I remember visiting a beach south of Gold Beach with a friend, where they were having a wind surfing contest. The sand was black, volcanic ash-like, that stung my eyes. After living on the south shore of Lake Ontario most of my life the sound and fury of this part of the world was startling! I miss this beach and mostly I miss my friend. I hope she thinks the same way. Thanks for posting.
