  • I agree with 'fourny1060. These Sephardic songs lead me to a place within me wherein I feel totally centered as a singer and musician. No other music does that to the same extent, with the exception of Scottish Gaelic songs.

  • @SuperMischa123 Dear friend, it must be such a wonderful coincidence that PrimaRagazza introduced you to one and only Jose Lemos's art at the same time when I saw your comment on Daniel Taylor's video and shared with you Lemos's unbelievably beautiful rendition of Verdi prati!:-) Do you believe in such coincidences?:-)I still recommend you very much to listen to Lemos's Verdi prati, E pur io torno and all his Sephardic songs too which is difficult to say what is better, e.g. Esterica Sarfati:-)

  • Сказочная музыка, приятный голос, чудесная атмосфера! Спасибо за это волшебство!

С наилучшими пожеланиями из России :)

  • @Geirby87 Dear Marianna, I'll just translate your comment:-). "Magical music, pleasant voice, wonderful atmosphere! Thank you for this magic!

From Russia with the best wishes:)" I'd like to join you with the best wishes from Canada and Russia too!:-) Thanks for your personal mail. You are right. You definitely should remember this name - Jose Lemos:-) I appreciate your taste:-)

  • Music to immerse oneself in? Makes me sigh with contentment.

  • Astonishing vocal talent and such beautiful performance !

  • @TheGreatPerformances Agreed:-)

  • I love it!

  • I like it.

  • Interesting, thanks for sharing.

  • Interesting, thanks for sharing.

  • Very beautiful indeed! :) <3

  • Dear friends,I invite you to savour this our one and only Jose Lemos's materpiece where he displays all his great artistry as a perfect CT with a smooth like silk and warm and caressing like velvet timber and actor masterly using all his 3 well-deloped registers. He begins with enchanting HIGH notes with haunting quality and shifts to his solid MIDDLE register like in"ventana",gradually adding drama and fantastic LOW notes like in"contigo","ovligacion"and ends it with different colour!Bravissimo!

  • Yana,muy lindo!!!FElicitaciones

  • @hugobearpiano Dear Hugo, my pleasure:-). I guess these "Felicitaciones" still go to Jose Lemos, otherwise it would be muy linda:-). And please don't forget to share your new videos with me when you have any. I like very much your artistry:-)

  • Very beautiful, emotional singing! Like it so much! Special thanks to Serenaluce.

    Muchas grasias to Jose Lemos.

  • Hello, Yana!

We thank you again for sending us this most stupendous interpretation of José Lemos! Interestingly, his absolute domination of the voice while dipping into the emotions of the character!

A fraternal embrace of friends in Brazil!

    televisual Team

  • @TelevisualFilmes Dear Brazilian friends, you are lucky if you can determine for yourselves which of great Jose Lemos's interpretations is the "most stupendous" as I just can't and like all of his pieces:-)Well, I singled out this song not because it's "La serena" and I'm serenaluce:-),but because EVERYBODY so far has sent me PMs how great this particular song is,and that Lemos is in perfect control of his voice.I also recommend you to listen to Raki',Cuando el Rey Nimrod,Gerineldo,..everything:)

  • @serenaluce

Thank you for sharing, Yana. An exquisite romance with beautiful singing. Thank you, ariodante76.

  • thank you!

  • One of the finest pieces of alto singing I have heard in a while. Lemos is an exquisite artist, He is elegant and passionate at the same time, with great muscal finesse. I am very, very impressed!

  • @EdmundStAustell Absolutely! Jose Lemos is an exquisite artist and should have all the world (well , this part of it with ears and brains and not only the crowd which react to only "big names", what is promoted and fashionable for the moment), should have all the world at his feet! We, fans, with all our support should make the difference and make him more known to as many people as possible first! You could also write an article in your blog about Lemos for your subsribers to discover him:-)

  • Lemos upsets us with his sensual timbre and refined temperament! Thank you ariodante76 for this beauty!.:。 ✿*゚゚・✿.。.:* *.:。✿*゚゚・✿.

  • @AntoniettaChines1222 Yes, we are moved by these exquisite qualities! Thank you for your kind words. :)

  • @AntoniettaChines1222 I guess you wanted to say that Lemos not "upsets" us but IMPRESSES us with his sensual singing with caressing velvet timbre and wonderful artistic temperament, geniune passion, expression of his true, not false emotions in the most refined way:-) Thank you Daniel again for uploading this beauty! I mean the singing first, but also the picture.I don't want to seem narcistic but when I was younger I looked more like this girl and had the same hair colour:-).I'm a redhead:-)

  • Thank you so much, ariodante e serenaluce both, for this calid and beauteous piece in which Lemos shines so brightly. Singular and moving.

  • @FRAGIORGIO1 This is the first track on the CD, and it's gorgeous and haunting. Thanks, Fragiorgio1, for your warm words.

  • Superb : I love these Sephardic songs. They speak immediately to my heart - there is a sense of longing, a touch of mystery and an Oriental magnetism in the music, the text... and the excellent way José Lemos manages the performance. This is a song to treasure. Straight to my favourites! Thanks so much!

  • @fourmy1060 Yes, starting with the wooden flute at the beginning, it transports me to another space and time! Your vivid description is truly apt!

  • @fourmy1060 I envy you both in the positive meaning of this word that you and ariodante76 as very sophisticated intelligent and knowledgeable men can describe Jose Lemos's voice and this "Oriental magnetism" which "transports me to another space and time" too better than I can describe what I feel as a sophisticated enough person but only an emotional WOMAN:-)Still, sophisticated men can write better:-).And nobody on YT has your CLASS! suoidolem is right!:-)5 stars to both of you for comments:-)

  • Hi What a truly wonderful & beautiful performance, this is simply magnificent. Thank you so much for posting & serenaluce for sharing.

  • @socrates640 I will post more videos from this very vibrant, beautiful album. I thank you so much for your praise, and magnificent is the right word...

  • This is such a beautiful song, and i agree it is awesome - the intensity & expression of emotions, the subtlety .. to be honest, not normally qualities associated with CTs! Of course it's a different style from baroque but i think many could learn from this passionate, more intense presentation .. I don't believe that legato, "bel canto" singing needs to be cold and emotionless - not at all. I think people have always wanted to be moved by music, whatever the taste of the time happened to be :)

  • @PrimaRagazza I couldn't agree more with you here:-). Actually Sephardic songs is new music for me. I discovered it for myself only because of Jose Lemos and was just stunned by its beauty! The language of music is universal and has no nationality:-). If you haven't listened to Lemos's Durme, durme on YT I recommend it to you. I'm also looking forward to new uploads from this CD like my favourite Cuando el Rey Nimrod,Noches, Esterica Sarfati, Ya me cansi', everything:-).Nani, nani is stunning!:)

  • @serenaluce Sephardic songs are new for me too. It's amazing music, thanks for introducing it to me. Gorgeous singing too!

  • @PrimaRagazza I think that each artist has their strengths, and sometimes I do like seamless legato, tonal beauty, for example that of Scholl. However, there is something about Lemos that gets under my skin, with this repertoire... it's like a warm, loving caress...

  • @ariodante76 Dear friend, I couldn't express it better than you! Andreas Scholl is stunning in some pieces of Sacred music and I admire him too. It's not that he is worse but for me Lemos is better:-). His voice is really a warm, loving caress...

  • @ariodante76 exactly! couldn't have put it better :)

  • I meant "dear friends" addressing to everybody who will listen to this wonderful video:-). If you really like awesome Jose Lemos please don't be shy to rate and comment:-). The beauty of YT is that we can now exchange opinions which is very interesting and we even can see better each other's point of view even if we have different tastes:-). But it's great as if everybody liked the same this world would be a very boring place to live in:-). As our dear friend fourmy says:"Viva la musica!":-)

  • @serenaluce That was quite stunning and moving. It was engaging from the very beginning. Thank you my friend for sending move over to listen. Good way to start my morning!

  • Out at sea there is a tower, And in the tower there is a window, And in the window there is a dove, Who calls the sailors. Give me your hand little dove, I'll climb your nest, It's unfortunate that you sleep alone. I will sleep with you. This mermaid is crazy, She wants me to love her, Her husband should love her, It's his duty. Dear friend, hope you'll appreciate more now this beautiful, sensual and actually very sad song, and how Lemos skillfully expresses all the emotions in text.
  • Here are the lyrics of this beautiful and emotional, sensual song.
  • Stunning! Awesome!Such a beautiful song and so beautiful and emotionally sung! Bravissimo Lemos! Listen how he changes his voice from the very lyrical beginning adding real passion in the end using his magical LOW notes expressing all range of HUMAN MALE emotions, not just producing lovely sweet sounds chirping like a bird! He has a very warm MASCULAR voice which is very distinct and shares his TRUE emotions, opens his soul for the people who can appreciate it and doesn't show off himself. Thanks
