This looks like an extension of Mario Kart 64. IMO by a landslide the best MK to date. The gamecube and wii versions never seem to come close.

How I wish you could get this on MAME. Until you can or they release this for the consoles ill stick to MK64. Why settle for less just because its newer?

Mario Kart Arcade is not really that fun once you play it a few times, you realize that all the items do the exact same thing(you throw it it slows them down, same animation)

Only thing is the rubberband AI isnt as strong in here.

Does anyone know if/when Nintendo will release Mario Kart 2 for the Wii or are they saving it for the gen. wii console? I heard the ps4 could be released as early as 2012 and that the pres. of Sony said that he thought XBox and Nintendo would rush their nex gen. consoles...but anyways anyone know a good racing game for the wii besides mario kart I have a few already, but other than sonic all-stars (which was okay) nothing comes close to Mario Kart...any suggestions out there? :)

I don't think MAME can do this. But I know for a fact that it's playable on Dolphin. This game was for one of a series of arcade cabinets with games that were collaborations by Namco, Sega, and Nintendo. Other games, like F-Zero AX, were also on this series of cabinets.

@QWERTYCommander yeah I believe the cabinet technology was actually called the Triforce for being a collaboration between the 3 companies. I heard it just runs off a GameCube.

I agree. The courses on this one are more imaginative and it seems that the way it plays is kinda of like the snes days when coins littered the track.I like the wii version but this one is the one I truly desire.

Yeah, we're a bit conservative when it comes to coin-op games in germany or karaoke bars and that stuff. I am from Kiel, a bigger town in NOrth Germany and here is only one bowling center where you can find coin-operated machines (They have 4 different games) but besides that... :(. But hey, you can buy alocohol here with 16 (beer) to 18 (wodka) allready. As a matter of fact: I would love if there would be something else to do instead of drinking or bowling in my city...
