Theres no expansion packs for them, You go online and download them and move the files to you ea games, sims2 , downloads folder.

"Primp" was broken for pretty much all the expansion packs before AL, I think. However it shows up alright with AL (Apartment Life). If you're not up to buy the expansion pack you could try searching the net for a fix.
