@criminyjimjims Yeah, it's not so much that it makes it better but it's a common misconception that BTTF's music is just a bunch of noise. It's actually pretty accurate and doesn't need too much editing to fix it up for the proper length.
@2536b No it doesn't. That would mean LJN has access to time travel so they could see a game that wasn't made yet, and if they had that they would also have the time to put more development time into the game and make it better, and they didn't really do that.
@TheCheezWizz Then it is true! Because it takes longer than 4 years of trying to make a game this bad. That is why they spent 2 extra years by going back in time! That is the only way this game could be as bad as it is.
NO. FUCKING. WAY. I got this game soon after it came out when I was a kid. I was SOOOO disappointed. I'm seeing love for this game in the comments and I do not get it. I hated this game quite thoroughly. But, even I could not have made the connection between "Power Of Love" and the godawful track that kept looping throughout that ENTIRE game!
I always had a suspicion that the song MIGHT be The Power of Love and now this video proves that suspicion. Nice mix! Even though you did ave to edit the chiptune a bit, there's no denying the similarities. In fact, I'll just rest easy believing they're the same. =P
IM ashamed to say i actuly liked this game it wasnt half bad it was fun it just had.. allmost nothing to do with back to the future AND i thank you so much for this video I just thought of this when ever the song botherd me and it helpd so much that i actuly beat the game
wonder why they sped it up. It kind of sounds like it was built for 50hz europeon televisions, so when played on a 60hz american television you get the crap we hear. Kind of odd considering LJN was an american company. Someone should try playing BttF in PAL mode it might actually sound right and play at the speed it might of actually been meant for.
yah right! not quite! this music would have somewhat good to hear in this game, but unfortunatley we subjected to the crappy music that drove us nuts!!!
"It seems LJN just seems to own a monopoly of shitty games!" Back to the Future Roger Rabbit Karate Kid Friday the 13th Nightmare on Elm Street Spiderman:Return of the Sinister Six The Amazing Spiderman X-Men: The Video Game Wolverine T2: The Arcade Game Terminator 2: Judgment Day And the list goes on...
Two- They made an 8-Bit rendition of the song for the game but couldn't get a license to actually use the song. Instead of removing the song and coming up with another one (which would have caused a delay), the programmers simply sped up the music so it doesn't sound like "Power of Love".
Not saying that either one is correct, but those were the first two thoughts to come to mind.
i know it is a bad built sentence...i wrote it like yesterday at 12 o'clock in the night...btw, i mean it so...the music was made fast on purpose, to make you lose the game (MAYBE)
why they felt the need to super speed everything up is still a mystery, maybe they thought it should be more upbeat and energetic? haha this discovery is gonna blow my mind for at least the rest of the day.
yeah it matches EXACTLY. You're dead on. I can die happy now haha, makes complete sense along with there being a super sped up version of Johnny B Goode.
The arrangement isn't exactly like listening to the Huey Lewis song but it's what they were clearly doing. The chords and structure of the song are very evident. Awesome discovery!
You know, I always wondered why I liked this song when reviewers were criticizing it. Now I know...I liked this song in the movie, so I like it in the game. Thanks for posting this.
Okay, now you're just reaching. =P ...well, okay. THEY were reaching. Let's be honest here, though. It's pretty vauge. It synchs up if you slow it down, yes...but it's still pretty vauge.
No arguement on the School Dance song matching up with Johnny B Good, though.
I'm saying the "run around" theme passes only a vauge resemblence to "The Power of Love" as I hear it. It's not to say that it doesn't have almost exactly the same layout as far as "parts"... But for the most part, there's only a passing resemblence.
wats the point of this game?
It has no time travel

I made a video with just the 8 bit song playing and not with the actually song dubbed over it. Same for Johnny B Good.
jeager1999 10 months ago
I honestly don't think that the fact that they got the music right helps the game at all.

Mind blown. I'm assuming they started off at the proper speed, but thought it would sound better in a video game sped up to pick up the pace.
bengraven 11 months ago
Obviously LJN would have got sued up the ass if they made the music sound exactly like 'power of love' soundtrack. They were smart.....

Awesome comparison. I knew that the theme music from the game is basically a fast version of "Power of Love" by Huey Lewis & the News.

If only the music in this game was that slow, people might have caught on sooner.
RedSalamander 2 years ago 12
if it was that slow, LJN might've had legal issues coming.
on that note though, BTTF Part II & III Featured a pretty well copied (although shortened) version of Back in Time. Different game composer?

Probably the worst movie inspired game of all time, music they added to it as well "a cheap MIDI version" of a true classic was garbage.

They must have just forgotten to add a certain sound tone one with the main chorus
SmashFiles 2 years ago
the tune is sped up in the game so much that it bears no resemblance to the power of love though so your video has no point
the real question should be why didn't they just slow down the tune?
BassGoesBoom1 3 years ago
Yeah it does, the music in the game matches the music sheet for the guitar.

Two thoughts:
One- The programmers suck.
Two- They made an 8-Bit rendition of the song for the game but couldn't get a license to actually use the song. Instead of removing the song and coming up with another one (which would have caused a delay), the programmers simply sped up the music so it doesn't sound like "Power of Love".

I hope you weren't trying to call everyone a buttmunch (title).
Because I had absolutely no clue that the game's music was Huey Lewis on 2 bottles of Jolt + loads of amphetamines.

I'm referring to the people who thought it isn't. That requires being a hardass set in your ways.

With that said, and that I initially think it wasn't, asswipe (since you insist on the insult in your title), I say the following:
Not everyone is as fucking intelligent as you to notice this fucking shit. You do not have to rub this shit in everyone's fucking faces.
Jesus fucking Christ, already!
(Consider this a flame-response to your flaming everyone, which includes myself.)
