  • Ooh! I tremble thinking about else he can do with those fingers!!

  • @ladyfuschia oops what ELSE!!!

  • @ladyfuschia if u think about John.... he passed away years ago 8-((

  • This is probably the greatest thing I have ever seen

  • I THINK THIS IS AWESOME, THANKS FOR MAKING CLASSICAL MUSIC FUN TO LISTEN TO.

  • One of the best bass players ever. RIP John.

  • I had this show, The VHS tape finally gave up and fell apart.

  • Wow! What a lineup. Was this a one shot deal? a tour?

  • Great Bass solo from Entwistle !

  • Heard this today on the radio,

  • All they're doing to this song is what Woody Herman did do it, except with Rock not Jazz. And I think it's great

  • Joe fits in anywhere he wants.

  • Dang.

  • This is astonishing! Who would have thought such a dream team could come about? Except - Walsh doesn't really fit in. I know he contributed a little to Carl Palmer's side of ELP Works, but he still doesn't fit in IMO.

  • @wardka I think Joe showed what a true pro should do in a group like that. Let others shine when it's their time. He held back with the exception of a quick few tasty riffs. Look at Rocky Mountain Way from the same concert. He fits right in. What an incredible lineup!

  • @Nivekrst Well, that's a good point. This one piece is taken out of context. I might have said he was too close to Americana for this ELP work, but that would be just silly too. It's a 100% American composition. I'll have to look for the rest of this show.

  • @wardka I knew what you meant with the comment, I just had to jib as I'm quite the Walsh fan. He appears pretty wasted at this show. But the overall all show highlighted hits from all involved and I thought Joe, minus the outfit, laid back nicely, something many "rockstars" would not be able to do.

  • Awesome lineup even if they did play this classic song WAY too fast...and the Korg covering for the GX1?? .. My Roland JP8000 is a closer match as far as sound quality goes.Still, this is nothing less than an EPIC performance! Emerson is always amazing to listen to as well as watch perform.

  • id just like to know how this lineup got put together

cuz whoever was the guy who did was truly - no sarc - a patron

    of the arts

  • love jon lord.keith and chick corea are the 2 that just blow me away.entwhistle is so amazing.RIP friend

  • In keyboards there is only 2...KEITH EMERSON & JON LORD..ENOUGH SAID.

  • @66Childintime Mmm, how about a chap named Rick Wakeman??

  • I always knew Emerson was amazing....I've never seen Entwistle play like that! Incredible!!

  • Entwistle is just effortless...

  • This could be one of the greatest line ups ever assembled on stage. I've heard about this tour for many years, but this is the first I've seen of the footage. It's great stuff!

  • WOW ! Sorry Greg Lake but Entwistle is kickin' you butt on bass!

  • as great as Keith Emerson is, John Entwistle stole the show......

  • Why do some people make an effort to make snyde, complicated assessments of artists? They didn't miss any points. They did what they WANTED to do. WHo gives a rats ass what someone else intended. It's good music by great artists...'nuff said!

  • It's all good - just like the English rockers rescued the Blues from the garbage dump of history and made many, who otherwise would never had known, aware of the Afro-American masters of that great music, this rendition of ELP brought many to hear Copeland. It's all for the best.

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • To be clear, I am in no way discrediting the musicianship on this stage. That said, in order to understand the depth of Copland's statement, the piece must be listened to in its original format and as it is presented in his Third Symphony. In both cases, the NATURAL partial writing in the brass is important to the program. You are not qualified to comment on the piece until you understand that. ELP have rocked a lot of things, but this is not one of them. THEY HAVE MISSED THE POINT ENTIRELY!

  • Greg Lake clicked dislike... LOL Just kidding.

  • Keith is no Rachel Flowers, but, he's getting there.

  • Great stuff! For more outstanding bass playing check out Woodchoppers Ball by Ten Years After live at The Marquee. Thanks for this!

  • why does joe walsh remind me of Spicoli?

  • @birdebyrd Because that's who he "scores" from!

  • Definitely would have LOVED to be there!

  • I don't agree. I think this is better than the original.Aron Copeland wrote the original composition. Emerson,Lake and Palmer rocked it,but were not the originators.

  • Does music get any better than this!

  • what. a. show. didn't know that video footage existed for this show! Emo, The Ox, Simon on the same stage. Thanks for posting.

  • Never have I heard a bass guitar played like Entwistle does. It almost becomes a lead instrument in his expert hands ...

  • Kik-Azzz! Especially Emerson, Baxter, Entwhistle and Philips. This version is no-holds-barred, take no-quarter Kick but!

The Emerson-Baxter harmony solo in the middle is a real treat and is smokin!

  • It's like these guys were born to play together. Wish there was more. Many thanks for this amazing post!!!!!

  • Nice, but a pale shadow of the original...

  • Roddy Piper on the keyboard

  • Sorry - but J Walsh - appeared a little lost in this tune.......my opinion...

  • WOW, is right!

  • Songs mature in time, and this is a proof of it. Each version has its own. This one I must say is the best one I've heard, pure energy.

Keith is in fact one of the best keyboardists ever.

  • ALL STAR CAST !!

  • Sorry, but I have to tell you, that , since i`ve heard this, i can`st stop listening to it.

  • John Entwistle WOW !!!

  • John Entwistle's fingers are like magic...

  • Holy S*%#! This is unbelievable. Why isn't this whole concert available...somewhere?

  • Lake I really like your work but Emerson+Entwistle (rip) is pure demolition! God, how I like this version, it has the energy than the original lacks a bit in my opinion. Thanks for share this!

  • @darksideofdarkness

yeah lacks the drumming you would need carl palmer to fill in that role

  • Emerson and Entwistle on the same stage pure amazing

  • @atgskater14 lol yh u expect some brilliant stuff when there on

  • @atgskater14 HOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYY FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCKKKKK!!!!!

  • Nice footage in great quality! Thanks man.
