Yes, this is a fantastic anime! It was the first one shown to me by a friend, and now years later it´s still one of my favorites! See it! :) The whole soundtrack is very good as well but this is the one that grips your heart, and after you've seen the series you will know why.

It is about the twelve HiME. the Hime are not allowed to love otherwise they would killed the person they dear most if they were defeated. the part about trapped in the cursed cage is sort of like how the HiME are destined to have a miserable lives such as losing the person they love the most.

i.e. Mai and Yuuichi.
