Wow, I was thinking about potential energy (PE) in the regards to human behaviour even when I was in High School (I thought that this was obvious at the time and everyone knew that they had a choice in their lives to do all or do little...) Also, when I was studying Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs in Mental Health Nursing it was obvious how self-actualisation related to PE. I'm glad to know someone else thinks the same, but I actually thought others had made the link too...
Human beings have the potential to light the stars! But will we choose to use this potential for destruction or creation? Great incites and analogies, thanks for sharing and for the affirmation. We must remember how much potential we have to bring forth the world we desire. It looks like a world of darkness, perhaps like you say, somewhere hidden within us is a mushroom cloud of peace and love waiting to be unleashed!

Personally, I've gone through many deep thoughts, questions, and have grown from them. Some scare me, to be quite honest-- my own mortality, the universe, etc. But, no matter how much it does scare me, I try to use it to become a "better" person. I live to love. I'm inspired by people that have a passion for positivity, no matter what it is. Keep it up. Godspeed.

" be the change" Gandhi knew it.. see it...feel it....be it....and it will be.
Good positive message. I have lately been listening to some of William Henry's teachings based on this change also. He shows that knowledge and enlightenment has happened before. He points this out by explaining some of the ancient writings and art representations. Also I am glad that this wasn't a man-made global warming discussion. Not to say I don't believe climate change is happening... it has always happened on this planet and all the others in this solar system.
@freethinkerfreelover cool! have you read it yet? for me, this book follows so many others (On Being Human--by Erich Fromm; The Kyballion; Stumbling on Happiness--Daniel Gilbert; Prometheus Rising--Robert Anton Wilson; several by Jungian writers; etc., etc.). One at a time they show up for me and slowly arrange themselves like pieces of a fascinating mandala-puzzle :-)

Well, you certainly have an interesting point of view, but your assertion of our potential energy on the basis of some amorphous shared feeling of change or transition within humanity is something less than persuasive. I would suggest that we have moved beyond the tipping point and the common feeling we have is a sense of hurtling toward an unknown end at and ever increasing speed. I do find your supposition interesting, but I don't think it reflects the reality before us.

"Waves" is a great example to use. Humanity has "crested" spiritual heights before, but (as you mention) not in this broad of a sense. For example, we have early cultures, such as the Mayans, who reached spirituals heights and also individuals through history. The difference now is that the scope is much broader. I believe we are at a crucial point in human history/existence. We have the opportunity to accept the call or not. To walk away may have dire consequences. In other words-I agree. :)
