  • This workout is I-N-S-A-N-E!!!!! Some have asked: Does it work? And the answer is HELL YEAH (but only if you do your part). This is not for the weak of heart and mind; this workout is for the true warrior.

  • Comparing P90x to this is 2 different things....Way more cardio in insanity but P90x is much better if you want to do a lot of push ups and pullups...But Insanity is the way to go if you are looking for cardio...If you are looking for athletics I would say Insanity and weight lifting

  • This looks good this, I do a lot of intervals myself, I'm always pissed off when I see these crappy ab things that you do for some ridiculously short period of time every day. The countless hours of training I put in but don't look half as good as the people on some crappy 20 minute a day ab roller bullshit ad saying "all I did was 20 minutes a day" At least Insanity looks like something I can believe in, Does anyone know if you can run on this programme or does that effect the muscle building?

  • @Dragrealpk648 All training's good mate, despite what the creators of your programme say, your body will eventually adapt to it, do the 90 days on that and then if you want later do this as well.

  • hi im a very skinny boy im about 140 lbs, over the past year ive been working out almost every day and i get stronger and not any bigger. But i eat at the same rate as my sister shes about 170. Is this just my metabolism or is there somthing wrong with me?

  • ok for the people who wants to compare p90x to insanity, you can't. Both workouts are great but for different purposes. P90x would give better results in my opinion because there were more tests made for p90x than insanity. However, this mainly depends on one's body and how it works.

    They are both plays on words. Resistance training performs muscle gains (your body cant provide enough resistance for major muscle gains), and these are cardio, which burns fat and light toning (diet is #1 in that). These would be great with a meal plan to highlight muscle you have, but you won't be putting any on like they show in the video.

  • @KneeOfJustice2046 hiit should be 30sprint 60-90 walk. do that 10 to 20 times but dont exceed 45 min, it may lead to catabolism of your muscle tissue

  • @buykrux I know that. I was just commenting on how they misrepresent hiit here. Judging from the graph, it looks like 30 seconds of intense exercise and like 5 minutes of active rest. It just makes hiit look like shit and Insanity look like the king of workouts.

    (But I normally go 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off for about 10 minutes. That's brutal! ;) )

  • i lift weights...its better. trust me. my dad used to make me do stupid bullshit like this. weights works way better. try them. but make sure you know what your doing before you go in there. because regardless of what you've been told, benching isn't the most important thing in the world.

  • @reym613 Don't mislead him you don't really reach plateau in weight if you know how muscle works then you won't, weight lifting is not about repititions it's really about the right weight and the right rest so if you can lift a weight and barely make it to six then that's the weight if you can barely do three then thats too heavy, just keep moving up depends on how big you wanna get.

  • @reym613 just change your workout routine dramatically and that will keep your muscles guessing cuz once it's gotten use to the workout thats when you step it up a bit change the routine and increase the intensity make sure you get the right amount of time to rest cuz that's how your muscles develop

  • @nadertom - I have been a coach for longer than I care to remember. There is a big difference between functional strength and "bench press strength". You need to have flexibility, too. I realize not everyone is athletic or competes...but I have seen kids get injured doing squats, even bench. Weight lifting is tougher on the joints. You can get just as ripped and have "functional" strength doing body weight workouts combined with plyos, agilities, speed training and endurance training.

  • 100 calories per workout? LOL that's shit. I burn at least 400 or more per workout. You're better off going to the gym.

  • Whatever works for people... Diet is a big key to proper weight loss and feeling great. Cardio is another big key... and determination... I see good results in my weight lifting daily(5days) and cardio in between breaks with proper diet... But thats me!

    Everyone is different, so whatever works. P90x is a GREAT workout, this seems like a great workout...and there are tons of others...Just commit!!! Health is were it is at!

  • So here it is, 25 yrs old, 6'1" started out at 207lbs. (physically very avg.) lifetime training exp. - slim to none. decided to get in shape bc i was playing softball and got a triple but was sucking wind for several minutes after running only 180ft. =pathetic!!! either way, i just finished my first four weeks of INSANITY and gotta tell ya ITS WORKING!

  • probably avg. 20-30% improvement on the fit tests and i feel great. I didnt notice much weight loss in first few weeks but now im down to 197. Thats 10 lbs lost and im not even half way done! Very sore muscles (especially calfs) at first but my stamina has gone through the roof from where i started. If you just want to get in great shape I highly recommend this INSANITY program. Workouts are hell but i always feel better 10 min after workout than i did before i started.

  • NUTRITION PLAN! lets be real! I looked at the nutrition plan and read about it and what not. Yeah umm my lifestyle says i love home cooking and I love to eat! Most important thing to me is to eat less food more frequently. Sorry the "Diet" concept just doesnt work for me. Im not gonna eat the prescribed 4 oz steak as an entire meal! WTF?! If im eating steak give me a damn steak. Im not eating salads and half or quartar sized meals. realistically just cut out the 2nds and extra gravy!

  • Final note. My dad (54yrs 250lbs extremely out of shape!) started working out with me. Holy S**t! I He is dying but none the less like other have said its not for everyone and also it is for the people who dont know how to REALLY workout like myself. Personally im lost at a gym. INSANITY has at least given me some direction and I have really enjoyed the results so far. Everyone keeps asking me about how its going and I only have positive answers! YOU WILL SEE RESULTS!

  • Guys losing/gaining weight amounts to strict diet - plan 5-6 meals a day out with the correct carb/protein/fat ratio for your body and stick with it, dont buy dvd's lol there are so many youtube videos on weekly workouts or just google that shit

  • obviously its more effective than biking. cardio is a non essential factor to weight loss. this isnt a revolutionary video, its HIIT. your another victim to great advertising. results are 80% diet, you need 3 days in the gym lifting heavy with 60sec rests between sets. if you wanna get shreaded, run for 30secs, walk for 60 and do it for 30 min and youll burn close to 400cals. get a solid 3 day split for the other 3 days and eat 200 cals under maintenance

  • @calbeeeeee when did we start talking about P90X? if you want to get fit and gain muscle, these videos arent for you. you cant get cut and big at the same time, its one or the other. its apparent you dont know the first thing about physical training or fitness and fell victim to good marketing. im not saying intensity isnt a good cardio program, but thats all it is. with a proper diet, you only need cardio 3 times a week at 30min intervals. if you want to eat like a slob, use this

  • @calbeeeeee do yourself a favor and do your research. you will save yourself alot of waste time. again, it is impossible to make good muscle gains while loosing body fat. if the workout your doing is doing that for you along with your diet. you better patent it and sell it because you have unlocked the secret to fitness. you cant get noticeably stronger while cutting and you cant lower your BF% while bulking.

  • @calbeeeeee of course people buy them. i dont know what kind of point your trying to make here. if your arguing it works, it depends on your goals. if you want to be 145lbs and be able to do 40 pushups and 20 chinups, be skinny and "ripped" do the dvd's, more power to you. if you want to 175lbs and bench 240lbs, squat 400lbs, do 200lbs pull downs and be jacked, go to a gym.

  • i do p90x plyno x because his is better and i do p90x resistance training on cardio power days becasue the only thing p90x hs going truly is you don't rework the same body parts but the lack of good cardio makes me do insanity the rest of the week and it is truly unmatched so to say workout at a easier rate is dumb because your not pushing your body for change you thing pro athletes could do what they do if they didnt train hard look at football ufc fighters basketball any sport harder you train

  • I actually started this thing 5 days ago and I'm seeing results and feeling results already. I kno fast results aren't always the best but I've always worked out and i believe that subbing this cardio workouts for your regular ones will keep you toned and its up to you to lift more weights to get size on the light cardio days. just sayin i like it so far

    Doing max reps at max weight is really good for burning calories and building muscles. However if you don't rest for a long enough period of time, your muscles cant fill up with enough oxygen to complete a workout properly. And with this lack of oxygen, Lactic acid begins to flush out your muscles, and that's what make you stiff and sore. So, the first grid which showed "Long rest&Short but intense work" is actually much better for your muscles and your body. Duhhhhh

  • hey Kaydub4, although past research has proven what you say true, recent research shows their is no such thing as "lactic acid" in the body and it is not the main contributor to acidosis in the muscle. Lactate does how ever form in the body during intense exercise, but we now know it is not detrimental to the muscle. Instead it is vital for the reduction of pyruvate to form substrates important to glycolysis and maintained muscle energy.
