  • Theres huge differences between singles, duals, and triples.

To start theres the obvious the headroom, then you have the feel is different.

Especially with the older 2 chs.

Then you have the sound differences, singles are boomy as are 3 ch duals and triples, they have insane amounts of bass, even with an od its hard to control, the 2 chs are really the only way to go other than the newer reborn 3 chs but youd have to be crazy to pay over $1000 for a recto lol

  • whis one is the best - Single, Dual or triple?

  • @Ango360 i think a 50w is already loud enough. Dual is like a head for people that gigs a lot and the same with he Trible excpet its a bit louder.

  • @Ango360 The different rectifiers are pretty much exactly the same. The only difference you really run into are between the two and three channels rectos. Other than that the sound is pretty close between the three, just a little quieter on the lower wattages. A common misconception is that since the single recto is 50w and the dual recto is 100w that the single recto will only get 1/2 the volume. Actually, to only get to half the volume of a dual recto it would need to be a 10w recto.

  • is that an avatar cab with the marshall? Ive been seeing these things everywhere! How do u like urs?

  • does this has a lot of volumen for lives and a good punch like the jcm 800????

    good video man!

  • I prefer my recto on vintage!

  • Please record some clean stuff! Thinking of buying it but havent heard enough cleans.

  • @jsabo1929

    I'm renting one right now

and I can tell you the cleans r really nice

I have everything pointed at 1:00 exept the gain which is at 12:00

  • Velvet Revolver :P:P:P

  • Is there any difference in the series 2 and older Ringle Rec. 50 heads ...like amount of preamp tubes cause I found one Im lookin at...

  • Hey man. I bought one of these and im wondering what cabinet will bring out the best sound of this amp. is the mesa cab good, or should i go with a marshall cab?

  • I would prefer a 1960 marshall cabinet, it would sound like "less modern".

  • @GuitarRocks23455

I've heard the Mesa cabs are more difficult to record in studio(a lot of low end and really boomy), where the Marshall cabs sound more brilliant and versatile.

  • what type of tubes are in there (6L6 or EL34's)

  • I think 6L6

  • he should probably switch the bias switch to match his tubes. he has it on EL-34

  • dude the playin the songs and the sound just brings a big ol friggin grin on my face and im a 16 year old metalhead!!!

  • no - the differences are wattage, and in some cases channel + the dual has more gain on tap.

  • Do you use your effects in a in the FX loop? Can you briefly order your effects from guitar to amp please?

  • Need more mids?

Its a freakin camera mic--ever heard an album recorded with a 50 cent mic?

People..stop playing 5000 dollars worth of amps through a 50 cent mic. You can tell nothing. Anyone who commented on sonic quality needs a CAT scan

  • All my amp recordings now are being done using proper mics now. :)

  • @Rizzy55

Burzum uses 50 cent mics for recording. He sucks. But just saying. He uses the cheapest mics he can find.

  • do you like this amp better than the marshall?

  • marshall vintage modern i can see there?

  • yes

  • Needs more Mids. XD

  • I'm looking at a Single Rectifier with EL34's in it. I've already preferred the brighter sound you get out of them. Gonna sound great with my PRS C22.

I'm also looking at a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL, and I can't decide which I want.

  • So am I, except with a Gibson SG

  • a mesa not sounding good...hmm..strange..........

  • Love that STP riff at the beginning

  • haha it's actually Velvet Revolver, but close.

  • ahh yes my bad

    lol

  • i bought this amp 2 months ago and run it through a egnater tourmaster with the vintage 30's and i couldn't ask for anything more

  • how do you do that part at 0:22 like the almost roaring sound?

  • its a bend to the same note, for example you play the 5th fret on the high e string and bend the 8th fret on the b string up. if you do it slowly and rest in a position, where the difference between both tones is very small, you get that nice sound

  • is there a big diference between 6l6 and el34 ?

  • huge. 6l6 is for the american tone, el34 is for the british tone

  • American tone? Like what bands?

  • american tone (6l6): more bass, heavy, better cleans like metallica (all the bands using amps with 6l6 like boogie, peavy)

british tone (el34): bright sound like guns and roses, acdc (all the bands using amps with el34 like marshall, orange, vox)

  • Ahh okay. Thanks man!

  • Could you demo using a 2x12 rectifier cabinet?

  • Are you running on modern mode?

  • what do the dual and tripple reflectors do that the single doesnt

  • volume

  • 50 to 100 watts and tube rectifiers

  • I have a Mesa Solo 50 v2 and there's something going on with the FX Loop in the back. I tryed plugging about 4 different device in it and there's huge deep low sound happening. As if it was a real deep bass sound with tremolo in it that just don't stop. Then if tryed to lower the volume of the device (in this case a Boss ME-10) and it stops. Anyone has that happening?

  • it's "slither"

  • what song?

  • hey the start sounded like she builds quick machines by velvet revolver

  • its slither

  • I like how you tried to get a close up of the knobs, but you can't really see the settings anyway. Is that a green mesa?

  • stupid question, which would have more gain? The Single, Dual or Triple? this sounds like its a little more heavier that the other rectos

  • i hate hearing the picking in the packground.. i wanna hear just the amp :( bleh

  • plz answer back- Which amp (marshall vm or the mesa)do you think has a great rockin roll tone but can also get cranked up for some 80's metal( i mean-which amp is has a good respons when you palm mute?

  • I played a Vintage Modern the other day, you definitely wouldn't want it for 80's metal.

  • is it raw, vintage or modern?

  • are you running EL34's instead of 6L6's??? sounds too bright and high, EL34's and recitfiers do not match period.

  • well dime used the digitech whammy i believe. its a great tool. but yeah, i would definitely pick up a whammy pedal decked out in camo with the CFH logo. that would be badass.

  • pardon my mistake of words there. i meant wah haha.

  • sounds just like slither!

  • vintage modern or single, which would be better for muff pi

  • is that a dime whammy can c wiv my little eyes?

  • yes your little eyes see correctly :) haha

  • nice... very nice

  • your mom can feel my love buzz.

  • isn't canadian and american money par^o)

  • Is this basically a Dual or Triple with less power?

  • basically, it just doesn't have 2 rectifiers. or 3 with the triple

  • how much it costs... the head only?

  • 1799.99 american

  • The list price is about $1400 USD from what I've seen on they price list.

  • for the single rec i think 1200.

  • that sound is bitchin man

  • Stacking an AC conductor on the amp head can't do anything good for your tone. You can't see it but EMI is always there.

Also, don't scamp on good cable either. What ever you connected the head and cab with looked cheap and thin. Also be sure to upgrade the wire inside the cab. Mesa bight be the end all of amps for some you can easily and cheaply improve them. You will notice an improvement in tone with better wire and cable at least.

  • The powerbar was up there for convenience, lots of switching around equip, and there are a mix of good and poor cables. Never considered the wire upgrades inside that cab, but will be looking at the innards of my avatar soon.

  • Awesome tone. I heard you got a Rockerverb 50 now...how does it stack up?

  • Weelll, different. More organic ? whatever that means. Way different tone that suits what I've been playing lately. If I could have a harem of amps the mesa would still be there to pleasure me at my behest :)

  • I loved the sound you had with the VM, too bad you sold it...youre awesome though~

  • Hey thanks cycle, ya the vm was a great amp, but Wasn't giving me that something I can't describe

  • So what made you sell the mesa?

  • Wasn't the sound I had bouncin around in my head

  • Sounds rockin man

  • One word: Brunetti

  • if ur gonna play VR use that lonely vintage modern over there...

  • AAAH But alas the vintage modern has been sold....long story.

  • NOOOOOO!!!!! the vintage modern was sold?! that sucks. marshalls rule! but mesas are kewl too.

  • Don'tgetmestartedonguitarsandpedals

  • Dude so whats your current amp that you use? and how can you afford them? lol well selling the other ones right? hhmmm haha

  • Orange rockerverb 50. Trades, returns, sell and some very patient dealers in Calgary. I work, and I owe. Finally I feel the tone in this amp is as close as I'm gonna get for the next few years. Now I can pay back the car fund I was saving up. One of the other right now :)

  • well as dave krushner uses mesa boogie i think the boogie is fine

  • agreed

  • You have made good video. This is tons of better than average youtube guitar amp demo. I got that amp too, and I have to say, that i wont sell it. I just love it. I can play country, classick rock, rock, metal, from CCR to Opeth to The Darkness. Many times can hear that there is something missing, cure for that is just little EQ to effeckt loop. Adorable. Btw, very good song you played here, and the other vid from this.

  • I just love it , but the only thing that keeps me from buying 1 is that it always sounds like something is missing, must be kinda like a thin sound or missing effect, i just cant figure it out , but all i can say its a wonderful piece you have there but its missing the rich thickness i crave.

  • I'm selling this badboy on craigslist Calgary. If it doesn't sell there then I will move on to e-bay. I may sell the head and cab separate.

  • This is John's amp now. Vintage mode to answer your question John.
