  • breathing helps a shit load. i noticed i wasnt breathing when i was lifting heavy weight. when i started taking huge amounts of air i noticed i had alot more power.

  • Guys I was looking for heavy bench press tips. Try google the word 'Mankind Muscles' and you would find a good bench press resource at first place. These tips work for me and thought to share.

  • this video is for the tards that wanna look cool in the gym benching alot of weight. what's the point of this?You can very well bench for power and strength with high weights and few reps, then using this guys tehnique. and u could finish your chest day with a close grip bench press for triceps if u really want to work them both on the same day.And this guy talks about about using your back muscles to push The only reason u use your back on the bench press is because it acts as a synergic muscle

  • Thanks for the info. I noticed that my pecs were taking too much strain when benching higher up my torso; lowering the bar to where the chest meets the abdominals has kept the invigoration from worsening. Good advice!

  • yeah. today i put up 165 and broke the record. but my only problem is i have a bad back and bad knees so i can only squat 185 and deadlift 300 (i broke the squat record too and im five pounds from the deadlift) my back just hurts after doing those workouts

  • ok just looking for a lil help. I know theres these extreme ppl like if ppl dont dont touch their chest Im gonna beat them up. However its come to my attention a lot more of people are stopping 1 inch shy of the chest. myself included I do it to help my shoulders..the weights very controllable, however my range of motion is screwed up or something cuz if i touch my chest it strains my shoulders to much. thoughts on stopping an inch shy anyone?and im talking an inch not 5 inches like some ppl lol

  • start over, lower the weights on the bar and learn to go all the way. you'll be happy you did later on. technical errors can only be corrected by trying and get the feel on ur own, not by watching youtubes.

  • @popeyeshemmasving the weight on the bar feels good...and controllable just i think its my R.O.M because the soreness is barable in my shoulder if i do just annoying and not worth the risk of injuring it. So really i sorta think the idea of stopping an inch shy is smart. Just was curious on other peoples thoughts and ideas.

  • breathe in, lift and THAN exhale. in another video he also made a point that if you lift slowly you lose power with fewer reps, and you will lose strength quicker if you exhale as you go up.

    It seems easy but I have no ability to bring the bar down below like that, gets too much triceps I guess, I've been training pecs all the time (2~ yrs). So I prefer the stationary bar instead of the free one, or dumbbells.

    Not sure I can do that thing with the lats either, feels good doing it in the air but doesn't seem to help me :) any tips for more triceps?

    Smaller grip is good tho also, but not too small.

  • The shortest distance between two things is a straight line so it makes zero sense to push the bar back. Just making more work for yourself

  • Seems like alot of people are forgetting that a bench press is a COMPOUND exercise, not just a chest exercise. These tips will get you results, im 130 lbs. and following this i bench 215 :)

  • This is the best video I have seen on this site on correct form for this exercise. Flaring your elbows out kills your shoulders on heaver weights, and this demonstrates the correct way to tuck them. Thanks for posting.

  • im 5'7" and i have short ass arms. i hate it because i cant squeeze my shoulder blades together and take the bar off the rack at the same time so one shoulder blade ends up coming off the bench.

  • oh now i undestand you. Yeah, but you cant go linear if you put your elbows looking foward, is impossible. And trust me, i have done linear and the way this dude do it is the best. Linear will kill your shoulders in the long run. This way is better to recruit more muscles so you have more push power.

  • steve, this exercise is for different things. if your trying to put on mass you do slow and controlled with a lot of weight. if your trying to get cut you do this or if you are lifting for a sport you do this
