Looking for a clip of Gary Jack's covering tackle on Eric Grothe. Grothe a kick off and broke free of two Tigers at full speed down the left sideline at Paramatta Stadium. It looked a try for all money until Jack, who had the angle, came across in cover delivered the best text book cover tackle ever. Just hoping someone out there may have it. Cheers.
wayne pearce was a true great. I think Ellery Hanley played for balmain (dont know the year) and am trying to find out if gary prohm ever played for the tigers?
Hello RockPot0812. I can't remember where I got the theme song from but I've got an MP3 version of it if you want me to post it. Or you can just download my vid and extract the theme from it using 'Super' or some other free app.
Totally agree. I started following the Tigers in 1966, went to the GF at the SCG in 69 and watched us bury Souths..... it just ain't the same with that "Wests" in the name.
Thanks ChomFa. Yeah, I started following them in 1960 I think. You're lucky, I couldn't get to the '69 GF so I had to listen to the game on my "tranny". I was at the SCG in '66 though when Saints beat us - crap!!

It was 88 and he was knocked out by Terry Lamb in the grand final.

@gerrytel Ellery came back for Balmain in the mid-90's too. He was nearly 40, but still a class above.

Mate, I reckon your dad would have liked this. I think he'd be happy to know you continue to think about him too.
I can understand why he talked about Wayne Pearce and Garry Jack - they're legends. Bet your dad is too :)

@hatefulchaos Bet your dad was happy when Garry Jack got the shit kicked out of him by Ian Roberts!

So good to see the Balmain Tigers as they were. I've tried to be a Wests Tigers fan but I just can't. It's nothing like the old mighty Balmain days.
I really miss those Sunday arvo's down at Leichhardt.

Great comment, CameraLeft thank you. Don't give up on Wests Tigers though - they're in your blood you know.
Sunday afternoon at Leichhardt Oval watching Balmain play was FANTASTIC !!!~!!!
We used to get down to either the Drummoyne Rowing Club or the Habberfield Rowers after the games.
