Yeah it was Jayne Litterick. It was 1984. Current Affair was doing a story on women in male dominated sports and thats why she was being filmed. A couple of riders were interviewed and made comments before the announcement that she was dead and it was beaten up to sound as though they were heartless and racing was all important.
I think this is the fatal crash of Jane Litterick. I just checked Motorsportmemorial and 3 riders died at Amaroo Park. This video fits the description of Litterick's crash.
I believe it was Jayne Litterick who was killed. A Current Affair beat the whole thing up as is their way and made Motorcycle Road Racers out to be heartless and uncaring.
Not sure of the name but it was a girl road racer around (1984) that got killed while one of the current affairs shows was doing a story about her.The chicane for motorcycle racing was put in not long after that.
@ChiliFan06 Found this short clip on an old VHS. The clips it was with were from the early 80's if that helps. I was hoping someone could enlighten me. Thanks for the info.

At a guess this is early 1984, and this crash was the catalyst for the chicane being put in at that corner (leading onto the front straight).
The Castrol 6hr was also moved from Amaroo to Oran Park a few months later
