i just saw one of these in my aunts yard while i was walking her dog it sounded like it was going to attack so i pulled out my throwing knife but it wouldnt come out from under my dads truck i live in Tennessee
I just saw one last night! I thought it was a dog at first but when I stopped my car (in the middle of the road at night..hah) and got a good look I saw the bushy tail and it looked exactly like that one. I looked it up and it's a good omen :)
@DntToachTheChoclate Red fox not artic. They used to be a more common sight in England but due to over hunting for pelts and various reason their now more rare. Seeing a black fox is among the rarest sights you will see in a fox.
I saw a black fox about a week ago. The only part that wasn't black was the clean, white tip of the tail. Very cool. I saw it in Denver (in the city).
oh wow last time i saw a fox it was a red fox. i was waiting at a bus stop for school bus and he ran out of the woods chasing a bunny. he lost his meal though didn't expect me and we both froze for a moment and our eyes met, then he turned and walked off maybe to go find another rabbit. it was incredible and i will never forget that moment.
this is most likely a "cross fox", it could be a hybrid. i didnt see a white tip on the tail making it a true black "red fox". it is a rare sight indeed no matter what it is.
They're beginning to adapt everywhere. My chum has seen a fox from the window of his flat. He lives in the middle of a city with 150 000 inhabitants. And not just foxes. Polecats, badgers and martens are doing it too. I live in a suburb and I see their excrement everywhere.
that certain fox is rare but in eastern russia they breed foxes on fur farms that are black. thats just a queinceydence the 1 in the video. there in russia and china
Red foxes can come in red phase, silver/black phase, and cross phase (in the wild, at least) - "phase" just refers to their coloration pattern and doesn't have anything to do with their life stage. They maintain their genetically-determined coloration for their whole lives, though as newborns their fur in general is darker.
Yep, although I believe whites and marbles have only been bred in captivity (on fur farms, etc.). Correct me if I'm wrong, but those phases haven't been known to occur in the wild.

There's a black fox with a red fox that lives up around the cadet area at the Air Force Academy. The Cadets have adopted them as unofficial mascots

@DntToachTheChoclate It is actually a melanistic red fox. Arctic foxes have small ears and their bodies are more stout.

@claritonclear Yes, it is a black cross fox. A color phase of red fox. I have see a few cross fox but only 1 all black like this one before.
dizzydiver18866881 1 year ago
@claritonclear Not all foxes have white tail tips. I have seen quite a few with only a few hairs or no white at all. It's a silver phase red fox.

Daw, he's a cutie.
Foxes are like dogs trying to look like cats. Or teeny-weeny, much less intimidating little wolves.

This black fox is a genetic anomoly. The right genes came together and here his is.
bupo113 3 years ago
I heard the black fox was a red fox in a different stage where its fur was colored differently, usually when it's young.
Can a fox stay black its entire life time or will it eventually turn red?
Miidniight404 3 years ago
