@therealbronger How do you define "best"? In terms of results, Nicklaus was the greatest and will remain so for a long time..We all know many gifted sportsmen, not just golfers, who never achieved their full potential in competition so you can argue that "greatness" is deinfed by how well you can translate whatever talent you possess into measurable results...
Jack was Class all the way! He credits his career solely on his wife Barbara who mainly brought up their 5 children when he was on the road playing tournies. What a life. Now that's what I call the 'straight and narrow'

my earliest memory of childhood was walking into my mother's bedroom and seeing Jack Nicklaus viciously sodomising my mother........ i cried all day under the stairs......... 20 years later anytime i see him a shiver goes up my spine
there was no doubt in my mind that that putt was going in when he hit it. It would be impossible for him to close out his career without an ending like that
Someone told me recently that now when he plays golf he never putts from within 10 feet, if it is within 10 he just picks it up, has one putt from distance close ones he doesn't bother, when asked why says he has spent his whole life shaking over 8 foot putts and doesn't need the stress anymore. Would probably hole most of them anyway, respect to Mr Nicklaus from Scotland.
gives me goosebumps. Jack was so much fun to watch growing up. Tiger seems to be in the lead most of the time.....I remember Jack charging from behind and how thrilling it was.
I'm going to the open this year :D

If you had a dry eye watching his last major then you don't have a soul.

Wat a great way to finish his british open career with a birdie putt at the final hole. Only Jack.
