Marks used to do a knock off version of Breakaways that was also available in plain choc. If the head honcho in charge of biscuits at Marks is reading this could you bring them back please?
I remember this advert more then any from when I was younger, I then called breakaways wicked's after seeing this advert! And still nickname then wicked's now haha great advert!
Hiya Matt, im not too sure if u remember me or not, i also did the breakaway advert with you, Leslie from liverpool, i was wondering if u have a copy of the ''These are my brothers hand-me-downs'' advert?
Over the last god knows how many years i've written to Rowntrees and Nestle and never heard anything back, Hope u can help, Thanks Les
@mattjshaw1980 omg i remember this advert!!! This must have been on tv long after 1986. i was born in 82 and I remember thisso it must have been shown into the 90s as well?
Great Ad.. does anyone recall the 80's rap breakaway ad.
it went something like this -
He was the meanest geezer in the city,uh huh real rough stuff not too pretty uh huh.. but he still remembers the fateful day that his Mum did say " I'll take away your Breakaway" Thats real milk chocolate around a crunchy biscuit, she coulda been bluffing but he couldn't risk it.
"OK Mum I'll do as you say... but don't take away my Breakaway"
His name was Matthew Shaw and he went on to work on crusie ships. At one point he was a very good friend of mine and went to St Anselms school in Birkenhead Wirral England. Havent seen him in a good long while. Good friend of Shane Ritchie as well
Breakways mmm... Remember Mum would put them in my packed lunch throughout Primary School. Good times.
Probably only about a quarter as nice now as they were back then.
