  • this record is amazing

  • North Star.. damn.. as a teen I used to recline on couch, slowly exhaling the indian bidi fume to this.. reciting "I'm elevatin strong.." under my breath.

  • This track is so tight it made me cry

  • @20tropic Universal Justice

  • Raekwon ~ Wu Forever

  • Peace GOD!!!!!!!!

  • @20tropic Indeed... thanks...

  • I met kwon about 3 weeks ago and I showed him that in my 20 years of living I've only ever purchased one album and it was this one...he saluted me allowing me to recognize how much appreciated such as simple gesture... Never have i held so much respect for an artist...north star makes me reflect on my life every time hear it...its a feeling I cant and probably never will be able to explain similar to the feeling I get when I hear second coming by tekitha...peace to the gods

  • It's crazy! when I was 17 in "96", me and my crew F.O, was turnt out by Rae...I was young son! from Washington D.C. living in Northern Cali, with a baby coming, on the run, plus running my own strip on 162nd ave in the Edendales in San, Leandron, Ca. Dang Rae, you raise up some kings who were teens when you came out! -Royal T F.M.E

  • Let's remember that Poppa Wu is responsible for the intro to Wu-Tang Forever. Peace to the Gods.

  • Any soul singin from Dirty.......he got it from Poppa Wu.....Straight OG. I honestly don't know if it's Dirty or Poppa Wu but there's this dope documentary that broke my fuckin heart when they were talkin about how much of a genuinely good dude Ol' D.B was and I crumbled when Poppa Wu burst into tears. We miss u, Rusty.

  • @Daboistax May God continue to bless you, your comment moved me!

  • Lol whats with rae holding the elmo

  • Deepest fucken song in the album, that's a way to end a masterpiece album.

  • @nexttone...i felt the same exact way when I first bought the purple tape...classic albums like this will never fade

  • Strings sample is Barry White - Mellow Mood Pt. 1

  • @champino003 Lol at you removing the comment. It's never that serious.

  • concert cancelled in brussels...

  • I know the lyrics on every song and skit on that album. I used to listen to it everydamn day for 3 years. I've watch every possible interview of raekwon talking about that album and it's poppa wu singing in the background. And what a beautiful way to end an album. It makes you want to go back to the first track and listen to it again. To me this is one of the best hip hop album in history on hip hop. I am a true fan of raekwon

  • this is the perfect ending to this masterpiece, this album is one of the reasons they call music a form of art

  • Why is everyone saying ODB singing voice beutiful etc etc!?!?! I have no doubt in my mind that it is NOT O.D.B singing on that track! Its popa Wu! Sounds nothing like O.D.B... BUT it does sound like popa wu, and who's credited on the track?!?! Popa Wu.. NOT O.D.B

  • @McGinnsey In an interview Rae said it was ODB singing, straight from the horse's mouth.

  • @cubanlinx95 Ive read that interview..... and Rae's memory of the whole thing is hazy at best. It was the interviewer that mentioned O.D.B being on the track. Rae didnt bring it up, but he went along with what was said so not to seem stupid.

  • @McGinnsey If your talking about the wax poetics interview, Rae had no problem remembering who was singing on the track, and how would you know he "went along with what was said so not to seem stupid"? your not Rae. But I can understand why people would think its Popa Wu singing, but I'm sure it's ODB.

  • @jmj540 that doesnt sound like ODB!!

  • Rae mustve been in a different state of mind when he recorded this album. Only a true could record an album like OB4CL

  • Ol Dirty Bastard sings beautifully on here.

  • realiest album and my favorite of all time!

  • g.o.d is my reality

  • Dam this song brings back so much...a classic

  • The Is The BEST outro EVA

  • It took me awhile to notice the verse that pops up oh so reluctantly. Awesome closing.

  • This song is my ring tone for my realest homies.......6 years now and counting

  • RZA is the king of the beats.

  • Have some free time….

    Type in ben fame freestyle

  • Dis Beat Is Classic, Perfect Beat 4 Rae

  • @strictlyriddim yeah always fell asleep to this as was at end on my tape!! for me it out of wu gambinos and knowledge god...

  • yo, j cole killed this beat

  • Cuban Linx is an underrated masterpiece.I know it's considered and it is a classic but it is a bit underappreciated.Marvelous track,my favorite.

  • The ending to my favorite hiphop album.

  • SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL.....

  • Check Out "Mellow Mood" by Barry White

  • one of the only sons that could possible make me shed a tear. just the whole vibe: strings, odb singing, popa wu dropping knowledge, rae killing it. dang! what an outro

  • The Scarface project... movie to your ears.

you've grown up.. listen to the album again.. 16yrs gone by.

  • props to Poppa WU, talkin to Rae in the begining. CLASSIC,

  • this album is just too much

  • @MegaDoomkid

I've never felt the same way with any other music album as the first time I heard cuban linx. It was at the point where I was just starting to stop listening to crappy mainstream rappers and get into better stuff, and I was absolutely blown away. More than when I heard Illmatic, Ready To Die, 36 Chambers, Liquid Swords, Low End Theory or any other east coast classic

  • Ol Dirty singing "we've got the powers to resurrect the dead"

I wish we had the power to bring ODB back :(

  • @TheWalshey1 thats actually poppa wu singing that.

  • @TheWalshey1 I dont think that was ol dirty...

  • ODB had a beautiful singing voice

  • @jwild611 hell fucking yessssssssss

  • @jwild611 True! Only that you don't hear it on this song!!!

  • @UniqueG24 So I've heard...I thought that was him on the backing vocals...where do u hear he's not on it at all

  • @UniqueG24 Yes you do him and papa wu are both singing

  • RZA BLESSED THIS PEACE

  • very haunting i get chills from this

  • POWERFUL SONG. Especially the intro, the old man sets the tone when he says " Peace Rae Peace GOD... "

  • knowledge and wisdom on level, thanks wu !! for the insightsssssssss

  • Amazing

  • barry whiteeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • UNIQUE ASON (ODB) SPEAK "ARM LEG LEG ARM and HEAD (ALLAH) WE GOT THE POWER TO RESURRECT THE DEAD OHH G.O.D. IS MY REALITY IM ELEVATING STRONG AND WERE GONNA GO ON TO THE HIGHEST DEGREE...(inaudible)(indiscernible)" REFINE IN PARADISE FOREVER MR. RUSSEL JONES.

  • This beat makes me want to cry, i know i sound like a faggot but the strings are just so beautiful .

  • @jordansmn I feel you its just the music touching your soul

  • @jordansmn You don't have to be a faggot to appreciate a true work of art, man.

  • Papa Wu dropped mad knowledge in the beginning, classic R.I.P to REAL HIP-HOP

  • Word be in Full Force Form representation as my ideology production / same as the nine squares out of pocket rocket bustin / no one was there to see my high insight dormant hustlin' / everywhere make scratch and Im peeping diamond encrusted / gold rolex heads is up dont got the time fightin and fussin / little loners band against me fo sho back & forth mental tussin / GOD cemented concrete erudition baby bubble butt royal flushed it / encourage the newborn master teacher a superstar all HIS OWN

  • @big592 thats not funny you asshole

  • I like to know alot of Hip-Hop Heads feel exactly da same way I feel bout this track

  • 3 people are blind and thought this was justin bieber. Greatest ending to an album of all time if Raekwon aint the greatest story-teller AT LEAST of all tie then idk.. maybe even the best hip hop artist ever..

  • Peace to the gods

  • such an amazing song. best way to end an album. one love, poppa wu says some real shit

  • Classic.

  • i use to have this on repeat..i love this shit..so soulful ..the strings put u ina trance almost

  • Yeah this song makes you think. Friends and family that have passed on and shit. Crazy. Time to chill and smoke to this.

  • What is this song about?

  • @factsoutofbirds RZA(producer of the track and leader of The Wu-Tang) said it was the end of the crime story(album)...Tony Starks(Ghost) and Lou Diamonds(Raekwon) finished the heist...so now now a fatherly figure talks to Raekwon and commenting on how he grew up...the song was supposed to be an beautiful end credits moment, but of course there will be a part 2, 14 years later

  • @factsoutofbirds

    destiny and jealousy?

  • @factsoutofbirds I think its about when raekwon was put in charge of his own corner in a crazy part of the city. His corner got shot up because they were undercutting prices and they went to war.

  • One of the best RZA beats, I think. Love it. Can't hear the sample anywhere in the Barry White track but RZA flipped it nice.

  • @96Z24 because the original name of sampled song is "Mellow Mood I" and it's just a straightforward loop. cd credits are misleading. of course i love it. but it's not flipped at all :o)

  • very depressing track... sick beat. one of best RZA's

  • Classic

  • "could it be n would it be that we was babies"

  • DPRES ONE!!!!!!

  • My reality ;) Forever Wu

  • I dare ANYBODY to bump this and not zone out... its impossible!!!

  • Nostalgia man.. Got to be the smoothest beat on the album.

  • this song brings tears to my eyes

  • @tuchesuavae now that could be the Wu-Tang production

  • this feels like doing heroin and i never done that shit b4 ... pure music rite here

  • this shit goes hard. it would be hot if someone added return of the northstar at the end of the track, like a pick up where you left off kind of thing.

  • @alwerty1 trill

  • All the living all the dead

He's got the power to resurrect the dead

    G O D is my reality

I'm elevating strong and I'm going to go on to highest degree

  • @MarthaMorris69 what are the next two lines after that that ODB is mumbling?

  • Comment removed

  • @CockMyRasbah I have no idea - he was probably cracked out of his min!

  • RIP Jimmi!!!!

  • best beat ever

  • @k1ngofmiaea

My favorite Wu tang joint! I believe the RZA sampled a portion of the literal ol' school anime "The Fist of the North Star." Which happens to be my favorite Anime ever.

  • @kanarvin True indeed.

  • I mean Seriously, Can Anyone From The "Young Money" Era Can Make anything even remotely close to this, the only person mot in the "Young Money" Era that came close was the dude Z-Ro. But this here is when Rap/HipHop was at its finest. Gay-Z was doing Unreasonble doubt, Biggie was in the backround where he needed to be. Busta Was Acting a Damn Fool on the mic and on stage, now everyone is doing the same thing, im having a hard to Deciding what is rap/hiphop from R&B i cant tell the difference

  • @IoSoS215 Z-Ro's older than Young Money. He's been rapping longer than the group started.

  • Only The Chef can take a picture holding Elmo and still a BadMF!

  • Honestly, this album should get the title for 'best produced' over The Chronic.

  • yeah i pumpe this when i got release pen and hit road moving the town up and blazin puff to the sky pushin weight and clueing my head up

  • BUILT 4 CUBAN LINX IS ONE THE BEST HIPHOP CD EVER MADE

  • for me the best album of all the time !!!

  • that shit gives me goosebumps

  • @UrbanPurist it do dont it...his voice and this beat is the def. of rap/hip-hop...well to me at least....Rae was outta his mind on this. like i can't picture him in the booth rappin this! its like its happining everytime i hear it. masterpiece.

  • the cuban linx and the liquid swords are the best album I've heard but atleast there is no competition on who makes the best album.

  • @klewstr14 Add the supreme clientelle album to that list.

  • @klewstr14 nahh liquid swords had only a few great songs

  • @lyrikrules Are you kidding?!? I loved every song off that album so much. It's an amazing album bro I suggest you listen to it more carefully, the lyrics and beats are unmatched.

  • i think thats poppa wu

  • is this like a hidden track?? jewels??

  • Not a hidden track, but it was a bonus track on the CD release. I'm not sure if the 2nd pressing of the cassette (not purple) had it or not, but it's not on my purple tape.

  • @JohnCulpry

lol it's kinda annoying when they do that cause then you can't get some of the great tracks
