You gotta' laugh or you'll cry. The airline is dependent on thoughtless customers. If they did not fly the airline would be bankrupt. The Flight Attendants do a phenomenal job. When the plane goes down, that's when they are worth more then they are paid. Thank you for saving my ass.

Wow! what an awesome video, I am a flight attendant for a major middleastern airline, and on some of the flights we do the glamour is worse than the one you have shown, but you know what: the people like you are the ones who inspire me.. wow.. 43 years opposed to my 7 years... well big difference!

You F/A's do an awesome job and I for one really appreciate what you do! What really amazes (read 'disgusts') me, is those that fly Business Class are the messiest passengers EVER! I've flown BC once and it was a great flight, but I couldn't believe how many ignorant passengers would just throw their newspapers on the floor, along with napkins, plastic cups, etc. 13+ hours on a flight and you guys are right there for us! Thanks!

my mama is a flight attendant for delta and shes always telling me about the people she meets and what happens to her (and some of her friends-some of the stories are definatly not glamours, like getting out of vietnam after the war)

OMG...How funny. I posted this video, I took this video in the last year of my 43 year career as a F/A.

#1. I worked for Delta..Cabin Service cleans the airplane. The F/A's are busting their ass to cover 3 concourses in 20 minutes to get to their next airplane, which the agents board behind you as you are hauling ass down the jetway.

#2. I flew in the golden years of flying, the 60's. Things were a lot different.

Why do people always read trashy magazines on airplanes? I loved when I found an expensive Vanity Fair or Vogue on board. Once we found the Cindy Crawford Playboy...that was unique.

Those are NOT flight attendants picking up trash. Those are cabin service cleaners. The flight attendants are doing nothing but filming and making fun of their job. Typical. Being a flight attendant now days is not glamour, it's a lousy job in my opinion.

In Asian countries, being a flight attendant is still considered a glamorous job. Take for ex, Singapore Airlines. Girls grow up in hopes of becoming a SQ girl. Over here in the states, a FA job is no longer glamorous because of unions etc. Theres no pride in it like asian base airlines.

It has changed a lot!! This job its not glamorous anymore. And I agree with planeguy, people still think this job is glamorous when is not. It used to be back in the days, but not more... I wish those days come back. I am a flight attendant and I have to pick up garbage from nasty passengers, who leave them in the seat pocket or throw away garbage in every swaps =P....

I'm also a flight attendant and i have never had to pick up trash from the bin before, but if you do and you look good doing it then thats the glamour and if you dont think is time to think about getting that early tirement plan they are offering

Imagine f/a collecting rubbish and serving your food...They are not flight attendants planeguy, they are the aircraft interior cleaners. Flying from one continent to another and being accommodated at 5 star hotels worldwide, this is one of the most sought after jobs in the world!

Yeah, its more like start flying internationally after god knows how long and thats if you make it without being furloughed, and when you start flying internationally you're way, way to tired on layover to do anything but sleep at the crappy airport hotel.

I agree today is different, that's why I think I am so lucky to have flown then. The last few years sucked.......

5 star hotels? Flying from continent to continent? Try flying to the villes: Nash-, Knox-, Jackson-, Ash-, and then staying at a Ramada in Hapeville. And the cleaners are emptying the bin that the F/A filled w/detritus. If I had a $1 for every disgusting thing that I was handed by a pax,I could retire. F/As and every airport employee work as a team, and we all put up with some disgusting aspects all while treating the public with respect and grace. Too bad the public treats us w/contempt.

Its because of the reputation U.S F/A's have earned over the many decades. people who fly u.s base airlines feel like they get treated like cattle. And from my experience, the crew were always rude, snotty and were not hospitable at all. Thats just the American standard now a-days. Shitty ass planes, bad service, n getting charge for ever lil stupid thing has become a norm. A totally different flying experience when compared to like Singapore Air.

You cant compare Delta or any U.S airlines to a 5 star premium airline such as SIA. Its like comparing apples to oranges. There are many many many reasons why SIA is considered the creme de le creme. . As an American myself, i just see flying from OAK-JFK as another form of public transportation, basically a greyhound bus with wings.

the glamour of air travel in the U.S was demolish over the decades and the flying public dont appreciate it no more. The romance of travel and an aura where flying was an experience, care free, relaxing and just damn fun can be now only found on foreign base airlines such as SIA,CX,MH, and EK.
