  • that's a gem, thanks for posting!

  • lol fuck the crowd look @ layne swingin them hips lol nohomo

  • people don't usually pay attention for the music, they pay attention for what you represent. you know, you can be the greatest musician in history, but if there isn't a bunch of people kissing your ass, no one will notice.

  • I agree, I can't believe people are up walking around not paying attention, taking pisses etc... ugh..great video, priceless.

  • this crowd fucking sucks

  • Danielinchains87, I love you, man!! Thanks for posting so much awesome footage!!

  • yeh, i was thinkin that too, but then again, look at the chick with the neon green sunglasses and be happy thats all were talkin about. anyone remember hyper color shirts and spandex with the neon green stripes? ahha...

    i would love to talk to anyone who went to this show...

  • Wow! They sounded good that day. Layne's singing great1

  • Beauty Song!!! LoVe ALiCe In ChAiNs!!!

  • 8:47 For a second, I thought it was Vedder >.>

  • Definitely there's a close resemblance. Never know, it could be.

  • Nah when the camera turned fully, it wasn't him at all. Still great fucking show!

  • That's great!

  • these people get to see the greatest band ever in their prime and they're just sitting there? makes me want to slap the shit out of every last one of them. =D

  • If that's really from 1989... who knew? I didn't 'get' The Pixies, until after Grunge.

  • right but it was more of a joke than anything....who could've possibly known these guys would blow up at the time? they still kicked major ass in front of everyone. maybe the crowd was tired...?

  • I think they didn't know what they were listening to. And I think the people at the back were the parents. :) Maybe that's why Layne wasn't supposed to swear. :)

  • you might be right but they always censor outdoor shows. they probably didn't understand it either because the 80's was all hair band stuff. aic even sounded like a hair band at first, then layne found his groove.

  • On major influences:

    Guns 'N' Roses -> Alice In Chains

    Black Sabbath -> Soundgarden

    The Pixies -> Nirvana

    Neil Young -> Pearl Jam

    But all these artists have enough personality and ability to put their own stamp on things and develop their own inimitable styles.

    Also *check out* Love Hate Love:

    5:22 to the end is a near mystical experience.

  • right. it's okay to borrow a sound but if you're still original, it's good. almost everyone centers around their common influences when they start a band. i'll check out the link, thanks man.

  • Actually I like each of the 'Grunge' bands better than the originals. My generation, I guess. :)

  • my mom always said Alice in Chains music reminded her of Black Sabbath which was her favorite band growing up

  • All the Seattle bands have a little Black Sabbath influence - more so in Soundgarden and AIC, not as much PJ.

    Check out:

    Soundgarden - Your Saviour

    Live at The Offramp cafe in Seattle, I think in 1990. :) As usual, it gets good about 3/4 into the song.

  • A litte more accessible musically:

    Temple Of The Dog - Wooden Jesus

  • interesting. however i don't hear any guns and roses influence. alice in chains did have glam/hair metal influences at the very beginning, but i wouldn't say it's something to do with g'n'r

  • Oh cmon. The heavy tracks before Dirt all have a tiny bit of Slash n Axl [and some Mother Love Bone too].

  • @hurtreliefhurt .. you dont here it? listen to fairytale love story.. its there

  • I thought the same when I first saw this video.

    they had gods in front of them and didn´t notice it

  • omfg, these are great. thanks so much for sharing. really good sound quality .++++ also greatest bowie song and best cover of it period.
