  • I have a German made P228, too. An issue I had was the roll pins for the breech block in the slide drifting out a little under recoil. I used a center punch with a very fine tip and LIGHTLY peened the end of the inner roll pin at both ends to secure it against backing out again. I've put a lot of rounds through it since with no more issues. The finish on the slide leaves some to be desired and seemed to wear from holster contact pre-maturely I thought. Aside from that it's a really good shooter.

  • "Fat cat bankers on wall street"

  • What's that tape on the triggerguard for?

  • Picking up a 229 this weekend!

  • This makes me wish I still had my P225. Nice single stack 9mm!

  • Got to play with one of these beauties (as a brit) at the AFOSI Ramstein Last year :D Great bunch of guys! :D

  • Check out the Sig P229 SAS Gen 2. It looks exactly like the P228!

If you want the closest gun you can get to the 228, check that 229 sas gen 2 out! Very cool!

  • Just put down a deposit on a clean used P228 last night. I pick it up next week. Can't wait to test it out.

  • Hi youtube, i have a BRAND NEW never used P228/P229 hogue rubber grips, i mistakenly ordered them for my Sig P238 but i didnt read the website carefully enough so i am selling them for $8 my mistake could be your win let me know whats up by PM or response

  • If anyone is looking for a P228R I have a MINT one for sale.

    ross81974@yahoo.com or 262-613-8047 for pics

  • I picked up an all German p228 for $700. It had very minimal holster wear on it when I bought it and only a few tiny dings in the trigger guard. I've shot at least 500 rounds through it and will continue to do so. They really aren't as valuable or as hard to find as nutnfancy makes them out to be, but god do I love that gun and treat it better than almost any other possession I own.

  • Nice vid and info. Do you know what the differences are between the Sig P228 and P239? I am going to attempt to carry the P239 and seems as though they are almost similar in both size and weight.

  • @MrKZizzle I have a p228 and my gf has a p239, the p239 is lighter weight and slimmer, it's a single stack and holds 8 rounds of 9mm, my p228 holds 15. I wouldn't really consider a p239 to be a good ccw, it's great for shooter's with smaller hands like my gf. I think this is really where it excels at, as a ladies gun. It's quite heavy as well, heavier than my glock 19.

  • I dont understand why there most attractive pistol is not available for sale :(

  • @loyolaf well if they still sell the p229, it's exactly the same thing aesthetically. the difference between the p228 and p229 is that the p228 has a slide made of forged carbon steel and the p229 is milled stainless steel. shape and mechanics are all the same.

  • YOU ARE RIGHT, I AM A SIG & GLOCK MAN. I AM IN THE US ARMY RIGHT NOW. AND I OWN A GLOCK 21 SF. 45 CAL. 13+1 . WHEN I WAS ON THE POLICE FORCE IN DETROIT IN FROM 1990-1998 I CARRIED RHE SIG 228, AND I LOVE THE SIGS.. ONLY THING I HAD A PROBLEM WITH WAS THE FINISH. MY 228 RUSTED IN MY SAFE, WHILE I WAS ON A MONTH LEAVE. AND I WAS SO PISSED.. BUT BESIDES THAT. SIG-SAUERS ARE GREAT GUNS. AND EVEN BETTER WITH NIGHT SIGHTS. MY 228 ALSO SAVED MY LIFE IN A SHOOTING INCIDENT IN DETROIT. SIG SAUER ROCK

  • Hey Nutnfancy, have had my West German Sig P228 since '91. Still have all original paper work and box. This is by far my favorite pistol and carry it every day. Thanks for the great vid about my favorite pistol.

  • I want to do OSI or NCIS

Correcting you on others using it: Secret Service uses 229 in .367Sig, USCG uses 229 in .40s&w as well as NCIS.

OSI and CID still use the 9x19 228. Overall looks like a solid gun

  • Love love love your videos

  • I have a P228R.....lol How many have those have you seen??

  • Go with a Beretta 92.

  • 28:12 "Now I've got all kinds of other guns I can send rounds down range. If you even knew how many I had access to it would blow your mind" Now come on Nutnfancy, I live in the UK, you are torturing me here!

  • my fav pistol in CSS :)

  • @nutnfancy

I just bought a new in box unfired west german marked P228, and I really want to shoot it, but I don't think I should seeing as how old it is, What do you think shoot or don't shoot, how much will it effect its value?

    thanks

  • Nutin ,I need help .I am having a hard time finding zero on my e2 229 sig can you help?I got a grand in the hand gun and mags. Now I want to trade it for a high point cause I cant hit shit with it..

  • Hey Nutn I noticed doodle didn't have eyes on at 32:38... :) Anyways, me and my dad love your vids, please keep up the awesome work!

  • Nutnfancy, I looked for a table top review of the Sig P220 45acp, and I was amazed I could not find one. What's up? I own a P226 Blackwater Tactical and love it, and also owned a P226 in 40S&W and P229 in 9mm. Both excellent pistols. I know you're not fond of 8-10 round pistols, but I also know you more than like 1911's. Please let me know if I over looked your P220 review, or if you plan on shooting a vid on one. Thanks for all your other vids as I've learned a great deal.

  • Damn! i knew i should have bought one of these a few years back, when they were at the local gun shops, now they are near impossible to find, oh well nothing wrong with my classic 226

  • Brother I own one and love it. Got it as a graduation present before I shipped to basic. Great gun.

  • The Sig P228 is gun extraordinaire.

  • Is it common for officers to be able to order and carry a personal pistol on duty? Does this regulation still exist?

  • @NovaScotiaNewfie Never mind I think Nutn' said that Clinton axed that option.

  • @NovaScotiaNewfie You do realize EVERY DEPARTMENT has different regulations, right? As far as I'm aware, mostly for a main pistol they're stuck with what they're issued...but there are LEOs on this channel that would be able to tell you better than me.

  • Just baught a well worn SIG exeter NH P 228 marked "Made in germany", for $450 w/ 1000 rounds of reloads. I take it it's post Berlin Wall.

ZoMg this thing is amazing. Since it's already well worn I'm just getting a couple spare parts, and it's a "shooter" and "WROL" secondary...

I love this thing way more than my Glock.

Also, anyone want a Glock 19?

    >.<

  • I'm pretty sure our SAS used this for a while then changed up to the 226.?

  • @DemonicWeapons to my knowledge they still carry 228?

  • @DemonicWeapons I think in full, "go-to-war" kit they use the '226, but in covert, CRW etc, they use the 228 or 229

  • The 228 is the only Sig that I own. It is also the W German model. I'll never part w/ it. As much as I love my Glocks, that 228 just melts into my hand like it was meant to be there.

  • Let's ban this gun cuz it's a little bit smaller.F*!king Daffy!

  • TV show please. Go. K thanks.

  • Now while Sig does not make the 228 anymore, they do make the 229 which is almost the exact same thing (looks wise, not an expert, dont pretend to be) and comes in 9mm.

  • I have not like Sig in the past. I don't know what changed but I shot a p228 that one of my Unit buds brought to the last shoot out and that thing shotreal smooth and accuratly.

  • woah, like 1 minute be4 this dude started talking about WROL i was thinking: this dude is so going to use this gun when WROL happens.

  • Hey, I have been following your work for a while and I really appreciate all your great videos. I am currently in the Air Force and for various reasons I am transitioning over to SF. I was curious though to see if you were planning on reviewing the P229 in any or all its variants. While it is similar to the P228, it is much more widespread and is available. Thanks again for the great work!

  • nuttin fancy question about your kit with your pistol in the cross draw position to be easy excessable to enemy ?

  • @Negroprime12 if the enemy is close enough to go for the pistol, im pretty sure it would in your hand or a back up blade.. but its no different to haveing the pistol in a drop leg as far as bad guys going for it.

  • p.s. If you get the chance i would love to see you review the sig p232( looking to buy) or a CZ-75B, which is my fav gun i personally own, its a heavy beast though.

  • Nutn, I just picked up a used W. German p228 for $550 out the door(the shop had it for $150 less than a used p229). With that savings I had planned on sending it out for the Sig Service Package with night sights. The gun does have a few scratches and I have noticed Sig will refinish your gun with a Nitron finish. Would this effect the value and if so would you recommend is that finish on par with duracoat?

  • Thanks for the video I will never sale my 228 I'm 30 years old and I will give it to my son or little girl that loves to shoot

  • I know a website that will every once in a while have I think 2-3 228s it's dallasguns(.)com (I think that it's the site if not it's pretty darn close and google should help) I know they have the 226 every where on there but it just depends on when you look at it

  • Just wanted to add that I've carried my 228 for many years, even during summer months at times when I felt firepower was needed. I used a Safariland holster, which I own a few, because it hid the gun very well with my shirt out. That beautifull suede liner protected the gun's finish perfectly. I recently returned it to Safariland due to the fact that the man made material of it's exterior began to crumble and became undependable for safe carry. I wish it'd been leather. I just wanted it seen.

  • First seen the 228 in Robocop and fell in love with it. Bought mine in '88 after retiring from NYPD. While active I was forced to use the S&W mod 10 which was dependable. Mine's mint cond as well and always carried it in a lined holster mostly in winter. My son was issued the 226 by NYPD but did have a defective mag. It's been perfect ever since. In summer I carry the G27 or NAA in my pocket.I've even shot lead nose handloads thru the 228 to see what happens. Not one jam out of entire mag. Lovely

  • so the exeter, nh sigs are lousy?

  • My wife's dad has one which he was supposed to give to me but i kinda showed this video now he's having second thoughts about it. (he's been thinking for almost 2 months now) : (

  • Swedish police gun :D haha got one but in airsoft :( hahah

  • ive go thousands of rounds through my p228

  • I just tryed to get one for $575 in but i was 5 mins to late to the gun shop to get it UGh .... GREAT REIVEW

  • Great video (again). Thanks for all the time you put into these and I hope Allie is doing well. A comment and a question...

I love Sigs, but they are pricey. What is a more economical gun that delivers close to the same quality? I know you get what you pay for....

Second, I caught your boot vldeo on the superfeet inserts and want to recommend the Powerstep Pro Tech Full Strength. Available over counter at foot doc and ~ $30.00---more cushion and arch support. (it has helped me)

  • I carried a 228 with night sights for years in the Army

  • Thanks so much for the eye shadow commercial. You know your audience, thats for sure.

  • @K4LA55 Somehow I don't think he has a whole lot of control over the content of the ads.

  • @K4LA55 Get adblock + for firefox TADA no more commercials ever!

  • @K4LA55 Ads use your cookies to look at the sites you view and your search terms to pick ads for you. So complain to yourself. And my I suggest Adblock.

  • @K4LA55 I got a snowblower commercial.

  • Great review. I love my sig p228. Although it is a NH version (no rail), never had a single malfunction...it was my first gun and i'll never get rid of it. thanks for the review!

  • Hey Nutnfancy, when are we going to see a collection video?

  • Do not talk dirt on Clinton.

  • @valflyinf

why not? he was an anti gun president who has done damage to our Second Amendment rights that we are still fighting to undo, both at the federal and state levels!

  • @AirForceAce3571 You are right about that, he helped banned assault rifles untill like 2004 or something. He was also a good President. Give him credit for the political experiment he made, in fact there was a end date to the law so it was supposed to end, which it did. Not like he made a law that could not be repealed.. But would you hand an assault rifle to a violence crazy individual. America was/is this individual.

  • @valflyinf What you call a "political experiment" I call a severe infringement on one of my god-given civil rights. That law did nothing to reduce crime in the US and never stopped any criminal from getting such a gun if they wanted one (reference the '97 north hollywood incident). Also, any legal citizen who buys a so called "assault weapon" goes through the same background check as when buying any other gun.

  • @AirForceAce3571 Good post. I had forgotten the date of the shooting. That is strong evidence.

However in this day and age you must be ready to be flexible to fix the woes of our mother land. He tried. Didn't work, didnt cause the shooting either..

  • @AirForceAce3571 when one assumes that god does not exist, nothing is given only earned

  • are all sigs made in the germany

  • I find it funny that in Canada you can have your guns shipped to your local post office. That's the only thing related to guns here that's more lenient then in the US.

  • Thank you! I've been waiting for this review!

  • Old school stamped slide Sigs > New Milled Sigs

  • I cannot sleep w/o my p220 in my headboard lock box. Sig rules, 226/228 are great range guns, 9mm just not my favorite. Glock 10mm-20 is my next favorite. Your vid reviews are lengthy but very practical and informative. Thank you!

  • Hey Nutn, at my new range I have to get pistol qualified, which means being dead accurate (to a degree) with a sidearm on an indoor range at 20-50 meters or so. Do you recommend the P228 for this, as I am deciding on whether I should purchase this or a Glock

  • @aProudNRAMember 20-50 meters what the fuck? u a seal lmao?

  • @MrBharrington Proficency exam boss. Not a huge deal I just have to hit the target five times.

And what I mean by 2-50 is somewhere between there. no more no less

  • I've been wanting a 228 even before the review :(

  • bye bye glock????? lol

  • Just got one today and loving it....

  • I love my west German P228, and now I will never sell it. It is extremely accurate and a joy to shoot. Nothing like it. Paid $450 for it at a gun show a couple years back. In a pinch, I could sell it for $600, but it will have to be pried from my cold dead hand!

  • This video was hilarious! So many one liners....Love it. Great review as always Nutn!

  • I'm picking one up next week, used from a former LE, for $450 + tax, DROS fee.

  • I wish my p225 mags weren't 42 bucks, Metgar needs to hook it up.

  • Hey Nutn! Just to make you feel old...... I was three years old when you shot that target from '94! Great video as always, keep 'em rollin' out! I appreciate what you're doing with TNP and wish you all the best!

  • @TronPancake Firstly, the guns empty.

Secondly, the camera is looking down at the table, nutn is sitting behind the camera, not above it.

HAD the unloaded gun gone off, ceiling would have been the only casualty.

  • @Kylef7735

    Here lies the ceiling.

    They never saw it coming...

    Because ceilings don't have eyes.

  • Great review.....

  • Thanks for the review. I've been seeing these pop up now and then. As you mentioned, the triggers on those pistols are AWESOME. Too bad the new SRTs are absolutely terrible; heavy and have lots of creep.

  • From my experience with the Sig- it has a great double action, it is extremely accurate, and has low recoil with good reliability- great gun overall

  • From my experience with the Sig- it has a great double action, it is extremely accurate, and has low recoil with good reliability- great gun verall

  • Hello to everyone from Nebraska USA

A big thank you for this and all your information

I like the way you said these are very hard to find and now thousands of viewers will be looking for one

Well I did not even get all the way through the video before reading comments there were some fir sale at gunbroker and other places and the value of these are well worth every cent

Nutnfancy you helped me with much new knowledge with this and other information and I am watching every one you do

    As previous

  • I like this pistol.

  • The POC, philosophy of carry, suits this gun' and almost any gun, if you know how to select the proper holster/belt combo.

That is what I advised LEO's rather than buying a gun simply because it is small. I know someone who carries a 226, and you would never know it unless you're really looking for it, and looking closely. I also knew an undercover who carried 4, count 'em 4, Para P13's.

It's all about knowing what you're doing.

Mec Gar makes almost all Sig mags.

  • maybe one of the best sigs made of all time

  • Good vid i have the first year 13 round mag 228 and love it, one of my fav guns of all time.

  • Nutn... I am a huge fan of the 228 (M11). I carry one in the small of my back everyday for work. Outstanding weapon. I'll let you know how it handles the "sand" when i return in six months. Thanks for everything you do and your service to our great country.

  • I watch your videos like a TV show, I put them up on my TV, and sometimes forget to pause them when I leave the room. I guess what I'm saying is, your videos are really good

  • GREAT vid bro.

Went to SIG for a shooter class last year and it was just amazing how accurate they are as well as just fun to shoot. You're absolutely right about it getting a by on the weight. You really don't even notice it and it helps the shooter stay on target while minimizing the recoil. GREAT for newer shooters for sure!! If I can find a 228, it'll be in my collection for sure...otherwise it'll be a 226 to sit next to my G23. Also another great gun.

    Thanks Nutn!

  • what about the Sig p250 do you think there is any difference between p226, p228

  • Bought my 228 from a co-worker in the late 90s. 100 rounds through it. He wanted $200 for it. I gave him $250 because I felt bad. ;) #win

  • lol, "thanks Dad!"

  • What is a good price for a BNIB Sig P228 (W. Germany)?

  • X-Files agents did use a P228... and P226, P225, Taurus PT92, Glock 19, PPK, S&W 5906, and many others.

  • At about 6:00 you said that a separate flashlight is an inferior system, why is that? I believe that a separate flashlight is a superior system in many ways, also when drawing the weapon in theory a rail notch may snag on your holster which would be inconvenient in a tactical situation (never had this happen to me personally, just a thought.) But if you don't mind could you either send a reply to me or make a video detailing how an attached flashlight is superior, I am sure others wonder as well

  • P.S. Sig recommends replacement of slide roll pins with brand new set if they are removed for service. And would also recommend Tru Glo fiber optic brite-site part TG131ST2 For P228/229(Equinox type sight upgrade). TG131ST1 is for P226/220.

  • I have one and love it. With CS trace grips and pre ban 13 rounder mags that I paid an arm & leg for back during the awb. Sometimes i'll carry it with just one mag and no spare (cheating weight).

  • I just looked them up on gunbroker. A west german 228, fairly clean - $659.00 lowest price and $759.00 highest

  • Funny You mentioned a gun dealer wanting to buy your gun, My best friend sent me a west german 1991 p220 in 45 and it was sent to a local gun dealer, opened the box, did my paperwork, and he wanted it bad..I told him my buddy just gave it to me and he looked dumbfounded...It's nice too, perfect condition except holster wear on the edges..love it, lots of character...

  • I've been watching some of these vids, and was woundering;I am buying my first handgun this year. My question is what should I get? I just want a round about answer, doesn't have to be exact. I want an american firearm but not sure what I want. I don't need much, just a concealable weapon, doesn't have to be subcompact but enough to carry easily. I was thinking of a SF XD compact 45.,but I don't like the striker,I want a double action. I have alittle experiance. Love the vids, hope someone can help.

  • @Leadlobotamist Whether a it needs to be a subcompact depends a lot on your waist size honestly -- I have a 33 in waist so I need a subcompact to avoid printing when bending over, etc. Also don't get hung up thinking it has to be 45, because there are really thin, light guns (good for IWB) like the LCP, Kahr PM, Walther PPS, etc which will never be possible in 45. Also as Nutn says the majority of people get tired of carrying a heavy gun (30-40 oz) very fast.

  • @RWT683 Thank you for the reply,I do appreciate it. I have a 40in waist but wear baggy clothes that don't show outlines easy. And I can get by with lugging around a heavy weapon. But a tactical would be alittle much haha. I know I shouldn't be thinkin' of a 45. If anything,I can get a small caliber with hollow points so stopping power isn't as much of an issue. I will look into those models. I'm just trying to avoid 9mm,I don't know why I just don't like it very much.

  • @Leadlobotamist Well if you're ok with the weight, based on your self-description you should be able to carry any gun you want. If you want a 45 the Glock 30 is very reliable and surprisingly accurate (at least the one I shot). I like 9mm for a variety of reasons, but I want a 45 one day, prob a Sig 220. I wouldn't be able to carry it though. I carry a LCP (pocket, IWB) in summer and a Glock 19 (IWB) in winter. I want a Walther PPS for summer carry when I can afford it.

  • @RWT683 Yeah, the 9mm isn't so bad,but if I EVER had to use a weapon in self defense,I want to make sure I drop them. I've read alot of cases where the 9mm didn't do the job like a .45 can,or a 40 S&W. I'd like a 40 but I've been hearing that they are trying to outlaw that ammo type. I've been looking at the Ruger SR9c. I'd own a glock, but I want an American firearm. The thing I don't like about Springfield weapons is that they are US but made in a diffrent country. I want Made in the USA haha.

  • @Leadlobotamist Yeah I don't want to start a "caliber war" but the only way to make sure you drop somebody is to hit him in the right place - possibly several times. There was a case in my own hometown where an officer had to shoot a guy on crack and it took 16 rounds (2 mags) of 45 to the chest to drop him. So 45 is not a magic bullet. On outlawing 40, I doubt it. I get regular emails from NRA and they would have mentioned it.

Some people bash Ruger but I think they make good affordable guns.

  • @RWT683 I think all calibers are great, but the more rounds I have to pop off,the better chance of collateral you'll have. I have convidence in my shooting but if just one stray round misses and hits someone else, thats on my handsif if it isn't lethal. I know the .45 isn't a magic round,if I wanted that I'd get a 50 AE lol. And I thought that the 40 was getting outlawed for some dumb reason. I'd doubt it but I've been reaing it somewhere,I'll look for it,maybe I am thinking of something else.

  • @Leadlobotamist The caliber I always hear of gun-banners whining about is .50 BMG. They think it's like WMD or something. I think it is banned in CA and NY. Now I HAVE heard once about somebody whining about 10mm. 40 is simply a "weak" (less powder) 10mm. But there is nothing really scary to the sheeple about 40 except maybe that a lot of LE agencies use it. 40 is well established now in the US so I doubt it's going anywhere.

  • @RWT683 I hear you,and if they are afraid of the 40 for that reason, then they would HATE the .380 auto. I is a little thing but alot of agencies use that also. Hell,if I remember right 007 used one in his Walther. Thats what my dad owns, but it doesn't really...Tickle my pickle. I love the .45,the feel, the weight, the size is nice. The 9mm has one thing though. It has accuracy and less recoil. You can fire off 2 and get the next round ready in the time it takes to fire one 45. round off. Handy.

  • I love my P6. Century is importing a lot of them from Germany and they can be found at great deals.

  • I sense a P07 review coming on. This is the second flick he presented it.

  • What I understand from Sig is that they are an excellent gun maker.

  • Any chance that you'll review a Walther P99?

  • Compact compared to a 1911 or a S&W 500

  • Damn democrats, they're not very democratric.

  • Nutn can you please review the Sig SP2022 formerly known as the Sig Pro it is a value priced Sig that rocks.

  • Does Belgium and Germany seriously make the best guns or what? Every gun review I see, or a popular gun (Due to many reasons, TV, games, or military). It seems they're made there. Or I just don't pay attention, idk.

  • the only thing i would want from the sig is the decocking lever and a slide release i can actually reach, other than that, glock is king. 2 glocks for one sigs? what a joke. two glocks for the price of one sig or the price of one hk? the glocks hold more and cost half as much, just as accurate. why waste time. your just buying a name. nough said.

  • @nutnfancy

Awsome vid Nutn! Navy aircrewen also carry it. I carried it as a squadron weapons escort in my last command, and issued them to my A/C when foward deployed as a ALSS Supervisor. Love this gun. In 2003 I ran across a used P228, and snached it up, for about 650 after taxes fees etc. I've put a couple thousand through it. I've wondered if it might become a collectable at some point, but regardless, I will never sell it. Sentamental I guess. Great gun Thanks nutn, God bless.

  • Have had my Exeter--made P229 (german-made frame) for about two years now (bought it new) and have put on it a little over 1000 rounds and NO problem whatsoever. I've used, FMJs, few hollow points, terribly reloaded rounds, old (25yrs+)rounds my dad gave me and NOT a single jam. Duds (unexploding),yes, quite a few, but then again, they were cra*py cartridges. Before all the "sig fanboy" ramping starts I've never seen any of our 4 glocks jam, nor our 228, 229 and 226 (by ours I mean mine & dad's)

  • @amomimous I am a gun fanboy and have had Glocks jam and break. I have cleared jams with a Sig or two as well. But for the most part both firearms work well.

  • @Sigp229TRT agreed, both are EXCELLENT firearm brands, and as mr. nutn himself says: your mileage may vary. I've heard of a guy who's sig mosquito had it's slide break in half and of a guy who's g19 had a faulty frame. To be honest I would be VERY happy with both brands, I just love sigs a tad more, it's personal. I love the fact that sigs have their DA/SA system and it's looks the same way I adore my dad's g19 weight and softness of the "first shot". Great guns is all I wanna say. Stay safe.

  • @amomimous I have heard lots of stories. Unless I see the slide broken in half, I have a hard time believing it. About any handgun. Any man made machine can and will fail. I like the safety of the SIG DA first shot you will not have it go off unless you want it too.

    Shoot,Move.....Live!!

  • @alav3rg4 Nope. None at all. (irony)

  • If you are into Sig handguns, go to PhotoBucket and search for Sig P228. Go to page 4 and you will see a 228 with factory Natural Camo. I bought this back when Sig was having a "gun of the month" (my words) type deal. The camo is flat but shows a sheen in the photo. Due to collectability I don't shoot it much but man is it accurate!

  • I've been waiting for this for a while. I have a 228 2 tone with srt and enhanced trigger job. It is my favorite of the pistols that I own. It may actually be my gtw gun. When I combine the 6 mags from my 226 with the 7 mags from this one, that's 13 mags to throw down. The heel of the 228 fits my hand better than my 226r also. The 228 is such a smooth firing gun.

  • A gun that Nutnfancy would not duracoat it!? GASP the blasphemy!

  • swedish police force more or less only use sigs. several police people in my family and they all got p228.

swedish armed forces got only glocks, and is by far the superior design imo.

the "navy seal thingy" about sigs is way overused. From what i have heard navy seals do NOT get to choose weapon, they are stuck with sigs...at some time they got to choose and some went with glocks. The glock makes much more sense in a maritime environnment than a sig.

  • @scandapoodle Superior design?? Hmmm exacty how.........I have shot many of each and find them to be a match for reliability. The SIG first DA shot offers a bit of safety over the light trigger Glock design. I have had a Glock 23 fail on me. Broken pin and the slide fell right off. Now I understand this can happen to anything. I have never had that happen to me with any of the SIG handguns I own or carry as duty weapons.

  • Question.

What is the designation of you MWS Aircraft?

Having trouble remembering any from my AFJROTC days.

  • just subed and wanted to say i love a sig. i have a p6, which i have never seen before so i bought it. it is also stamped west germany.

  • I originally had a P229, but sold it and bought a brand new P228 with NS about 5 years ago. I find the weight balance is much better than the 229, and also I like the full length slide serrations.

  • man ive been watchin too much hickok. i forgot how fuckin awesome nutn is!

  • They made a P228 with a rail option. (W.German)

Looks like the current price is around $850.00 (mint)

  • Can't agree more with the positioning of the controls on the sigs. Very ergonomic and well placed.

  • I can shoot my G26 better than my G19 because it's center of gravity is closer to my hand. That's probably the case for most polymer guns.

  • I never knew we canadians used the sig? I thought we still use the inglis browning hi-power for the side arm?

  • Agreed with Nutn I have a P245 which is also no longer made. My EDC, fantastic gun.

  • A very sweet gun.

  • Sig P226 is STILL my most accurate pistol...nice review!

  • Nice job Nutnfancy keep up the good work. I was hoping for a comment of 228 vs 229. Thanks to you I have picked up a railed 226 and a Mosquito. Running both of them through my Zombie target course at the ranch. To everyone: once you own and shoot Sigs you will be a fan. End of today's lesson. PS @channelgr you are a knob.

  • If chuck Norris needed to carry a gun, he would probably carry one of these.

  • hmm guns

  • Definitely true about it being a Hollywood favourite. Ever watch 24? Jack Bauer often has a P228 in that TV series. Seems like he either would have a HK USP, Glock or Sig 226 or 228 throughout the series. Personally I think it's the most beautiful handgun out there, the 228, and ergonomically it feels great in the hand.

  • Great review. I'm a huge Sig fan and have several. I still have two old 228s, and I have gifted my loved ones 228s also. So spread out we have five among us. All old German mfg.

They are concealable. A BHP is slimmer, but the Sigs are GTG. It's all in the holster.

  • I saw the cz 75 P-07 duty flashed in this review. Will there be a review on that pistol in the future?

  • Nutnfancy talking Sigs...I'll just loop the video and leave it playing in the background as therapy after a long day.

Anyone else notice how his voice changes when he talks about Sigs?

  • @Russkiyspy yes, agreed

  • i love a sig! great review. thanks for the upload

  • Nutnfancy got a question about Sigs. I have compact P250 in .45 ACP, I'm havin a hard finding good holsters for it I would love to get a Serpa. My question is there any holsters for other Sig that mine would fit in? Thanks for all that you do..

  • you Americans have it easy up here in the canucks every gun... double price

  • @Divinelighte You should be having a serious discussion about your politicians.
