  • damn i wanna play in the same tempo on french horn !!

  • @iopzzza

I gonna try it with my trombone^^

  • beautiful. I am learning this now..

  • im playin the second movement on euphonium this year, im a junior in high school

  • I enjoyed this video.

  • veryveryvery good!!! mi sono emozionata! grazie!!!

  • VERY beautifully played! This is one of my fave sonatas by Georg Philip Telemann. I used to play it all the time for contest in HS. Now I'm 26 and I still love to break out this sheet music and play - keep the classics alive and keep playing! Well done!

  • i have been dabbling with this piece for a few yrs off and on...i think its time to work this sonata up and get it performed...wonderful playing!!!!!!!

  • This sounds amazing, Im gonna this on snare!

  • can anyone tell me what year Telemann wrote this piece? and where can i find the history of the piece - what made Telemann write it? was there a personal/political influence that caused him to write it? what was going on in his life when he wrote it?

  • The piece comes from 'Der Getreue Musikmeister', which started in 1728, thats the closest date I know of. 'DGM' was a musical periodical consisting of vocal and instrumental selections accessible to students and amateur musicians.

  • very beautiful. Im playing this piece on bassoon and ive never heard in on flute. I love how you made this piece your own.

  • are you sure this piece was originally written for recorder and bassoon?

  • The piece comes from a musical periodical called Der getreue musikmesiter, in which it is written for bassoon but Telemann also sanctioned performance on the recorder.

  • Actually, after listening to it, the euphonium part is slightly altered. For what reason, I do not know.

  • Very moving playing, I like it a lot. You have a great feel for Telemann. Thanks for posting.

  • hmm, nice solo there. i might try it on oboe some time

  • you are a very emotional musician. This music needs that, I think you are doing a great job :)

  • So beautiful sagarflute! You inspire me! smiles!

  • me too!!

  • Right at 7:30 where he starts in at the next movement I used that for my horn solo to try out for an Orchestra! I did it just a little faster

  • I like how you vary the 2nd movment on the second time through it gives the movment more "punch". Hard to beat beat telamann.

    5 stars!!!

  • Also great ornaments, I haven't heard these before. Nice imagination!

  • You sound great! I would just say that your playing of Telemann sounds a tad too romantic, with too much vibrato, but thats just how I was taught baroque music. But overall, great sound and great technique!

  • trombone? i would love to hear that version.

  • Ya, this piece has become a standard for low brass players as well

  • yeah, i play the euphonium and i'm trying out for senior district band- this is the song they want me to play...im not worthy!!!

  • I have played this song on the euphonium, it is definitly worth playing. Go for it!

  • Very good. I enjoyed it. I will be playing this piece in May for my Juries at North Texas

  • i'm playing this on trombone for solo and ensemble. it's a great piece.

  • im playing it for my solo on trombone

  • wow . . . you are an amateur? you discourage me greatly :'(

  • I love this piece. I play it, but not so good:) Nice!

  • hey

    great flute playing!!

i've been playing this piece on the recorder for couple of months now. i like the ornaments you have putting, sounds original

    great playing

  • very nice, excellent musician that plute player. i played this sonata on Euphonium. we dont have much original repertoire so we steal like...everything. haha

  • if you don't mind me asking, what kind of flute do you play?

  • Powell signature with lafin headjoint

  • I've been playing this piece on bassoon for about 3 years, I prefer the 1st and 2nd movements the best, I usually just skip over the third... But it is very beautiful on the flute, I've only heard it on bassoons.

  • heyy i did the first and 4th mvmnt of this on trombone)

i got the basson and tro, mbone version:)

    u do it veryy nicelyy

cant quite play the 4th movement at speeed.

    how long u bin playing?

i started trombone in yr 8.

    2.5 yrs ago:D

  • Hey, I'm doing this on the trombone this year. Movement 1 and 2 though. I love it so much though I think I'll be picking it up for the flute too. (Or not, and just reading bass on my flute. XD)

    You sound awesome.

I've been playing flute for around 3 years, but I've been playing trombone for about 10 months now.

  • I must sayt that your tune is very great.. I have playing these three movements myself and I have to say that you are a amazing musican.. I am a flutist myself though I play the treble recorder.. Nice!! Keep it up!!

  • Awesome.

  • well what you are supposed to do is do a quick grace not and then trill

    ex: if you are told to trill on F natural to a quick g to the f and then a g and then go f-g-g-f-g ro;;

  • The trill you describe is what I am doing. Its the french baroque trill which starts on the note above rather than the italian baroque trill starting on the note like a classical trill. The piece is German and therefore uses a mix of the 2 types of trill.

  • Your tone - is great - are you doing the baroque trills?

    All in all congrats dude!

  • thanks! Im not sure what baroque trills are, but in the slow movements I tend to linger on the dissonant note and speed up the trill through the note, I think it sounds nice :)

  • the third movement needs to be much much lighter. nice ornamentation. i like how it differentiates the first time from the second time. lots of the time ur articulation was off with ur fingers. but good otherwise.

  • Hello! I just wanted to say that I really like to watch your flute playing. I am a flutist too, so I guess the main reason is that. :) How long have you been playing? Your playing sounds so very good! I especially like this video.

  • Thank for the comment. I love this piece! Ive been playing for around 10 years I think, lost count!

  • Thanks for posting

    Beautiful ... enjoyed it

  • I really enjoyed listening to this! Telemann is a favorite composer of mine and this was one of the first pieces I played by him. Really liked your interpretation and great control over the articulation.

    Thanks for putting this up!
