  • Is this a Joe Meek production? Sounds very much like it.

  • R.I.P buddy holly you will always have a place in my heart

  • One of my three favourite tribute songs, together with Eddie´s "Three Stars" and Waylon´s "The Stage". Rest in peace Buddy, Ritchie, J.P., Eddie, Waylon and Roger.

  • Today we think of him, Richie Valens and J.P Richardson. What a dreadful loss they all were but most especially Buddy Holly, without whom John Lennon once said, there would have been Beatles. God alone knows what he would have given us.

  • Great song and a great tribute in the aniversary of "The day the music died"

  • saved as a favorite thanks

  • Ich habe lange gesucht aber jetzt habe ich den Song auf CD gefunden.Ich liebe ihn!

  • this sounds like something panda bear would sample

  • Awesome, I love Meek!!!

  • Einfach gut

  • What a great cover for such a great man. Rave on!!!

  • I think it's the most heartfelt tribute song sung about Buddy.

  • Great voice!

  • Der große Buddy wird immer sein.

  • Excellent, great song!

  • does anyone no who sings or wat the name of he song is it kinda sounds like the man singin in this song! the lyrics are like '' one day we''ll break up next day we make up...............how does it feel''' plez anser!!

  • @fatslugz Could it be Jeremih's "Break Up To Make Up" ?? It's a pretty tenuous connection, but the vocal sound is a little bit similar with a kind of compressed echo effect. Anyway, it's here on YouTube so maybe you might wanna go and check it out.

  • @sodacypher Greetings. I believe that "compressed sound" was the result of the British recording curve which was slightly different from the RIAA curve on most U.S. recordings. Back in the 1950s, some high end hi fi amplifiers came with a switch to adjust the audio curve for "US", "UK" or "European". This curve was to bring out the best of the standard playback equipment of the time (which was by today's standard, crappy.)

  • Dig this a lot. Unique exotic but on the mark. Finland .. Americans love you and will not invade your country ever.

  • a wonderful tribute to a fine geezer who i dont think will ever be forgotton ever and hell be up there now looking down.

  • A wonderful tribute to an amazing star, god bless your soul Buddy Holly.

    Thank's for the upload.

  • ich liebe buddy holly

  • if you think this is a tear-jerker then you should try eddie cochrane's 'THREE STARS'

    Gets me every time.

  • Ace!!!

  • Buddy Holly died at the age of 22, 51 years ago, along with Richie Valens, The Big Bopper, and the young pilot of plane in the middle of snow storm! February 3, !959 is immortalized in the song American Pie as, "The Day The Music Died!," I like Mike Berry's

tribute song to Buddy Holly, it has the feel of Buddy's style all over it! Thanks for the Video!

  • All of the great Singers in our World all gone...

    R.I.P.

    Elvis

    Ricky Nelson

    Buddy

    Gene Pitney

  • @daisydooker LAME !

  • Don´t forget Johnny cash and june carter

  • @RealCarlJohnson1 There are a few more than that lol but you are correct music these days tends to focus more on gimmicks and less on vocal quality.

  • same here,, i love buddy holly and eddie cochran.. i have all there records i love them ,, im 17 too

  • Same here man Im young but like these classics aswell, love Billy fury, Jerry lee lewis, Every Brothers and Chuck Berry also.

  • Can't be too young for such epic music!

  • Its upto people like us to restore good music in the West now - its been delibeately commercialised for financial exploitation - the focus on making good music has shifted. We can change this though.

  • @chantellef18 you are not too young to know good music. I was 9 when Buddy died and I respect you for your good taste in music.

  • Such a great time for songs. Glad Mike Berry (from last seasons of AYBS?) and his Outlaws took it upon themselves to do gigs & tributes to Buddy Holly. Active since the 60's. Good stuff.

  • Danke für das Video! Ich liebe es!!!

  • BILLY KUY . was a wonderful and fluent guitarist.

one of the outlaws i believe.

JOE MEEK only had class musicians

  • where can I get the chords to this?

  • he is from "are you being served"

  • he also played Mr Peters in Worzel Gummidge - the father of the two kids living in a caravan on the farm. Thats where I remember him from and his recording of "sunshine of your smile" released around the same time - about 1980.

  • great tribute to a great muscian

  • Song is hard to listen to. Makes me sad.

  • Golden!

  • 'when i was Buddy Holly in the London Production is sang this song'

Why did you sing the song if you were playing Buddy Holly, not a rude comment, just intrigued - was it an out of character moment after the play or something?

The song is completely awesome btw. Buddy Holly one of the greatest artists ever despite only living to 22. Extraordinary.

  • Went to the Joe Meek studios in '61 to hear Mike sing this one. It was a great day.

  • what were you doing there?

  • The BH appreciation Society organised a trip there. Strange, cramped little studio. But super music.

  • Als Musik noch Musik war ...

  • Very nice song...

And by the way very, very sweet guitar playin...

  • this is how i rember mike berry....top mussian

  • Yup. We'll always remember Buddy.....

  • February 3, 2009 will be the 50th anniversary of crash that killed Buddy, Ritchie and the Big Bopper. I will never forget that day.

  • I love all of Mikes records...especially"Stay Close to Me"...which was written by Buddy Holly

  • Habe diese Single aus den 60ern noch immer und höre sie immer wieder gerne. Wünsche dir und den deinen ein Glückliches Neujahr 2009.

  • Buddy du warst einzigartig!Danke Buddy für deine Musik!!

  • Music from Heaven ... thanks Buddy !

  • Buddy was my main man when I was growing up. I loved his simplicity.

  • I hope someone will compose an also great song, when I'm dead once.

  • These were the good old days! We'll never forget Buddy H.!!! RIP!

    Go, Mike Go!!!!

  • Thanks Tomylonely, another idiot who can't make a comment without including the F word, you must be a real joy at your family reunions or are they all as ignorant as you?

  • go mr. spooner!!

  • The guitarist on TRIBUTE is Billy Kuy, later of the Innocents (formerly Bobby Angelo & The Tuxedos, who evolved into "The End"), who issued discs backing Mike Berry (HMV) and also as a self-contained group (Columbia, Regal Zonophone). One of the finest of his era IMO.

  • Super Song der niemals an Aktualität verlieren wird. Höre ihn seit über 30 Jahren immer wieder.

  • My mums got this single and Its credited to Mike Berry and The Outlaws. So the Guitarist could be Ritchie Blackmore, The bassist is Chas Hodges from Chas and Dave Fame

  • Hard to believe this is the same man that played Mr. Spooner on BBC's 'Are you being Served'.

  • nicht nur elvis lebt,

auch buddy und das schon vieiiiiiiiiiiiil

    länger.
