I love the Nuke storyline but them waiting to have sex for like almost two years is stupid! These are two young gay men with hormones who have never had gay sex! Only Noah has slept with a girl but both guys must be dying and it takes way to long for it to happen.
I really like the Nuke storyline BUT it's completely unrealistic when it comes down to them being "alone" together. I'm guessing that as of this scene, after dating for at least a couple of months and being attracted to each other for a few more months, that they haven't consummated their feelings towards each other yet. That is what's unrealistic here. Most gay couple are in bed together before they even begin officially dating. They're taking it slow like it's 1850 or something.

You aren't overreacting. I was so pissed the first time I watched this. They act like they're living in the Victorian era. That party would have been the best thing ever on the show, but because they're afraid of a little nudity and marijuana they opt for "holding hands by the lake". No gay teenage boys would act like that. They'd find a way to have sex at any cost.
Like 1022roy said, the network banned any gay kissing/whatever for a certain period of time, meaning that the writers weren't able to have them do anything even if they wanted to.

Okay, now maybe they weren't treated equally as the straight couples who are always making out and having sex, but the one thing that Luke and Noah have above the straight couples is that they really did have romance, and a connection, and love. Because they waited they had a courtship, and it's sweet to see that (especially since I can always fast forward to a later episode where they make out)

No, it isn't. I'm not sure what you base your comments on but I have been a member of the gay community for a VERY long time. My partner and I have been together for 27 years, so I guess I have a vantage point that many other commentors don't have. All I was saying was that it is not reasonable to have hese boys/men never being able to have a sexual aspect to their realtionship because it is something they have said they want.
You are referring to young men that want to take it slow and let a relationship develop which is a fine thing, but that is not what Luke and Noah have indicated they want. In every encounter, they are eager to have a sexual relationship, but 'something' always comes up to thwart it. @JRRDPR : Yeah, Van is *amazing* isn't he..?It's unbelievable how he 'speaks' without words, emotions evident in his expressions-lingering/smouldering looks, little head gestures...sigh! If he were to look at me in that "kiss me, please" way..hell, I'd kiss him senseless! I'd probably faint first, though. OK, I am beginning to have a problem with the whole chaste relationship thing going on here with these two. The are teenage boys for Christ's sake, uh...they would have found a way to do it by now. I mean they live on a farm, even if they aren't allowed to share a room in the house, they would sneak off to the barn, or do it in Noah's truck or something. It's simply not a bit realistic that two healthy, young, HOT, young guys like that wouldn't be sleeping together after all this time!!

How many clips until the network ends the silly "kiss ban"....it is making the story a bit ridiculous. I hope it ends soon. I bet it drove the writers crazy...trying to create a realistic romance but not showing ANYTHING! It is starting to almost feel like a joke....like I bet the writers had a giggle with the "just say no to drugs" line and the "walk around the pond" line. It seems doubly silly when contrasted with how they show affection between Christian and Olli on "Verbotene Liebe" .

Before they ever met I thought this gay storyline will be a pathetic attempt like in some show in the 80's when 2 men acted they were attracted to each other but there was not even a hug let alone a peck or a kiss.But as you keep watching there will be lots of times when you'll think:Why didn't they kiss??

That party would have been the best thing ever on the show, but because they're afraid of a little nudity and marijuana they opt for "holding hands by the lake". No gay teenage boys would act like that. They'd find a way to have sex at any cost.

Okay, now maybe they weren't treated equally as the straight couples who are always making out and having sex, but the one thing that Luke and Noah have above the straight couples is that they really did have romance, and a connection, and love. Because they waited they had a courtship, and it's sweet to see that (especially since I can always fast forward to a later episode where they make out)

just bcuz ATWT doesn't let them kiss or have sex doesn't mean that the rest of what they're doing isn't acting like gay 20somethings. don't get me wrong. physical intimacy is huge (but that applies to anyone). it's just that if you are "in love", a lot of what they do is very normal. however, it is a little silly to believe that supposed 19 year olds (gay or straight, male or female) don't have a more...um...burgeoning sexual curiosity.

its a good portrayal of how it could and should be. All gay young men aren't hitting the clubs getting high and picking up tricks. Some guys DO want a relationship and a lasting one. I am glad however that luke/noah don't seem to be rushing into the "im going to be with you and only you froever and ever" stage. Sometimes writers make it seem like just because to peole are gay and compatible their your match for life which is just not true. ATWT has shown them having doubts as they should have.

No, it isn't. I'm not sure what you base your comments on but I have been a member of the gay community for a VERY long time. My partner and I have been together for 27 years, so I guess I have a vantage point that many other commentors don't have. All I was saying was that it is not reasonable to have hese boys/men never being able to have a sexual aspect to their realtionship because it is something they have said they want.

You are referring to young men that want to take it slow and let a relationship develop which is a fine thing, but that is not what Luke and Noah have indicated they want. In every encounter, they are eager to have a sexual relationship, but 'something' always comes up to thwart it. So don't misread what I said to make your point - make it independent of my point which apparently you didn't understand.

I apologize if i offended you. I really was not being argumentative just stating my thoughts. I agree that no i don't have your vantage point as i am not a gay man nor have i been in any kind of diehard, long lasting relationship such as yours. I just know that a lot of times in the portrayal of gay men in relationships there is the stigma of a "hit and run" which is true in some cases with some people and not so valid with others. appreciating what the writers did well in contrast to complaint.

I think I might be oversensitive to this as I have been 'battling' on another site with moralistic young gay men castigating other gay men that are 'more active' than they think they should be. I told them I lived through a time and buried 33 friends that were told by RW conservatives that they deserved what they got because of their promiscuous 'degenerate' lifestyle and it was pissing me off to hear that repeated by silly young gay men wanting to feel superior to some of their gay brothers.

That's understandable and upsetting. But i guess in every group of people classified as something whether it be a race or gender, religion, or sexual orrientation there WILL be haters and people that aim to make themselves feel better by forcing thier selfrighteous bullshit down your throat. It can be very discouraging...especially coming from your own...I would know, being christian and hearing other christians scream "your going to hell" to people just for loving someone...it sucks...big time.

I think it doesn't matter whether you are straight, bi or gay, you can appreciate gay relationship, because it's not about gender, it's about LOVE.
For example, I am a lesbian, and I love some gay couples (like Nuke or Brian/Justin from QAF) as much as I love lesbian couples. And I love some straight couples too.
Because LOVE is always beautiful, no matter what color it has!

So ive just had an epiphany.....i was wondering why the hell tony is sooooo into noah but doesn't look twice at luke when.... well.... luke is sex incarnate. Not that noah isnt gorgeous cause, duh, he sooooo is....but tony doesnt even look at luke.....ive determined even if tony is racey.....he's the sub in he and reg's relationship.
