  • This has been my ringtone pretty much since SMG came out! It's fantastic!

  • btw does this remind anyone of starfox?

  • i've always love this theme it shakes my soul to the core ..idk why tho tsk oh weell <3

  • this was a good game, but i wish a 3d mario game would have a storyline like the paper mario series. now that would be sweet

  • like you're on a death march…

  • I was wondering if Super Mario Galaxy would make it onto this list.

Now that I think about it, Super Mario Galaxy is the spiritual sequel to Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. 3D Mario games are few and far between, but damn are they good.

  • @Finnius14 Agreed. Shame it was linear though.

  • @Finnius14 Damn Straight!

  • KING K WUZ HERE 2011

  • This is one of my favorite Mario themes. Buoy Base beats all Mario themes IMO

  • I hate battlecock

  • @charger619c HOW COULD YOU!?!?!?

  • this song gives me a 'Jet Force Gemini' feeling... also a reminder that i have yet to beat the game. (after 5 YEARS OF PLAYING IT!!!)

  • @shadowzapdos lol, i just got my wii last month and already beat it

  • Damn purple coin challenges!

  • Lol, they should hire an orchestra more often for Mario games. :)

  • my grandma loves this song

  • The worst thing about this game is that I don't know which mario galaxy I like more :(

  • @oscarnswe I easily say the second one.

  • @oscarnswe Easier to decide than you'd think.

Galaxy 1 was a huge step forward for Mario in terms of both gameplay and music.

Galaxy 2 was a mishmash of recycled content with a few lousy new features.

    Take your pick.

  • @PaperMario15 I agree with your comment. Seems like most gaming websites prefer SMG 2 but I prefer the first one. The music was memorable (I can't remember any tune from smg2), and I played until I got all of the stars. SMG 2 was more of the same, which wasn't bad, but it was not as good as playing SMG 1 for the first time.

  • @oscarnswe Galaxy 2 perfected all the mechanics in the first one, and actually had a competent HUD. I'd go with that one.

  • why this remembers me of prince of persia?

  • @Kesvalk

It has a lot of kind of Arabic themes in it.

  • u know forget it I STARTED IT and I AM gonna END IT IM SORRY FAGGOTS

  • @TheMrCrazyDude21 ooh!

your one of those guys who's loved by too few people and has to vent on yt!

I know what'll help a troll like you!....

Care bears get ready for action..1...2....3!.... xD

  • @garSHITFACED lol i believe i said I FUCKIN ENDED IT

  • @TheMrCrazyDude21

This must mean he's immune ^_^

  • @TheMrCrazyDude21 Lol, get therapy.

  • Guys quit arguing just enjoy the epicness of BR galaxy music :D

  • one of the most beautiful peices of music i have ever heard.Thank you nintindo.

  • FOR NARNIA!

  • i get that slight hint of british troops marching trough the sands of north africa during ww2 :)

  • Send in the Space Troops!

  • This makes me so glad that nintendo was thinking about putting an all-orchestrated soundtack in the upcoming zelda game

  • Chuggaaconroy's favorite Super Mario Galaxy song is right here in this video.

  • This Game IS the best game ever to Wii

Its One OF the best games Right now!

Its One OF the best Games EVER to be made!

  • @starzerg96 Naw, this isn't the best Wii game.

    Super Mario Galaxy 2 is!

  • @cojosao616 Super Mario Galaxy 2 isn't even in the same league as the original.

The original wasn't 50% recycled content, so that's kind of an advantage.

  • @starzerg96 YES I KNOW!!!!! I love it SOOO much, that I ALWAYS play it, even though I beat everything.

  • Man, I forgot exactly how awesome the Battlerock Galaxy's music was *w* I think I remember getting stuck there a lot, so I'd just sit and think while humming to this.

  • Man doesn't that string section remind you of Star Wars Ep V?

  • I like it how this a military remix of the miscellaneous galaxies of the game.

  • With Mario now in space it got me thinking....why don't Nintendo do a cross over game with Starfox and Mario? There hasn't been a good console Starfox game for far too long.

  • @celark That'd be a cool idea.

  • wanna know how big mario is? he has his own orchestra, I'm not kidding, its actualy called the super mario galaxy orchestra. with conductor koji kondo of couse

  • Lol if only people could hear themselves. Talking as though a bee costume is somehow in a different category of things as the rest of that stuff. What, just because you're more familiar with the other stuff somehow makes it better? Or uh...less gay...lol.

  • @darkemg shut the fuck up faggoler

  • @darkemg You're a homo for even taking the time to think that

  • @darkemg dude our gay not mario. cocknocker

  • @darkemg May I remind you that Super Mario Bros 3, one of the greatest games of all time, had Racoon, Frog and Squirel suits!

  • not my favorite SMG song, but that doesn't mean it sucks

  • This sounds like something for StarFox.

  • Yea i know.

  • this song is like perfect for a war movie xD

  • This has a Jet Force Gemini vibe.

  • Yes! Another Geminin fan =3

  • Jet Force is awsm. I wish they made a second or somthing. Good thing Wii has homebrew.

  • I know right

  • @PappinAce indeed!

  • You know, every time I decide that I want to replay Mario Galaxy, it's only a little bit for the gameplay. The gameplay itself, in the end, doesn't wow me too much now that I've experienced it.

But the music is what really sells it. So wonderful, with such quality, and such style and soul. Marvelous.

  • Love this song. Around 1:20 I can't help but be reminded of the Tintin theme song.

  • Has a Legend of Zelda feel

  • Purple coin song was better in my opinion

  • @SynAngel1 I like it better, too.

  • @SynAngel1 I think they both were awesome because they both sound epic.

  • eww this is epic :/ almost reminiscent of some smb3 songs

  • Eww? How is epic-ness gross?

  • not really gross but cringe-inducing

  • You are a strange duck, Mr.ponjavic.

  • I love the Soundtrack of SMG.

  • This is my favorite song from SMG! This one and Good Egg Galaxy are my two favorites.

  • this is clearly based on Mars by Gustav Holst, but that is a very good thing

  • Time signatures are differant. But your right though :)

  • ya, i just meant it has a similar rythmic feel. Mars is also a much darker sounding song

  • You are right. This song is 4/4 while mars was 5/8.

  • mars was 5/4 not 5/8

  • Hmm, I was just thinking of that.

  • I was surprised that dreadnought was so much harder then this. Especially the comet. The dreaded purple coin comet.

  • my 2nd favourite of all time i think

awesome game, awesome soundtrack - thanks nintendo

  • The soundtrack in this game is one of the best I've heard. I feel in love with the soundtrack so much that I bought it on playasia (2-Disc Version) and listen to it every now and then. Gusty Garden as everybody has said is the better track of the whole soundtrack.

  • Ok I love this song, but it wasn't my favorite in the whole game. my personal favorite was the gusty garden galaxy, especially the fanfare at the beginning. this is a very close 2nd though

  • I agree with you 100% I also think the Good Egg galaxy is up there.

  • Gusty Garden has an excellent intro, although I always thought that it was a bit too dramatic for a relatively calm stage.

  • This Galaxy was my fav glaxy and the Game RCOKD! but i still prefer mario sunshine tho

  • When looking to gameplay aspects galaxy is definitely better than sunshine

You gotta see beyond personal taste, im not stating you can't like it better.

  • Just because Sunshine didnt follow Mario's same type of gameplay, doesnt mean its not a kick ass game(which it is!)

  • lots of Star Fo 64 vibes in this tune. Awesome.

  • I like Buoy Base theme more than this. I still like this though.

  • This is one of the best games ever made in my opinion. And the soundtrack is freakin amazing.

  • @ParaSwarm You don't need to say it's your opinion. It's a FACT!

  • @ParaSwarm SMG2 beats it by a long shot, but prior to its release.. yeah.

  • @Reaperonatricycle smg 2 is shit faced like your mother the first one is LEGENDARY AND FUCKIN EPIC

  • @TheMrCrazyDude21 they see you trollin, they laughin

  • @Reaperonatricycle ??????? english please

  • @TheMrCrazyDude21 in a nutshell.. you suck.

  • @TheMrCrazyDude21 1 was great, but the galaxies were boring, only a few faves, and the soundtrack can't be matched, 2 is better in every way, other than story and maybe a few other little things, like the hub, although the hub in 1 was inconvenient, it felt right for the sub series, its more convenient in 2 to have a map system, but it doesn't feel right, AND HOW THE HELL ARE GALAXIES INSIDE A WORLD????? I thought worlds were in galaxies, what evs, nintendo logic. 1 feels more graceful though.

  • @TheMrCrazyDude21 ... seeing this makes me feel more confident in believing Reaperonatricycle. Troll

  • @strang14 wow... i wasnt even fucking talking to you faggotass

  • @TheMrCrazyDude21 Its youtube. You are talking to everybody who feels like commenting.

  • @TheMrCrazyDude21 Dude, both of them are the same, music and levels. And you don't need to always emphasize your comments!!!!!!!

  • @Reaperonatricycle You are sorta right. Smg has some better songs, but in my opinion, I think the're both the same.

  • good choice. now add gusty garden galaxy and good egg galaxy. this game seriously is in the running for my favorite soundtrack

  • Oh yeah, best mario game for sure. Best soundtrack too

  • i agree with you. I want the soundtrack NOW

  • lol even though its about 100 dollars

  • lol true

  • That has to be the best Mario game ever made.

  • I remember getting this game and beating it in like 20 hours game time. This game kicks so much ass. 10/10 in my book.

  • @milkit878 Yeah, this game is very fun to play. I play it all the time.

  • This game is the tops! A real successor to 64

  • i know i'm probably the only one who thinks this, but i like super mario sunshine better than 64 and galaxy

  • ya sunshine is really fun but i just love galaxy.

  • nope i like it too. I wish galaxy was a little harder but i also like sunshine more not by much though

  • well you sir are a retard because i never said i didn't like galaxy and i wasn't putting the game down in anyway i just said i liked sunshine better it was more challenging. my opinion and mine opinion alone

  • actully it is a matter of taste, not everyone loves to play galaxy. i love galaxy i just love sunshine more that's all there is to it. nothing more than that and why do you keep on insisting that galaxy is better? i never said it was bad i just said i like sunshine better, i didn't say sunshine was a better game. in your opinion you say galaxy is way better game in my opinion i say sunshine is more challenging and to me more fun

  • sunshine was definitely fun, I really liked that nintendo tried so many new things with it, I just found it to be too hard for me

  • true it was a little difficult, for me at first it was but it's easy now

  • Jeez, it's the guys OPINION that sunshine is better. In fact, I though Sunshine was a pretty good game as well. Get over it. -_-

  • jeez man.... i just wanted to join the "jeez"ing, if you will.

  • geez man, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. dont put him down for what he thinks.

  • OMG OMG this song is so EPIC!!

  • Even though the game wasnt revolutionary, I believe that Super Mario Galaxy surpassed Super Mario 64 in every aspect! And I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the unique setting and the amazing soundtrack!

  • I love Super Mario Galaxy ^^ Prefer SM64 but this game is amazing :D

  • Super Mario Galaxy is the greatest game of all time.

    All non-believers will be obliterated.

  • Super Mario Galaxy's soundtrack is phenomenal. I actually downloaded every track to listen to the whole game. I eventually added three tracks to my collection, including this one (which reminds me very much of The Planets).

The other two were Good Egg Galaxy and Gusty Garden Galaxy.

  • I haven't ever played this but sounds good^^ How many have noticed that on the cover, there are little sparks at U, R, M, R, G, A and Y? Designer was having fun ^^

  • haha xD yeah XDXD

  • god that joke is so old

  • I always liked Spack Junk galaxy the best. BTW, where are you finding these songs?

  • This is epic material. It's the best soundtrack I've heard in a LONG time!

Gusty Garden and Good Egg FTW!!!

  • i love this song

  • You can hear him stepping to keep Mario from sleeping. ;)

  • OMG give Galaxy a friggin OSCAR now!!!!!

It owes nothing to hollywood productions

  • Nice man I luv it!

  • best is Drip drop galaxy

i love all mario water levels music Espescially the 64 one

  • me to

  • @Mahdino Dude, what the heck?

  • @Waluigi2401 ikr ... seeing my comment I had the same reaction .. wtf is my comment about anyway O_O .. but then again that was 3 years ago ...

  • I loved this galaxy for the music alone. Superb.

  • This somehow makes me think of an old James Bond movie... driving along the coast in an Aston Martin, with a girl in a pink dress in the front seat.

  • Does this music remind anyone else of the theme from Lawrence of Arabia? My dad said that when he first heard this. I figured I'd ask around and see if anyone else thought that.

  • I only saw that movie once and it was in class several years ago so I don't remember...

  • Of course, I was talking about all the NEW pieces Koji Kondo composed, of course he's credited for the music also because he composed all the old classic themes too.

  • I think the Good Egg Galaxy song is way better, especially since that's a Koji Kondo piece, this one isn't. This song is probably my 3rd or 4th favorite, then Melty Molten after this one, then before this one would have to be Buoy Base Galaxy's music, but out of all of those, Good Egg Galaxy is the only one actually composed by Koji Kondo, Kondo only composed the Comet Observatory, Good Egg Galaxy, and the song playing at the extended ending, which is the Comet Observatory's theme anyways.

  • Where did you find this? He seriously only composed two/three for this game? I didn't know that. Battlerock is my favorite, then Good Egg, Melty Molten, Observatory, Buoy Base, and I actually can't keep that in order past Battlerock.

  • I found it on some interview thing that he only worked on 4 of the orchestrated songs, and people named all the new ones he composed, and there were only 3, I think the 4th was the Airship theme from SMB3. he only composed the Observatory, Good Egg, and the one in the unlockable end cutscene, which is pretty much the Observatory theme, just with a piano.

  • I think the Purple Coin Music in this level is better. and Gusty Garden and Any of the songs related to Bowser.(damn those are epic)

  • Best song in the game...

    I wants on my music!

  • This song sounds like it's an arrangement of that sky song in SMB3. :)

    I like this very much.

  • Nice and dramatic song. I like it too!

  • this is the game with the MOST GENIUS SOUNDTRACK EVER!

but that one from brawl will be better :P

  • when i first heard this song it reminded me of star wars. :-) this music roks.

  • This music is awesome,10/10 (or 5/5 XD)

  • yeah! I had been looking for this song for a long time and I just found it.

    this is my favorite !

  • You know, I've heard a lot of people drooling about this song, but it doesn't seem so great to me. To me, the best song so far is Bowser Star Reactor.

  • And the gusty garden theme too. I like the haunted galaxy violin too.

  • It might be the Bouy Base Theme which is more epic, probably getting the two confused.

  • I have to disagree, I believe this song is one of the best. I think it's the melancholy violin that mixes with the marching drum so well.

  • I'm jealous. I assume you have this wonderful game. So, is it better than SM64?

  • Yeah it's better than SM64, and that's coming from someone who has amazing memories of that game. It's probably the best game I've played in years. It's more linear though, so it's more like a 2D Mario in that sense. Awesome game.

  • Miyamoto went to the whole galaxy thing to escape the linear qualities of Mario o.0

  • no, he just wanted the game to be a refreshing change of pace from the usual platforming games.

i dont think this one is any more linear than SM64 though.

  • What I meant by linear (and don't take that as a bad thing, because it certainly isn't), is that the paths you need to take to get to the different stars are handed to you. You are forced to take that certain path to get to that certain star. Except for the secret stars of course. And this is why M64 didn't feel as linear.

  • If you think about it, the original mario games were all linear. When the series went to 3D (mario 64) it suddenly became non-linear.
