One of my three favourite tribute songs, together with Eddie´s "Three Stars" and Waylon´s "The Stage". Rest in peace Buddy, Ritchie, J.P., Eddie, Waylon and Roger.
Today we think of him, Richie Valens and J.P Richardson. What a dreadful loss they all were but most especially Buddy Holly, without whom John Lennon once said, there would have been Beatles. God alone knows what he would have given us.
does anyone no who sings or wat the name of he song is it kinda sounds like the man singin in this song! the lyrics are like '' one day we''ll break up next day we make up...............how does it feel''' plez anser!!
@fatslugz Could it be Jeremih's "Break Up To Make Up" ?? It's a pretty tenuous connection, but the vocal sound is a little bit similar with a kind of compressed echo effect. Anyway, it's here on YouTube so maybe you might wanna go and check it out.
@sodacypher Greetings. I believe that "compressed sound" was the result of the British recording curve which was slightly different from the RIAA curve on most U.S. recordings. Back in the 1950s, some high end hi fi amplifiers came with a switch to adjust the audio curve for "US", "UK" or "European". This curve was to bring out the best of the standard playback equipment of the time (which was by today's standard, crappy.)
Buddy Holly died at the age of 22, 51 years ago, along with Richie Valens, The Big Bopper, and the young pilot of plane in the middle of snow storm! February 3, !959 is immortalized in the song American Pie as, "The Day The Music Died!," I like Mike Berry's
tribute song to Buddy Holly, it has the feel of Buddy's style all over it! Thanks for the Video!
goodby buddy wish i was older to hear all his songs i onli herd a few of thm and lil ritchie i get old people cum up to me and says that im tooo young to now lil ritchie buddy n the gang im like 17 lol there legends in my eyes always will be

Its upto people like us to restore good music in the West now - its been delibeately commercialised for financial exploitation - the focus on making good music has shifted. We can change this though.
Such a great time for songs. Glad Mike Berry (from last seasons of AYBS?) and his Outlaws took it upon themselves to do gigs & tributes to Buddy Holly. Active since the 60's. Good stuff.
he also played Mr Peters in Worzel Gummidge - the father of the two kids living in a caravan on the farm. Thats where I remember him from and his recording of "sunshine of your smile" released around the same time - about 1980.
'when i was Buddy Holly in the London Production is sang this song'
Why did you sing the song if you were playing Buddy Holly, not a rude comment, just intrigued - was it an out of character moment after the play or something?
The song is completely awesome btw. Buddy Holly one of the greatest artists ever despite only living to 22. Extraordinary.
Thanks Tomylonely, another idiot who can't make a comment without including the F word, you must be a real joy at your family reunions or are they all as ignorant as you?
The guitarist on TRIBUTE is Billy Kuy, later of the Innocents (formerly Bobby Angelo & The Tuxedos, who evolved into "The End"), who issued discs backing Mike Berry (HMV) and also as a self-contained group (Columbia, Regal Zonophone). One of the finest of his era IMO.
My mums got this single and Its credited to Mike Berry and The Outlaws. So the Guitarist could be Ritchie Blackmore, The bassist is Chas Hodges from Chas and Dave Fame
Buddy Holly was the best, is the best, and will ever be. There´ll never be any one like Buddy. No one will ever be like him. So good, such a talent, with this feeling in writing and singing. Don´t need to mention his guitar Playing.... Man, we´ll never forget. We´ll Rave On....
One Word: Beautiful! I always nearly cry, listen to this song, for me as a big Buddy Holly Fan. This song is even better than American Pie. A Great One! Sad but Pretty.
Is this a Joe Meek production? Sounds very much like it.
