  • When i put the new bridge pin it stucked...

  • It's funny 'cos I tried taking out the bridge pins, and they were so securely in, my fingers bled. Then the pins broke.

  • @GreyTalloN the safest way to get out stuck pins is....(1).take a quarter and press it hard on the pin end from the "inside of the guitar" while you try pulling the top of the pin with your fingers....or.....(2).tap it out from the inside with a silverware spoon or knife handle....the pin may fly into the air but it will work

  • what a fucking retard video , ive never used a guitar and i would work this one out

  • are you fucking kidding me!!!!!! I have had one of those string winder thingies for soooooo long, and was wondering how to pull those damn pins out. Just to find out, that damn cutout is exactly for that... SON OF A BITCH!! Before i had to reach into the sound hole, find the hole with my fingers and try to feed it through......this just made my life a whole lot easier.

  • One at a time duffas

  • that dude must be pretty bloody strong if he can pull the bridge pins out with his fingers!!

  • I'm really mad because my string broke. What do I do? Can you buy individuals? I'm pissed

    Help!

  • @KIDxFROMxTHExFUTURE yea go buy the string that broke adn restring it

  • how do I know that my strings needs to be changed ?? the g string on my guitar making an awkward voice, thou i bought my guitar 5 days ago :(

  • @TamiRatlick well if your a beginner changing it every 1-2 months is best. If you use it real often, every couple of weeks works just fine. Also dont listen 2 this video. Guitar needs lots of tension. Its bad to take all strings off at once. take off one or two strings at a time.

  • @Ceigee you know there's a time in a guitar's life where it doesn't have strings on. This "it's bad to take all strings off at once" is nonsense. Guitars have a natural flex range, taking them all off does no harm whatsoever... over tightening may cause problems though. all guitars are perfectly happy with no strings on.

  • @TamiRatlick LOL G string :P

  • @Ceigee yeah i loled when wrote that too :)

  • hope this person doesn't drink before making video

  • Sorry for chiming in on all the hating, but...This video doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I'm searching for a video on removing the pins because I can't pull them out with my hand, and I don't have a fancy tool that does it.

  • @AleifrLeifrson use any lever sort of thing like the handling side of spoon

  • @AleifrLeifrson

First of all I won't recommend doing like he does in this video. He removes all the strings in one time and that is not healthy for the guitar since it has a lot of tension. You always remove one string at a time before putting on a new one.

The fancy tool can be bought in almost any guitar shop. Looks like it's a 5 $ 'Jim Dunlop' stringwinder.

  • @6tryphon6 wrong... taking all the strings off at once is fine. All it does is allow the guitar to relax to it's natural state where there's no stress on the guitar at all. The only thing that's bad for a guitar is over tightening the strings and putting too much stress on it..

  • @11thhourreprieve You are correct -- Kind of. A guitar is built to withstand the tension of the strings. That is it's true "natural state," if there is such a thing. You would not want to take all the strings off a guitar and store the instrument. However, taking the strings off for a short period of time, such as changing the strings, is not going to cause any problems.

  • @mrhappy145 There's no "kind of" about it. Natural state is without stress or tension. Stored guitars are generally severely detuned often for months or years before they are bought by an owner /player. Putting a guitar under string load is not it's natural state but as you say it's designed to withstand string load. The majority of new acoustics need setting up, this means slackening strings right back to remove the bridge for shaping and also nut filing.

  • Did they shoot this dude with horse tranquilizers before filming this?

  • pleaseee speak faster !!!!!!!!!!!

  • And if the damn guitar doesn't have those black things !

  • excuse me i have the same blue les paul thats in the backround thru your vid.do you have any info you could give me leave a coment on my account if you do

  • can any body tell me how to play im in love by colby o donis

    im begging you please!

  • usefull vid, but it didnt need to be that long, and the dude was slow and boring (Y)

  • well my bridge pins dont fucking come out that easy, even when losend the fucking strings, bitch!

  • Wow the guitar tuning windy uppy thingy should only appeal to women with long nails who cant pinch the pins out, otherwise its just for lazy people who havent got the strength to use his/her thums. And I could have shown how to re string without a billion videos. Good and usefull though, Nice 1 expert village

  • Who the FUCK! are you supposed to use ur hands...its a fucking pain in the ass!!!

  • This type of thing does not need an ENTIRE SERIES OF VIDEOS .

  • @MisterBankz

watch the mahalodotcom video........it shows you every thing in ONE VIDEO NOT SERIES

  • do u teach guitar playing

  • @tabithamanaois You can use some other material besides your hands... I used a coin one time.

  • the bridge can be made out of bone? WTH?

  • @ImPersianMeow only if you have an expensive piece of shit on your on hands...

  • @ImPersianMeow he was talking about the bridge pins and yes things can be made of bone

  • Thumbs up if Expert Village is FUCKING STUPID!

  • i couldnt get it out, so i tried using pliers and it damaged the pin. i cant get it to come out by hand and i dont want to buy a tool for it.

  • mine wont go out that easily. i do need tools unfortunately

  • @olmo2603 well u have some options now. use a scissor and use the V shape press them against the pin/plugg wathever and put ur fingers too the scissors edge and lift the pin up.(may damage the pin or the bridgepan, not if u do it right ofcourse) Or buy a tool:).

  • My bridge pins don't pull out... )=

  • @iPaoProductions mine either! :( HELP

  • @KILLAKUSH93

Mine were just stuck in tight.

If you can't pull them out try to get your hand in the guitar and push them out.

Thats what I did. :P (Yes you might have to push REALLY hard)

  • @iPaoProductions yeah i eventually got bored with trying to find a way so I used a screwdriver lol. Works well, but getting the pegs to stay in after sucks.

  • @iPaoProductions if you have a string winder, theres a grove on the end of the winder part to pull the pegs out

  • you should not change all your strings at once, replace one string at a time , it will put less stress on your neck

  • Um. What if you dont have pins at the bottom. What if it's kinda just attatched to the bottom of the bridge with this weird looking thingo..

  • so it's a classical guitar, check for classical guitar tutorial

  • what if you cant just pull out the bridge?????

  • i have a hanez guitar or some shit like that but my uncle gave it to me idk if its a crappy brand its black and the strings sound so weird when there tuned it sounds like a bass and one of the little circle thingys at the bottom the little ball pins that hold the strings in its broken what shud i do and is my guitar suck balls? new strings??

  • as a pro-busker guitar player

I have used a broken off pencil or chopstick

in a pinch, when a bridge pin snaps off!

NOTE: get inside the sound hole with a pointed object and force out old pin...

    you won't see it?

    You gotta feel it!

    ~eff~

  • i haven't changed my stirngs in 5 to 7 years and i dan't know how to change them at all

  • Usually when they get black "gunk" on them it's time for a change. You can sorta like run your finger nail along the string and if theres dark tar on your finger afterwards, you should change 'em.

  • can i replace the white saddle?

  • thanks this helped alot.

i cant pull out the pins. and i was thinking of using plyers. would this damage my guitar?

    im not sure

  • This it will. Please dont try using a plyer, because this can damage the pin, and the pin can crush. The guy at guitar center said dont use plyers. You can buy a string winder for like 2 dollars...

  • ohh okay :D

besides i already took out my string and put in a new one. i m so proud.

  • thats very helpful, can you please tell how to lower the distance of the strings from the freight board....

  • My guitar doesnt have bridge pins

  • well then that makes it much easier for you

  • my bridge pins dont com out just by pulling on it

  • mines wouldnt budge for anything! but then some guy gave me advice and told me to carefully use a spoon and it worked like a charm

  • @4neverandafter thank you soo much. mine wouldnt budge either and i tried everything i read but then once i tried the spoon it worked soo easily. thank you.

  • @helllloimlindsay lolol the spoon. did it damage the pin?

  • @BigCanOfBeans surprisingly no. it worked perfectly. i tried everything else for like an hour but then when i tried the spoon it worked perfectly the first time. thank goodness. i was getting so frustrated.

  • @helllloimlindsay yeah I tried it last night. worked a charm! all I need now is a new string...

  • @BigCanOfBeans well that shouldnt be too hard to find. its kind of a pain restringing it though. well for me it was especially since thats the first time i had ever tried. good luck! (:

  • @Zeeploox thx that worked lol

  • ok i get it but my things wont come out ! the round ones

  • i want that pickguard

  • GO HOME AND DRINK YOUR PRUNE jUICE!

  • eres un hijo de eouta

  • that just broke the new string man...now what an i supposed to do?

  • you supposed to quit being such a fucking failure.

  • Very helpful. I didn't realize my string winding thingy had that handy little slot for lifting the pegs out. Thanks! Have an awesome and hyper-musical august!

  • wont removing all the strings at once change the tension on the neck ?

  • some people say its a myth, but still, i loosen one at a time

  • its good to remove it all... so I can clean the fretboard and the whole body easily...

the tension is not just on the neck... its actually on top of the body... And sometimes if you won't play your guitar for a long time, its good to loosen all the string to avoit bending of the neck...

So the tension is not good for the neck for a long time... Np to remove all the strings...

  • hmm. it seems like everyone is divided on their opnions on this subject.

  • it can. you should usually just change one string at a time unless you already have to or know how to adjust the truss rod in the neck.

  • umm, how do you remove a string // change from a first act guitar ???

i got so pissed at it, because the strings are sounding so crappy, but then i can't change it. so then i bought a new guitar :\

but still ... it seems like a waste to not change the strings on it ... help, please ?

  • first act instruments are a peice of shit.

  • @bunburyZ got that right!

  • @bunburyZ I learned on a first act and it sounded like crap but its worth it in the end since it will sound so much better once you get a REAL guitar!! and that guitar he is re stringing looks like a taylor?

  • @bunburyZ I would agree, however I'm 99 percent sure that's a Taylor acoustic. Not a piece of shit

  • @mrhappy145 The student line of taylors are nothing but problems constant neck problems and they secure the neck to the body with only "two screws"

  • dude the string i bought doesn't have a string bead.. wtf?

  • gg lol

  • Did you buy nylon strings or steel strings?

  • nylon.. why? sorry but i'm noob.

  • Nylon strings does not have a bead. You have to tie a knot. It also depends on what kind of guitar you have.

  • Thanks so much

  • i got an first act acoustic guitar, it has bridge pins, and they are hard to remove

  • like how do u get them out?? i cant seem to get them out?

  • i use some pliers to remove them

  • OMG i cant believe i never thought of that XD thanks man

  • I cant get mine out o matter what im basically ruining my bridge trying...and im going on the plane tomorow with it..Goddamn whys this so hard! he just pulled it so effortlessly!

  • My guitar isn't with pegs.Down on the bridge are some kind of knots

  • i think theres somethin on the back of it my friend has a guitar like that and he got all pissed off cuz he couldnt change the strings

  • I wonder if you have a nylon string guitar then? Those require totally different strings

  • Comment removed

  • man, you should never, NEVER, I mean, never, remove all your guitar strings at once. Remove one, tune it, and just then remove another one...

But hey, if you want to fuck your guitar, go ahead! Feel free and be my guest =D

  • Acaspin is quite right .... NEVER remove all strings at once unless you have to (eg: if you want to use lemon oil or something similar to refurbish your fretboard). It can be a really quick way to screw your neck if the string tension is suddenly removed.

  • dude, this guys voice...

  • ye lol, makes me wanna kill him, and expert village is full of douchebags

  • My guitar doesn't use pins, what do I do?

  • JUST JACK OFF!

  • Aren't you a funny one?

  • haha yeah sometimes i try

  • lol that was hilarious lol

  • If your guitar does use pins, it's probably a Breedlove or a LAG because they have pinless bridges.

  • Oops - I meant If your guitar DOESN'T use pins, it's probably a Breedlove or a LAG because they have pinless bridges.

  • @AlanSturgess I think ovation guitars don't use the pins either.

  • Dammit my acoustic guitar dont use pins and i cant find another vid without pins

  • Anyone having touble removing pins, i'll tell you what i just did haha. I stook the strings off the pegs (now the only thing holding them in is the bridge pin) i wraped a shirt around my hand, then i grabbed the string with the shirt around my hand and i pulled, i got the pin loose enough to wiggle it out. If you guys wanna try it just be careful, the strings can fuck your hand up pretty bad, thats why i wrapped my hand in a shirt.

  • my pins are kinda tight and i dont have a string winder can anyone tell me is it safe to use a cloth and plyers

  • Never, NEVER remove all strings at the same time! It will cause the neck of the guitar to bend, since the strings are holding it down/out from the guitar. Never take more then 1 string out at a time.

  • psh i do what i want

  • My pins DO NOT come out when I pull... help?! where can I get one of those things he used to pull them out?

  • i just put a simple cotton cloth on my finger put my hand in the sound hole and press up on the bridge pins. usually comes out fairly easy

  • mine's not coming out!

  • doesn't work quiet well with an electric guitar :D

  • Hey man I tried the teaspoon thing and when I stuck it under the pin the plastic kinda started to break.

  • Hey - I didn't know that you can pry the pins with the string winder. Thanks!

  • thanks for the tip! it works after much pushing because i think my friend's guitar strings haven't been changed in years. and so the pins are kinda stuck.

  • what if my bridge pins are stuck?

    ...can they be?

    ...mine are.

    ...i think?

  • me too!????

  • thanks! =]

  • thanks dude
