xD poor gews

  • i love the song =P

  • 1:07 honey comb XD

  • @lasse88 nowerdays less peaople would die, cause it is easily healable by antibioticas. sadly huh?!?!

  • Bare in mind, that they black plague was most deadly in crowded, unclean cities. 80 millions where ALLOT at midevil times. Its like if 1000 millions would die today.

  • nc song!

  • I thought people could transmit it, as others contracted most deadly disease through coughing because it eventually became transmittable from person to person, the way swine flu is now because the virus evolved. Perhaps some human contact :) Thanks for the info though! Things like this are only "skimmed" upon by high school teachings..you don't actually get into depth about it which sucks because there's so much more to learn about it. Maybe I'm thinking of other diseases xD

  • The bacteria that causes the plague can be transmitted but contact or clothing, but this actually was quite a rare event in comparison to infection via the traditional method of rodent bite.

  • I mean rodent FLEA bite

  • high school? we went over this in the 7th grade, i know alot about it, like, they used the dead as weapons during war, they catapulted the dead in rival camps, and the bodies splatered on impact infecting the rival camp

  • Well perhaps not the disease, but at one point to attack or whichever it happened there was a city closed off from it from the walls, and I remember seeing a part on youtube where people flung the bodies over the wall. May not have been contracted that way, but either way it somehow spread there :) But thanks for the clips anyways! Didn't know it was under debate actually :) I didn't learn too much of it, but yeah I think I recently heard of a new classification for it.

  • In medievil warface, this technique was used to send fear through the ranks of the defenders, being used to infect other people ..i don't think so. I think in the movie "The kingdom of heaven" has a scene simular to what you are mentioning

  • Anyone know what clips these are from? Also, it was used as a weapon for a time, I believe during a warring period..can't remember which one..also to which dead bodies where flung over the wall..I should mentioned dead infected bodies..then no one was safe but now the bubonic plague is indeed very curable, if caught early and not in its advanced stages.

  • Sorry mate, I can't remember the name of the doco. As for using the body as a chemical weapon.. i think that is unlikely, the plague decimated armies and I do not believe anyone was seriously at war at this time. Additionally an infected person is not contagious (as far as I am away) Also please keep in mind, the plague of 1347 is still under debate whether it was bubonic or other.

  • What are these clips from? Anyone know?

  • tellme thats that thing on 1:34 cuz its kinda cool to me

  • A pustul. A big boil that forms under the skin. IN this case it was in the arm pit

  • thnx ill gotta tell this vid to my pals and ill sub u for a great vid XD

  • That is H1N1 today.

  • except H1N1 is less mild than the normal flu which is 100000 times less dangerous than the black plague.

  • pfft, I got Swine flu :P

  • i had swine 2, it sucked

  • @STFUismyname tell me about it, i couldn't go to the city track & field qualifing races because of it

  • that sucks, and some one thinks me having swine is a poor comment xD wow!

  • Lol did anyone know if ireland got the plague?

  • Sorry for the delay - Yes Ireland suffered badly, no amount of whiskey was gonna fix this. The plague hit in for in 1348.

  • intesresting music.......

  • ramstein german music

  • omg the kkk wtf?

  • That wasn't the KKK; at the time of the Black Death, groups of penitents wandered the roads, scourging themselves to try to help deflect what they saw as God's anger. And it's not unusual for penitents to be hooded.

Very ... eerie video, especially with that background music!

  • wats the song at the beginning??

  • It's "Du Hast" by Rammstein.

    Du hast = You hate

  • Or You love. You hate are Du Hasst with double "s". look the oficcial lyrics. It´s a word game

  • crappy quarantine back then...

  • :O thats terrible poor peeps :(

  • Obvious below i meant

"The total number of deaths worldwide is estimated at 75 million people, approximately 25-50 million of which occurred in Europe."

  • its so sad... and DISCUSTING.......bleh

  • no wonder the french made catacombs for these bodies and i heard that they put bricks in people's mouth cause they were vampires when they die to keep them from eating their neighbor body to get strong

  • HI there, actually you are right to a degree. Undead/Zombies/vampire mythology gets a bit of itself from plague days where people who weren;t quite dead would be put into coffin. Some of them actually got better enough to open the lid of the coffin ..hence vampire coffin mythology was born..or at least helped

  • huh thats ****ing creepy

  • Hi all,

This video seems to get a lot of people using it for class assignments (which is great) I'd just like to update some figures which differ from the video. The facts i used where accurate at the time. Here are the updates:

The total number of deaths worldwide is estimated at 75 million people,[10] approximately 2550 million of which occurred in Europe.

Some scientists, Historians and some researchers believe that the illness was, in fact, a haemorrhagic fever

  • its my favorite disease besides schizophrenia

  • I concur.

  • Comment removed

  • O.o oh well...uhh

  • 25 milion people only in Europe

  • Comment removed

  • it was 25milion people not 85 -.-

  • ohhhh really?..Site please

  • I've always wondered why the black death caused such a pscyhic pain to medieval Europeans. It killed Muslims and others in the same horrible way, but it didn't really destroy an entire worldview there the way it destroyed the worldview of the Middle Ages. It's sad...I'm a medievalist, and it's almost as if medieval Christians felt so protected by God, Mary and all the saints that something as horrendous as this simply destroyed that faith...and we have the Renaissance, a much darker period.

  • Informational, but kind of creepy really...

  • yes it is true some doctors have made treatements NOW. black death was torchure the symptoms are coughing up blood glands swelling up as the size as a fist and pussing it was horrible.

  • this is just what i need for history home work how do you download it ? xx

  • wtf is this crap random pics of a documnetry with the music du hast wtf wtf lolz weridest vid ive seen in a while

  • it is scarey to think that this could happen again

and wed be helpless because we woulndt know the cure

  • There is not cure to black plague but there are treatments. But you're right went an apparant hybrid disease occurs and which such speed it would be utterly terrifying. Thank you, this was the exact message I was trying to get accross in my film

  • Actually, we wouldn't be totally helpless. One of the main reasons the Great Mortality was so deadly was because people didn't know how it was transmitted nor did they have the sanitation infrastructure in place that we do now. Yes, it's still a very dangerous illness (well, there are two forms we're dealing with actually but that's another matter) so while we aren't better protected once infected, we're infinitely more able to limit the spread of this illness.

  • Oh yes, no doubt we are in a better position but (and this is my humble opinion) the Black death was not "normal" bubonic, it was a hybrid - something never seen before or since. It seemed to mutate over the decades it ravaged europe.

  • bubonic plague is for the most part contained, like smallpox

  • It's not contained at all. As couragenow pointed out , this thing mutates very quickly (relatively speaking) and there's no cure. The only reason we can contain it at all is because we have a system set up to deal with an outbreak. If that quick-response system were absent, the plague would be back with a vengeance.

  • "with a vengeance"? hihi

  • Only place on earth small pox exists is in few American and Russian Labs. The Plague is still out there, it still kills people mate :)

  • some people made treatments

  • they should freaking make a movie! home dawg right?

  • hey please tell me how the plague started?

  • SOrry for the delay .. MY vid is not about "the plague" It is purely about 1 large outbreak of the plague referred to as "the black death" At the start of the video I speak about the first cases of black death

  • it depends which one your talking about. but the one i learned about is that it was caused by flees that were infested by rats which were let loose off a ship comming fron some country to italy and eventually the rats would bite ppl or nibble on their food or brush their clothes which would let the flees jump out and when the flees got onto you, you basicaly got the plague, then you got a headache, a fever, then the rest of the symtoms and died.

  • rats fleas wen they bit u

  • it was started by the simple lil bite of a infected flea, the fact that they didnt know bout germs didnt help either, they threw raw sewage and garbage out there windows into open sewers in the middle of the street. animals roamed the streets eating garbage

  • Amazing to use Rammstein's song for this. Fantastic photos and art... wow! I'm majorly impressed.

  • Thanks mate,

You'll prolly like some of my other ones - check out ICE that has ramstein (engal)

  • ok then the thing at 1:30 is sickening

  • Can you imagine having it all over your body? Gahhh!!!!

  • what is the song at the begining

  • begining

  • the song at the beginig

  • what the crap is that thing at 1:30????

  • It was a pustul (giant puss filled sore) ..t he doctors lanced it. It was a sign of the plague

  • It's a lump that people had from the Plague.

  • I don't know... at 1:13 and so on it looked like the KKK. :\

  • not kkk mate, but simular mentallity

  • I know, thats why I said it "looked like" instead of "it is."

  • euuw! yuck 1:30 is the most disgusting bit!

  • I did remove a lot of gore actually :)

  • Thank you 4 replaing, poor ppl T.T.

Do you know that it kill alot of ppl in kuwait in 1837?

  • .. negative? I did a google and couldn;t drag up much info. What do you have?

  • Part 1: In June 1831 plague invaded Kuwait from Iraq as they said It killed 60% of the population in Kuwait which means more than 3 quarters of the Kuwaiti people and the survivors were only 4000 in that year one of the stories said that one family started to save food in the first days of this crises and locked the door not letting any to come or leave the house but their daughter in law was worry about her family in the next door so she went

  • Part 2: to check on her family and went out when she came back her husban's family didn't let her to get in coz she became sick and she died after few days.

    i translate this 4 u, sorry i'm late.

  • Thank you! you have no idea who long i search 2 find a real "plague" video! I dom't know why ppl love to laugh about this serious subject. I'm sorry my English is bad but i wanted 2 say somethin' & thank u.

  • Hey you're more then welcome mate. Yeah its really scary stuff. the black plague was a hybrid of 2 different plagues at the time. Wipes us out!!

  • Do you know why they call it " black death " ?

  • because victims got black slotches on their bodies

  • I'm really interested in this period in history and in medical diseases. You made a slight error in regards as to the types of plagues. There were actually three - bubonic (most common), pneumonic, and the septicaemic plague.

  • Hi there Emily,

I do not recall saying which plague the black death was as from as far as I can tell no one knows eactly what kind of plague it was. I have read about septicaemic plague but it doesn't fit into the Black Death story - I believe about %20 of the people who caught the black death died, whilst septicaemic has a %5 chance of surviving. Really, this Vid was only about the period we refer to as the black death. - Thanks

  • im facinated with this disease but it's also freaky...

  • lol think about it, if the plague hadnt happened all those years ago the world would be way overpopulated now!
