Those fish must have been carved up whilst still alive. If you look closely you can see behind the heads that the dish is made of a longitudinal slice of the fishes body. Its' tail rises up behind. Pretty horrible.

when a fish dies of suffocation its mouth and gills are WIDE open as the last gasp for oxygen occurs, the fish dies and the gills and mouth remain open. This "Ikizukuri" video you see fish is served with a beating heart, so VERY much alive. Also the anatomy of a fish shows that essentially all of its vital organs are located inside or very close to the head and Ive seen other videos of fish filleted like that alive and have the remainder of its body put back in the fish tank and swimming alive.

Only thing I'd speak against is that they basically put that twitching head on the plate and maybe children shouldn't see food like that. Personally, I overall believe that this isn't so bad and would maybe even order it if given the opportunity, especially since fish seem to have a short attention span, they probably don't feel so much pain as they do instinct unlike cats and dogs. My opinion.
