Gearbox learned that people were doing the New Haven run so much and getting rare weapons relatively easily so in one of the patches they made all of the chests in New Haven white so they would spawn poorer quality weapons. There is a secret developer's chest below a tower in the very northwest corner of the Rust Commons West that spawns rare weapons more regularly then other chests.

It's still there in playthrough 2 and the weapon quality gets much better the higher you go. I'm actually getting kind of annoyed at how many Eridian weapons I'm getting from it.

hey all my new haven chests are white and only carry like whites I have done the main quest up to the missing piece of the puzzle but they still have not changed to red chests someone please help me

"pearls" - He is saying that just because an item is white doesn't always make it bad. Sometimes a white item can have crazy stats and be quite good :)

talk to the new - U station in new haven let it save then try =) good luck

You should Exit, then it saves the game aswell.

Did you rescue the Claptrap in New Haven? He's right next to the bounty board.

That might be it. I did the chest run like 30 times, and under one of them i repaired that blue claptrap.. Suddenly the chest appaird on the chest runs.. Might be the reason :)

Yup. I know one of the chests only starts appearing after you do the Claptrap quest, I just wasn't sure which one. Now I am =)

you have to talk to the fallen blue clap trap, find the repair kit, then he shows u that room

You really should check all the white weapons in crates just incase they're pearls
