I cant believe he didnt have a language! Where is he from because it looks like he is of asian descent and there are lots of asian sign languages so i think its a real shame he wasnt able to learn one of them but instead had to stay silent for three years. I could only imagine what that does for your development as a child, your thought process and your memories.
He is really cute and seems like he is really comming to his own what whit correcting his little brothers asl (in another video).
@avbria Thank you for the correction. Honestly, that is never something I really thought of, but makes perfect sense. Saying impaired does seem like you're referring to a disability so I understand why the term is not used. Thank you also for the encouragement. :)
This was so beyond adorable. I began learning ASL when my daughter was a few months old to help communicate with her before actual speech began developing. She is not hearing impaired, but now at 17 months still uses the signs even when she says the word. I began to learn for her and fell so in love with it that I'd like to be an interpreter in the future. I wish more people would share their experiences as you have here and that more people would not look to those who are deaf as if they have
@Rjmaaske That's great you are using signs with your baby even though she is not Deaf. Just letting you know that we don't use hearing impaired to describe us. Just please use Deaf/Hard of Hearing, that's it. Thanks.

Thank you for posting these. More parents of Deaf kids need to see the natural acquisition of ASL. God bless you.
