  • I lost my father ...

even though I'm only 16 I feel really shit

since it is only few weeks ago and

has reminded me of that song and the movie: (

  • This is the most mighty scene in history! No movie can top this scene! Titanic, Saving private Ryan, Forrest Gump, Avatar and all Disney movies does not have the mucis, mood and epicness that this has! I LOVE IT!

  • this conjures up all sorts of memories from the past. makes me think about life and how quickly it's going by. i'll never be able to revisit my childhood, but i can still relive those moments through this music. thank you hans zimmer for producing such a masterpiece.

  • Hans Zimmer really went all out. Bravo, man.

  • I LOVE YOU HANS ZIMMER

  • *Bursts into tears*

  • Wow,i love this so much.Even though I'm a teenager now,i still remeber the whole movie. And i honestly have to say,I cried in the movie, and I still cry now by just hearing this. It's so beautiful and it brings up so many childhood memories.I love the Lion King <3

  • When does this song actually play in the movie?

  • so many memories

  • I want Mufasa to be my dad. Strong, brave, impressive, smart, tough, honnest, fatherly and king.

  • @teny04 and hot !! ;) :D

  • Sparks going down through my spine when I hear this song. Sad and beauty merge together and bring us this amazing piece of art.

  • this song made me cry

  • at 0:41 the way the music changes is perfect.

  • beautiful. just beautiful.

  • zimmer is a genius!

  • aww best ever x333

  • i love this part so much

everytime when i see this scene i cry, it reminds me of my dad, i miss him so much!

  • Kids : Disney, you have forgotten us..

    Disney : No, how could i ?

Kids : You have forgotten who you are, and so forgotten us, look inside yourself disney, you are more than what you have become. You must take your place in the Circle Of Life.

Disney : How can i go back? I'm not who i used to be...

Kids : Remember who you are, you are our son, and the one true king. Remember who you are.

Disney : No please don't leave me !

    Kids : remember, remember, remember

  • @PulseOfTheAwakening My God, it really fits them (Disney I mean) !

  • I will do anything to get just ONE more movie like this from Disney.

  • this song always gives me goosebumps(:

  • Top Disney Movies with excellent soundtracks-> The Lion King, Hook->(With Robin Williams), Pirates of the Carribean, Angels in the Outfield, Benji the Hunted<-(This one was Truly Amazing) Balto, ... .. ... lol I can't think of anymore... but they are all extremely EPIC!

  • What I love about The Lion King's soundtrack is that even the very songs without lyrics convey a warm, touching message that inspires you in some way. That's what I love (and still love) about the movie <3

  • Walt Disney: Mickey!

    Mickey Mouse: Walt?

Disney: Mickey, you have forgotten me.

    Mickey: No, How could I...

Disney: You have forgotten who you are and so have forgotten me. Look inside yourself, Mickey. You are much more than what you have become. You must take your place in the great Walt Disney Company.

Mickey: How can I go back? Things aren't what it used to be...

Disney: Remember who you are. You are my creation, and the one true king! Remember who you are...

  • esas personas que pusieron negativo no tienen vida y no saben que es el sufrimiento pues nomas viven su vida sin amar.

  • this song nd film makes me nd ma big sister cry. :'( xxxx

  • You know what, I'm practically in tears over this song, and there are 8 people who have the soul of Scar. That's sad.

  • hans zimmer is a musical genius.

  • I just got major goosebumps like no other. This song is amazing!

  • this song is fucking beautiful

  • I think Tarzan has the best music but Lion King is second for sure

  • 1:11

  • i think this was probably one of the best movies disney has made when i was younger

  • from 0:43 to the rest of the song I just get chills... I love this music :D

  • I heard a rumor, that the Lion King has some ww2 aspect. O: like scar and his soldiers. all because, walt disney was a nazi or something like that :/

    True? :/

  • @KibaXhan the part where the hyenas are all marching and saluting to scar and stuff was probably inspired by the nazis but i doubt that had anything to do with walt disney himself.

  • @KageKevSama i was watching that with sis on youtube a week ago and since im older now thats first thing i thought of, i paused movie and searched on anoter youtube tab, Hitler salute march...and it was the exact same lol....but not coming to conclusions like you didnt

  • Just hearing the somber sound makes me well up...Just goes to show that Lion King is one of the greats. ^^;

  • if you pause at 1:07, you can see micky mouse in the stars. i noticed it while watching my copy of the movie. its a little hard to spot on this quality, but if you look close enough you can see it.

  • 40-56 pure genuis

  • This instrumental is like a hymn to environmental sustainability and conservation. It's so beautiful!

  • This theme somehow reminds me of the story of King David from the bible..... and ending part is when King David comes out from the wilderness to claim Israel as his own. :))

  • @jakasama

    Ooh, interesting.

Oddly enough, it reminded me of Ester, the part where she decides that if she must perish to save her people, she will go before the king and face her death regardless.

  • I have the same philosphy as Mufasa. I too believe when you lost someone, they become a star embedded in the night sky. I see my grandmother glow everynight :)

  • @ateezy2009 to me Mufasa will always be the real King of pride rock

  • Sorry to break the idea here, but even though you put a 'disclaimer' at the song, it is officially still illegal to upload it again even if you bought the song. Well I am not asking you to remove it, that is up to the rightful owner, but I just wanted to share it, in case you did not know. 1/1/11 Happy New year :-)

  • Wow disney really put down their soul in these old movies, espicially The lion king. Not ONLY to make money, as too many things are about. Man I get so emotional when hear this song and watch this movie. Even tho I'm a 18 yrs old guy...

  • This stuff always make me cry. Crap.

  • I have to say Hans Zimmer is a genius. The music he writes is so powerful and emotional it's hard for me to fathom what must go on inside of his head.

  • One inspiring tune

  • these like this and spirit away are magic that will stay in memory for ever small scene like this make this movie magic that is the reason why is consider to the king of animated movies 3d is bull crap old classics movies can never beaten in opinion

  • Every song on this soundtrack gives me goosebumps

  • the soundtrack for Lion King was nothing short of PERFECT

  • some things about disney and this film:

    1. Best disney animation movie ever. why?

this movie has a great story, good music, lots of beautifull symbolic elements, and some of the scenes are just amazing.

the scene that he runs away and raffiki (or how ever you spell it) and he takes him to the little pool and he can see his father, it is just amazing

    love to Lion King (L)

ps. sorry for any mistakes in spelling, I'm dutch

  • Thanks for taking the time to make this =)

  • the other 8 people probably dislike lions.

  • this has always made me think of my dad and it makes me miss him and i wish he was still with us

  • i can say nothing........

only that 8 people missed the like button........

  • every1 i s saying llok at those special effects that film is the best

in my opinion the film u loved in ur childhood is the best

  • Ehh, The Lion King is a good film, but personally (and pleaes don't respond with hate messages) but I think it's over rated. I think Beauty and the Beast is the best Disney. Maybe I'll watch The Lion King in the future and realise that it is one of the best films ever, I don't know

  • This song makes me think about universe, and god and love and if i shall follow my dreams or not..

This is the feeling a real disney move should give you.

  • @MonaTheBellydancer and are you going to follow those dreams of yours?

  • @AgentVinegar

You have no idea how much I want. I've learned that you have to protect your dreams because people have failed in their dreams and will tell to others that they cant follow their own. But dreams are the ones that I think is the goal for us in life to follow it. Go on a hike in the mountains. Runs on a green meadow. And then there are some dreams that no one can give their support. Can I do it alone and fight my way through this, even if it means I losing a lot?

  • @MonaTheBellydancer theres no such thing as god

  • @lionsexlover

Because you lost yourself as kid doesnt mean u have to take your pain on others.

Feel sorry for you really, not in a bad way :) hope u find yourself

  • @MonaTheBellydancer well if he does why is there war answer tht

  • @lionsexlover

Because the human has a free will my dear

  • @MonaTheBellydancer theres the only things in th bible tht happened were the roman invaitions the ancient egyptions and the dinosaurs everything else including tht jesus bloke was and always will be a myth thts all

  • @MonaTheBellydancer

i couldnt have said it any better myself.

    but im gonna try anyway.

i used to ive in one of the most magical places on earth, and each night, i would go out into the forest alone with my speakers and play this song. And you know what, I was about 14 at the time and you'll never guess who came to me. the guy that im going to marry. he was walking through the forest as well and he was about 15 or 16 and we stayed out there all night....pure magic.

  • @Smallville357

I could not believe what i am reading right now. You sound like me..

I am so happy for you. This sound like faith in my ears.. I would love to know more what happened with you. Really i am so happy for you. It sounds like pure magic..

  • @MonaTheBellydancer Powerful what u just said :)

  • @MonaTheBellydancer this is not disney.. this is Hans Zimmer.. a genious

  • @MonaTheBellydancer it reminds me of disneyworld. This song always sends a happy thought :)

  • This video is one of the most amazing videos I've ever seen.

    Ohhh what a movie :')

  • AgentVinegar thank you for the video, excelento theme, excelent movie

  • @judoboy001 Haha, don't be thanking me. Thank The animators and composes and team that worked their fingers to the bone for this ;p

  • @AgentVinegar i just wish they would make more movies like this this one is sure a classic in my childhood im 20 now crazy how time flies i guess like mufasa said is the circle of life

  • @AgentVinegar haha a tear rolled down my eye just now when i read this comment lol purely because your right i was 6 when this movie was released and i'll never forget it!

  • ta spaei.....

  • to soundtrack ta spaei..... apla.....

  • Lion King is easily Disney's best cartoon. Only "Finding Nemo" comes close to it in terms of excellence although I still have yet to see "Toy Story 3"

This soundtrack brings back lots of old memories. I watched this cartoon at release and this soundtrack always makes my skin erupt in goosebumps :)

  • I love the ending of this song (L)

  • 8 people don't know what true movies are. Seriously, who hates on the Lion King or its songs?

  • Love the fact that I was growing up in the 90s when all the amazing disney films were being released. Unlike the shit that gets brought out now.

  • This is a good example that we should use, to the maximum, every moment of our lives, to not feel regret later, just nostalgia.

  • what can i say.. Hans zimmer and disney is a great match

  • Lol 1:12 He looks like hes on drugs.

  • my cat is called simba, and that funny to see him jump like simba does in the lion king

  • The Lion King= Best film ever

  • *'__*

    a really wonderful job, congratulations!

  • i called my hamster simba such a great and powerful name to name an animal.

  • -Pai

    -hmm?

    -Somos amigos não é?

    -É claro.

-E para sempre estaremos juntos, não é?

-SImba, olhe as estrelas.Todos os reis do passado estão lá, e um dia eu também estarei...

  • I cried when I saw this video, the lion king is the best film ever

  • This film is a classic. I love this film. Disney certainly does not make movies like this anymore. The films that are out now are not anywhere near as good as the Lion King. I always cry when I hear this score. The Lion King is the best Disney soundtrack

  • After reading the comments on this video, I'm so happy that I'm not alone where crying part is concerned. It just goes to show what high standards disney used to have while making movies.

  • One thing nobody can deny, is that Lion King certainly has the best soundtrack disney ever did.

  • @MrBigGuy1989 Hans Zimmer does compose the best soundtracks... :)

  • @MrBigGuy1989 well,if a movie has Hans Zimmer to create the music, then the movie becomes epic....

  • @MrBigGuy1989 Thats because Hans Zimmer was involved :P

  • @xXShizzieXx and elton john

  • There's not one time that I didn't burst out crying like a little baby listening to this song.

    Not once.

  • This film is classic! I Absolutely love this film! They really dont make them like they use to anymore, the films they come out wiv now, aren't anywhere near as good as this.. :)

  • :( i always cry when i hear this but love this film so much gonna have a simba and mufasa tattoo done soon :) <3

  • I call my dog Simba too

    I love lion king <3

  • i buried my grandmomma with this song

  • I am the only one who cries when I hear this song? ㅠㅠ

  • @TheRachmaninoffFan no,i cry too when i hear this song ç_ç...it's fantastic...commovent...i love it <3

  • By the way, for those who are complaining about Disney relying on things like Hannah Montanna, Jonas Brothers, etc...

Keep in mind they've always done this. ie) Mickey Mouse Club with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake...lol...

  • Hey Disney This is the stuff we want to see not that "better" bs u are coming out with FIX IT !!!

  • You know, when you think about it...

A lot of the old Disney Movies are just based on old existing stories/tales.

    ie) Lion King -> Hamlet

So for those who crediting Disney....meh?

  • @keetner so bringing a masterpiece of classic literature to children is "meh"?

you are a disgrace to humanity.

  • @nero91 "Disgrace to humanity"? Come now, that might be a LITTLE harsh.

Not that I disagree with you, but I can see where keetner is coming from. I personally cringed after I learned what REALLY happened in "Notre Dame de Paris" by Victor Hugo. While "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was fine on its own, simply as a movie, it completely defeated the premise of the novel (and I doubt that M. Hugo would be properly compensated by naming the COMIC RELIEF after him).

  • @OkamiGohan On the other hand, this might cause people to become interested in where the origins of these stories came from, and give those artists their proper respects. I was surprised when I started looking at everything I grew up thinking was purely "Disney"... (i.e. Sleeping Beauty, The Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, Aladdin, I could go on for a long time).

  • @OkamiGohan Now, don't take me wrong, I do thoroughly enjoy a good ol' Disney classic, but if you are going to praise Disney, do it for nothing more than their adaption and presentation of the story, and how they manage to appeal to kids while still keeping the adults interested by cleverly place bits of older humour. They are a talented bunch, just not in screenplay writing.

...and keep Disney away from sequels.

  • @OkamiGohan

I never said that it was superior or even equal to the orginial hamlet.

But it is a great thing that, through this medium, the message and values of Hamlet are passed onto children and might get them interested in classic literature.

We could use more of that nowadays.

  • @nero91 I agree. Just be sure to be a little nicer to those with opinions that differe from yours. Have a good one.

  • @nero91

Lol sorry, but no. That's hardly the case at all. Do I appreciate and respect what they do? Yes. I never said I didn't, so I don't know where you're pulling that information from.

As Okami put it, I just don't believe Disney should be credited so heavily for their story lines, as majority of them are just based on other tales. People often go on saying how brilliant, beautiful, or amazing! a story is, but often fail to realize it's from elsewhere. Simple as that.

  • @keetner and you've only just noticed that? well, okay in the original it was hard to tell, but when the second was obviously romeo and juliet...

  • @ShadowHammer321

Nah, I knew Lion King was Shakespeare related once I actually studied his works/knew about them. Or that other Disney movies -> old tales.

Disney losing that bit of 'magic' - perhaps, but how many movies have been directly made by Disney? So excluding Pixar. Something to consider I suppose.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Disney is planning on whipping up a few 'classic' movies in the future. I don't know if they'll have the hand drawn look or if they'll be computer animated. Hm.

  • hat schonmla jemand drüber nachgedacht das als Wm lied zu benutzen? erinnert mich total an fußball also das lied ..nicht die bilder !...??:-D

  • Disney had their good movies.. now they suck too much .. too much ... would like to see other movies like this one .

  • Im naming my next pet Mufassa(:

  • @Wildcat272 ya just make sure his evil brother doesnt push him off a cliff to a ground full of crazy running wildebeests ... :D

  • this song always brought a tear to my eye

  • Wow...I've seen the movie too many times. As I watched this clip, I could almost hear both of their voices as they spoke XD

Disney should make more memorable movies like this. Their new stuff is getting worse and worse with each movie.

  • oh man.. this post (and attached comments) are proof that music does unit mankind.. i have never seen such kind behavior on a youtube video... so thank you everyone for the kind words and not ruining this post.

  • @jrade56 does it unit them? or does it unite them? lol

  • @BlinkinFirefly yeah... that second one.. that's what it does. hahaha oh man..

  • @jrade56 hehe =P

  • I dont mind having this song in my funeral because is one of the best song from the movie and the best movie of all time

  • liong king was my first movie..it was a present from my godmother..i new everything they speak before they say it..i love mufasa so much..he is best..

  • this is so sad ;(

  • DIsney, really. What happened? I agree. Bring back these teams, bring back these writers, this focus, this dedication to the art of visual and music. I love Pixar but wow... did you really have to crucify what Walt created? I tell my nephews "Back when Disney made them like this..."

  • There's the disney magic that I once knew... They need more movies like this one!

  • If you ask me Disney was great up until about 2005, but that's my opinion there are a couple acceptions to what i am saying i think that Up was a fantastic and the Pirates of the Caribbean haven't been a pain for me yet so i think if Disney drops some of the lame things there doing and goes back to animating movies with actual "themes" like the other ones they can get ratings back cause i mean who can tell me they didn't learn anything from the older movies that Disney made?

  • this is my favorite song from the whole mvoie, even over circle of life and can you feel the love tonight. because this song is so powerful, and i loved simba and mufasa's relationship. mufasa just seems like the best dad there could ever be. and i love the scene at the end where simba defeats scar and he roars to the lions and they all roar back. soo powerful.

  • i miss the classics!! stupid hanna montana n HSM- they r shit compared 2 this! Disney needs 2 go back 2 the speakin animals n magical characters!!! The Lion King is the best EVER!!!! my favourite by far!!

  • I never realized how much the first 30 seconds sounds like "Can You Feel The Love Tonight"...

  • Thank you for make me cry...

  • This music still gives me chills. It's so sad, but still beautiful. Especially the end.

  • You know you've seen Lion King too much when you can read their lips lol

  • @Y0sh33zy omg!! thats so true...i do it all the time with this classic!! lol

  • Ahhh I love this ;D

  • very sad and EPic movie! Very emotional music as well!

  • they really don't make films like this anymore :(

  • this is the most beautiful song in the whole film! anyone know what it's played on?

  • So sad.. and very beautiful! When i hear this song i always want to cry. I really love it. I think this is the best disney film! :)

  • seriously, this is so EPIC I'm completely SHIVERING every freakin' second! How does Disney do it? I think they still can, they're just tired or something, I haven't seen Pincess and the Frog, but it might be something, but I think it looks to modern and disney channel-like.

But I think they still can, if the yjust put down as much effort like they did back in these days!

  • @ mask110 Your comment rekindled my hope for Disney. I believe they can come back, if only we whip some sense into them. Thank you for saving my hopes.

    -Shenlung67

  • omg!, No problem! I do have hope for Disney, I can't understand how Disney Channel can continue in this way, everybody hates it! Atleast 90% of us!

So how can they be able to continue with this? I don't know, but I think someday, some beautyful day, they will do a come-back! With a real masterpiece!

    Peace! XD

  • true, my friend

  • oh... very emotional song.. i luv it

  • listen!how can you combine this sad music with mufasa´s deathscene.you're crucial.

  • i am 14 and everytime when i listen that song, i cry. the lion king is definitely the best "thing" in the world, i love it! < 33

    i want to die, listening it .. ; (

  • it's the same for me, only im a 17 year old big guy, who you wouldnt think could cry

  • These are the good things in life

  • I called my dog Simba as I got him in 1994 (when Lion King came out). He died in December 2009. I loved him to bits!

  • @ad1987col I'm so sorry for your loss :( That is sooo sweet!! My family is getting a dog, and I've decided to call him Sirius (from Harry Potter)

    RIP Simba<3

  • @mymindisblanc123 He died of old age. He survived longer that all his brothers and sisters, but still! I miss him!

  • @ad1987col That is understandable.. :( <3 RIP!

  • @ad1987col

I hope you got/get a new puppy because the spirit of your old pets comes back in the new. :-)

  • @ad1987col i got kinda sad reading this comment and listening to the music at the same time. i feel bad for your dog :'(

  • @jkkingsx, he was an old dog! ever stubborn till the end! Unexpected, but he will always be there! I did spend the full day in shock when it happened! He was my dog, the age of 7 proudly walking down my avenue with my new puppy, hard work but worth it!

  • wow what a emotional song...i remember crying when I was a kid when he let go

  • Comment removed
